ODESSA - Elmer E. Johnson Jr., 68, of Odessa, a retired postal carrier, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Hospice House.
Military services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with J.T. Proffit officiating. Burial will be Tuesday in Minneapolis.
He was born in Minneapolis. He served in the Army and Marines.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Cherie Johnson of Odessa; brothers, Larry Johnson and Steven Johnson, both of Minneapolis; and sisters, Donna Johnson and Arlene Barton, both of Minneapolis.

G. Irene Smith
ODESSA - G. Irene (Smittie) Smith, 92, of Odessa, retired from Medical Center Hospital and Women’s and Children’s Hospital, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Avalon Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Greenville. She was a member of Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, Joe Cherry of Monahans; daughters, Jerry Rogge of Odessa and Harriett Conner of Longview; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Anita Valadez
MERTZON - Anita Valadez, 80, of Big Lake, a homemaker, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in Avalon Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Mertzon cemetery.
He was born in Miles. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Big Lake.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Alfonso Valadez of Rankin and Abel Valadez of Odessa; daughters, Gloria Basquez of Loop, Alice Aguilar and Olga Lorenz, both of Odessa and Yollanda Lopez of Crane; sister, Amelia Mediano of San Angelo; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Terry Winston Whitten
ODESSA - Terry Winston Whitten, 73, of Odessa, a driller for Cactus Drilling Corp., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Byron McWilliams and Curtis Brewer officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Garden.
He was born in Bodcaw, Ark. He was a member of Bodcaw Missionary Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Son, Terry Michael Whitten of Denver; sisters, Shirley Bridges of Maumelle, Ark., Lynda Amos of Pearland and Carolyn
Murff of Hurst; and one grandchild.

Asucena Montoya
ODESSA - Asucena Montoya, 15, of Odessa, a student, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at noon Monday; prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today; a sunrise devotional will be at 10 a.m. Sunday; and a celebration service at 6 p.m. Sunday, all at the First Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus with the Rev. Roman Arreola and Heriberto Padilla officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was a member of The First Apostolic Assembly Church of the Faith in Christ Jesus.

ODESSA - Nona B. Scott, 86, of Midland, a homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
She was born in Tom Green County. She was a Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Ken Scott of Dallas, Abe Scott of Goldsmith and Charles Scott of Houston; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
