ODESSA - James Elwood Montgomery, 66, an oil field salesman, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. David Mindel officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Big Spring and moved from Monahans to Odessa in 1939. He was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Lajuana Montgomery of Odessa; son, Les Montgomery of Coahoma; daughter, Sharon Fletcher of Odessa; mother, Ira Montgomery of Odessa; brother, Glenn Montgomery of El Paso; sister, Elna Vanderberg of Odessa; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Refugia Tarango

PECOS - Refugia 'Cuca' Tarango, 92, a homemaker, died Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, at her residence. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with Augustine Fuentez officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery in Pecos. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home. She was born in Balmorhea and was a resident of Pecos. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Gloria Fuentez of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Gayle Young

ODESSA - Gayle Clayton Young, 55, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. was born in Pawnee, Okla.

SURVIVORS: Aunt, Hazel Teague of Odessa.

Gerald Evans

ODESSA - Gerald Wilson 'Jerry' Evans, 83, of Odessa died Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, in Denton. Funeral arrangements are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Cecil Allford

LUBBOCK - Cecil Carl 'Dick' Allford, 72, a retired farmer, of Kermit, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1997, in Dallas.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in W.W. Rix Chapel. Burial will be at the City of Lubbock cemetery. Arrangements by W.W. Rix Funeral Directors.

He was born in McAlester, Okla., and was a long time resident of Shallowater before moving to Kermit eight years ago. He was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Margaret Sue Boner Allford of Kermit; stepsons, Wayne Johnson of Wills Point, Roger Martin of Plains, Kan., and Johnny Morton of Lubbock; stepdaughter, Joyce Ann Hindsley of Lubbock; brothers, Jack Allford of Anton and Pete 'Tex' Allford of Bonham; sister, Eva Lee Terry of Levelland; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Celerina Barrera

SANDERSON - Celerina Flores Barrera, 71, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Vasques officiating. Burial will be at Santa Rita cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Sanderson and was a resident of Odessa. She was a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Didio Barrera of Odessa; daughters, Alicia De Leon and Sally Gomez, both of McCamey, and Ervenia Reyes of Odessa; brothers, Cherry Valley of California, Jose Angel Flores of Houston, Gilde Flores of Hereford and Ruben Flores of Odessa; sisters, Juanita Martinez of Beaumont, Calif., and Emma Garcia of Sanderson; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Leonor Cano

MONAHANS - Leonor Torres Cano, 69, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1997, in Odessa. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Harkey Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Johns's Catholic Church of Monahans. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery.

She was born in Alpine and was a resident of Monahans. She was a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Eleno Cano, Sr. of Monahans; sons, Edward Cano and Eleno Cano, Jr., both of Monahans; daughters, Anita Vela, Lupe Valenzuela, Lisa Marquez, Debbie Armendariz and Tina Aguilar, all of Monahans, and Gracie Rodriguez of Big Spring; brothers, Manuel Torres, Vidal Torres and Robert Torres, all of Alpine, Eiline Torres of Midland, Pat Torres of Littlefield and Isreal Torres of Del Rio; sister, Rosa Soto of Lubbock; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Velma Gamblin

MIDLAND - Velma Gamblin, 60, a teacher, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at her residence.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

She was born in Lawton, Okla., and was a resident of Midland.

SURVIVORS: Son, Brent Gamblin of Tucumcari, N.M.; daughter, DeeAuna Lamare of Mesquite; brothers, Garnett Spearman of Brunswick, Ga., and Warren Spearman of Colorado; and sister, Delise Cannon of Odessa.

Olan Rich

KILLEEN - Olan L. Rich, 85, a retired employee with Shell Pipeline Co., died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1997, in Killeen.

Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. today at Crawford-Bowers Chapel with the Revs. Alvin Reese Sutton and Wayne Bynum officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Romney cemetery in Cisco.

He was born in Romney. He was a former resident of Goldsmith and a resident of Killeen. He was a member of the Church of God.

SURVIVORS: Son, Thomas Rich of St. Jo; daughter, Georgia L. Barfield of Killeen; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Elaine Argo

ODESSA - Elaine Argo, 75, a homemaker,[CL10.5] died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Dennis officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. She was born in Hutchinson, Kan., and had lived in Odessa since 1951.

SURVIVORS: Son, Terry Argo of Gardendale; and daughter, Tamee Argo of Gardendale.

Melvin 'Red' Creekmore

ODESSA - Melvin 'Red' Creekmore, 88, a retired oil company employee, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at his residence. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Westover Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being made by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. He was born in Malone and had lived in Odessa since 1960. He was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jean Creekmore of Odessa; son, Joe Creekmore of Mount Vernon, Ohio; step-son, Gerald Brunette of Austin; daughter, Sue Haney of Victoria; step-daughter, Barbara Lillie of Iowa Park; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

James 'Jimmy' Dinsmore

HOBBS, N.M. - James 'Jimmy' Dinsmore, 76, a tool company founder, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 1997, in Hobbs, N.M. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Miles Godbey officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home. He was born in Wilson, Okla., and was a veteran of World War II. He was a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jean Dinsmore of Hobbs; daughters, Jimmie Lea Mann of Midland and Carolyn Sue Jamison of Hobbs; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Joan S. Drugan

SAN ANGELO - Joan S. Drugan, 65, an antique dealer from Mertzon died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at her residence. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Burial will be at Mertzon cemetery. Arrangements by Johnson's Funeral Home. She was born in St. Louis and had lived in Mertzon since 1992.

SURVIVORS: Sons, John Drugan of Casper, Wyo., and Jim Drugan, Robert Drugan and Thomas Drugan, all of Odessa; daughters, Cathy Chavez of Fabens and Colleen Drugan of Clint; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Doris Mahoney Harwell

ODESSA - Doris Mahoney Harwell, 71, a retired state employee, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Easley officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cottonwood cemetery in Bryson. Arrangements made by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. She was born in Vernon and had lived in Odessa since 1960. She was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Charles Harwell of Odessa; sons, Greg Mahoney of Fluvanna, Larry Harwell of Odessa and David Harwell of Los Angeles; daughters, Kris Farrow of Austin and Peggy Allen of Odessa; sisters, Marye Brood of Birmingham, Ala., and Bobbie Miller of Collierville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Leonard L. 'Toots' Watkins

ODESSA - Leonard L. 'Toots' Watkins, 74, a retired oil company mechanic, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. He was born in Talpa.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Leona Watkins of Odessa; son, Gary Watkins of Odessa; brother, Arnold Watkins of Crane; sister, Adelaide Nalley of Abilene; and five grandchildren.
