Kenneth R. Lane

ODESSA — Kenneth Royce Lane, 67, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at Odessa Regional Hospital. He was born October 21, 1936, in Diboll, Texas.
He was a truck driver for Holloman Const. Co. for over 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Lane on July 23, 2002; brother, Glen Lane; parents, George and Francis Lane; and grandson, Stephen Chesney.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff Lane and wife, Tonya, of Odessa; Kenny Lane and wife, Diane, of Midland; daughters, Rhonda Harris and husband, Jared, and Vickie Rose and husband, Billie, all of San Antonio; and Wendy Alexander and husband, Robert, of New Orleans, La.; brothers, Johnny Lane of Christoval and Sony Lane of Fort Worth; sisters, Mary Joyce Bryant of Conroe and Murry Landrum of Fort Worth; 16 grandchildren, Crystal Lane, Alyssa Billingsly, Tim Lane, Rachel Parham, Kenny P. Lane Jr. Zachery Tullous, Gage Harris, Kyra Harris, Jimmy Sorrells, Mykl Sorrells, Robert Chesney, Jr., Chaz Chesney, R. J. Morris, Justin Newcomb and Corey Salter; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Sorrells, Trevor Sorrells, Trinity Tullous and Bragen Billingsly.
There will be a visitation from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Caywood officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Marguerite R. Lytell

ODESSA — Marguerite R. Lytell, age 96, passed away peacefully Sept. 5, 2004, surrounded by her loving Odessa family.
She was born November 3, 1907 in Atlanta, Ga., and preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Lytell; stepson, John D. Lytell; brothers, Charles K. Reeder and William E. Reeder; sister, Frances Green; and sister-in-law, Fleeta R. Reeder. After retiring from government service she and Jack made many trips traveling the world; they also shared the love of ballroom dancing. Marguerite loved nature, especially flowers and birds. She lived most of her life in south Florida and moved to Odessa in 2003.
In Odessa, Marguerite leaves behind her nieces, Carolyn, DeAnn and Keli Wilson, Sharon Bailey (husband Billy Bailey), and nephew Chris Wilson; also nephew, Patrick Wieneke in Wisconsin. In Florida, some of her closest survivors include daughter-in-law Doris Lytell, granddaughters Kathryn Lytell, Kristen and Heather, and grandsons David Lytell and J.D. all of Stuart. Sister-in-law Louise Reeder, niece Adelene Kelly, several nieces and nephews in Miami and stepdaughter Jackie Sullivan and grandchildren in Salt Lake City.
Private memorial services will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, with Chaplain Jimmy Braswell of Home Hospice officiating.
Private services will again be held at Van Orsdel North Miami Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Sept. 18, 2004, with interment to follow at Southern Memorial Park in N. Miami, Florida.

George M. Cook Jr.

ALICE — George M. Cook Jr., 57, passed away September 8, 2004, in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, George Cook Sr., and one brother, Morris Cook.
He is survived by his wife, Evita Cook; his mother, Adela Cook; five sons, Eddy (Renee) Cook, Frank (Yolanda) Cook, Gilbert (Marcella) Cook, Gabriel (Martha) Cook and Joe (Merna) Cook; a brother, Willie Cook; and four sisters, Mary Zamora, Ruby Cook, Burna Sandovar and Norma Cook. He was also survived by 26 grandchildren.
Viewing will start at 10 a.m. at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, September 10, 2004, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m.
Procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, from Roberson Funeral Home for a 10 a.m. mass at Our Lady of the Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Burial to follow at the New Collins cemetery.

Hazel Marie Ford Rountree

ODESSA — On September 9, 2004, “Cottie” went home to the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born April 30, 1916, in Sherwood, Texas, to Mary and William Ford, the 13th of 16 children. She was raised in New Mexico and West Texas.
On March 23, 1934, she married Millard Rountree, her loving husband for 61 years until his death in 1995. They raised three daughters; she was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Gloria; her parents; eight brothers; and six sisters.
She is survived by daughters, Joyce “Judy” West of Sweetwater and Evelyn Patterson of Odessa. She was “Mee Maws” to six grandchildren and their families, Twila Bryan of Odessa, Sherrie and Cal Parks and David and Sherry West of Sweetwater, Danny West and P.A. Casey, Stanley and Becky West of Abilene and Steve and Karen West of Hammond, La., 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Aldene McGuire of Barnhart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services to be held at a later date, family and friends will be notified.
If desired, the family suggests memorials may be made to your favorite charity or Hospice House.

