Margaret spent her younger years in Crane. She met and married Joe Campbell on December 20, 1958, in Crane.
Margaret was a vibrant, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved God, Country, family, traveling, cross stitch, hummingbirds, The Dallas Cowboys and Waylon; not necessarily in that order. Not working was not an option for her and she always made sure to give 200% in all she did, work or play.
Everyone who ever came in contact with Margaret loved and respected her. Her compassion and selflessness made her profession. For many years, until the time of her death, she served the grieving families of Odessa at both Sunset Memorial Gardens and Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. She was a stern taskmaster when it was necessary and soft as a marshmallow at other times. As soon as a person was introduced to her, they were “adopted”. She would know everything about them within ten minutes: their spouses, children, pets, likes and dislikes, favorite foods, birthdays, etc. and she never forgot! She would show up or call out of the blue to tell you Happy Birthday or whatever, or show up with a cake or favorite dish. She always made every gift and gesture personal.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Campbell; mother, Irene Ausbern of Kingston, Okla.; son, John Campbell; daughters, Vikki Hagan, Rhonda Johnson and husband, Buzz, and Rena Pollard; grandchildren, Timothy Campbell and wife, Janice, Jessica Couch and husband, Monty, Anthony Johnson and Taylor Hagan; and her pride and joy, two gorgeous great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Paige Campbell and Taylor Leigh Couch.

During World War II, Julian served as a Prisoner of War and endured many cruelties and heartaches that are associated with war. Shortly after returning from the war, Julian went to work for Santa Fe Railroad as a signal maintainer. He worked for them for 25 years and retired from a job that loved him as much as he loved it. On Oct. 17, 1948, he was united in marriage with Ouida Hazel Brandon in Clovis, New Mexico. They moved back to Texas and had one beautiful daughter together. After his retirement, Julian worked with the Boll Weevil Eradication Program in Scurry County for a short period. Julian had many hobbies that he enjoyed, but most of all was playing bridge. He earned the title of life master while playing in tournaments all over Texas and New Mexico. Julian’s other passion was his grandkids and his great-grandkids. He was always there for them and was more like a father than a grandfather.
