ODESSA -- Wanda Veronica Covert, 70, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Chicago and was a Ohio resident before moving to Odessa in 1963. She was Catholic.
Survivors: Husband, Harold S. Covert of Odessa; sons, Jeffrey Covert and Gregory Covert, both of Odessa, and Michael Covert of Coppell; sister, Jean Branecki of Elmwood, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

COUPLAND -- Louise Ging Kreidel, 91, of Odessa, a former office clerk for the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife, died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, in Odessa.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Coupland with Bob Breihan officiating. Burial will be at St. Peters cemetery. Arrangements by Condra Funeral Home in Taylor.
She was born in Coupland and was resident of Austin before moving to Odessa. She was Methodist.
Survivors: Daughter, Carol Nelle of Odessa; sister, Leona Marburger of Coupland; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

ODESSA -- Rachel Deaon Wagner, 19, of Odessa, head cashier at Home Depot in Odessa, died Thursday, April 9, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Rogers officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was a lifetime resident of Odessa.
Survivors: Parents, Roger Wagner and Tammy Wagner, both of Gardendale; brother, Jeremy Wagner of Gardendale; grandparents, Don Webb and Janie Webb, both of Gardendale and E.M. Wagner of Bangs.

ODESSA -- Rita Chavez Doporto, 77, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, April 8, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Luis Zepeda officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
She was born in Marfa.
Survivors: Sons, Martin Doporto and George Doporto, both of Odessa; daughters, Lupe Nunez and Azusena (Lily) Nunez, both of Odessa; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

KERMIT -- Geno G. Montes Sr., 47, of Kermit, a pulling unit supervisor for Charles J. George Co., died Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hector M. Quinones officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home.
He was born in Delicious, Mexico. and was 31-year resident of Kermit.
Survivors: Wife, Delia V. Montes of Kermit; father, Ceferino E. Montes of Mexico; mother, Maria De la Luz Guerrero of Mexico; daughters, L. Veronica Montes Smith of Kermit and Priscilla Carrasco of Wink; son, Geno Montes Jr. of Abilene; brothers, Ceferino Montes Jr. and Claudio Montes, both of Kermit, Jesus Montes of Mexico, Cande Montes and Gerardo Montes, both of Hobbs, N.M.; sisters, Fany Garcia and Rufina Guvera, both of Mexico, Delfina Venegas of Kermit, Rita Montes of Hobbs, N.M., Lucina Montes and Lucha Niento, both of Mexico; and three grandchildren.