Albert Donald Albritton

ODESSA — Albert Donald Albritton, 68, of Odessa, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, after a short illness. He was born April 3, 1936, in Forestburg, Texas.
He retired after 32 years with General Tire and Rubber/Ameripol Synpol Corporation as a maintenance supervisor.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Jeanette Melson Albritton; his adoptive father, Willie Lee Albritton; and Max Romines, his father.
He was a 1954 graduate of Pampa High School in Pampa, Texas, and he also attended Odessa College. He was a member of the Permian Basin Motorcycle Association and worked at Phillips Petroleum in Artesia for 11 years.
One of the most rewarding events in Don’s life was being a host to foreign exchange students over the last 10 years. His foreign exchange “adopted daughters” are the following: Yulia Tsai, Tatiana Tyutko and Anya Buzalo, all of Rostov Russia; Anna Sara Nordstrom of Yorlanda, Sweden; and Vivian Schwirtz of Berlin, Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Nelda Albritton; sons, Donnie Wayne Jones of San Angelo, Texas, and Terry Lynn Jones of Snyder, Texas; daughters, Whitney Dawn White and husband Gerald of Venus, Texas, and Audi Faircloth and husband Ted of Allen, Texas; sisters, Beverly Brock of Amarillo, Texas, and Joyce Seals of Pampa, Texas; seven grandchildren, Bradley Jones and Codi Jones of San Angelo, Joshua Jones of Crane, John Owen and Brandon Owen of Venus, Justin Lance of Odessa and Andrew Faircloth of Bryan, Texas.
There will be a visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel in Odessa with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Weir cemetery in Weir, Texas.
Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Tom Tinsley Dorough

ODESSA — Tom Tinsley Dorough, 85, of Odessa, a retired area supervisor for Amoco, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.
He was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Kaufman County, Texas.
He married Twilla Graham on May 2, 1949, in Brownfield.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at St. Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1415 N. Grandview Ave., with Dr. Jimmy Braswell. Interment will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Resthaven Mausoleum in Lubbock, Texas. Arrangments are by Brownfield Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Twilla Dorough of Odessa; son, Tom Sawyer Dorough of Odessa; daughter, Diedre Dorough of Leander, Texas; grandson, Tommy Buck Dempsey and wife Mandy and their children, Hunter and Brayden Dempsey, all of Midland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice House Foundation Inc., 903 N. Sam Houston Ave., Odessa, TX, 79761 or Mayo Foundation Reseach, P.O. Box 450, Albert Lea, MN, 56007-9849.

Ramon Lujan

ODESSA — Ramon Lujan, 47, of Odessa, born March 14, 1957, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, of liver cancer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Naomie Lujan; and grandson, Adam Ray Gonzalez. He is also survived by his daughters, Inez Muńoz of Houston and Veronica Lujan of Odessa; his son, Ramon G. Lujan Jr. of Odessa; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Jack Edward Townzen Jr.

LAS VEGAS — Jack Edward Townzen Jr., 49, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, with his parents by his side in the hospital in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was born Nov. 5, 1954, to Jack Edward and Mary Garren Townzen in Odessa, Texas, and grew up in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church there. He was presented with the Eagle Scout Award BSA. He graduated from Permian High School, attended Odessa College and studied Interior Design and Dance at the University of North Texas.
He dedicated his life to the arts. A classically trained ballet dancer, Jack studied at the Joffery Ballet Academy, Dallas Ballet, Kansas City Ballet and Bolshoi Ballet and on the Dance Faculty at University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
A lifelong performer, Jack was listed in the Who’s Who in Entertainment, and he performed on Broadway, at Lincoln Center, on a national tour with Donald O’Connor, Eve Arden and Bob Fosse and with the country’s most prestigious ballet companies. He lived in Las Vegas since 1984 and appeared in the Flamingo Hilton’s City Lites, An Evening at LaCage and Stardust, Allez Lido.
Jack was an accomplished director and choreographer. As its Artistic Director, he staged multiple productions for the Las Vegas Civic Ballet, including an original ballet based on the novel, “Little Women.” He also choreographed and directed numerous productions in Las Vegas. Perhaps his most notable accomplishments were with the HIV/AIDS service organization Golden Rainbow. A board member for 17 years, Jack took part in every one of its fund-raising shows either as a performer or choreographer, and he directed the show a record seven times. In 2002, he received the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Award in Art and Entertainment.
Memorial services are pending in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his parents, Jack and Mary Townzen of Midland, Texas; one brother, Mark Townzen and wife Crystal of Fort Worth, Texas; one nephew, Curtis Townzen of Fort Worth; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
