Jesus Manuel Alcantar
ODESSA - Jesus Manuel Alcantar, 39 years of age, passed away January 2, 2005, in Odessa. He was born April 14, 1965, in Ojinaga, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Francisca Alcantar, sons, Jesus Manuel Alcantar Jr. and Ismael Alcantar, all of Odessa; daughter, Laura Alcantar of Odessa; father, Domingo Alcantar and stepmother, Socorro Alcantar, both of Odessa; brothers, Juan Alcantar, Martin Alcantar, Domingo Alcantar Jr. and Hector Munoz, all of Odessa, and Lorenzo Munoz of Lubbock; sisters, Melva Torres, Marina Martinez, Vicky Nieto, Delia Carrasco, Sonia Guerrero and Maggie Alcantar, all of Odessa, Martha Salmeron of Dallas, Rosa Maria Escobar of Calif., and Zulema Valenzuela, Norma Munoz and Maria Payon of Mexico; and two grandchildren, Jorge Armando Santellanes Jr. and Esmeralda Sarahi Santellanes.
Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesus Manuel Alcantar Jr., Rito Diaz, Julio Diaz, Juan Alcantar, Martin Alcantar and Domingo Alcantar Jr.

William ‘Bill’ Brooks Jr.
ODESSA - William “Bill” Brooks Jr., 86, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. He was born February 18, 1918, in Mission, TX, and reared in Mooringsport, La.
Bill came to West Texas after high school to work for the Gulf Oil Corporation as a summer employee. After attending Baylor University, Bill moved to Odessa to work for Gulf Oil Co. On May 15, 1941, he married Dorothy “Dot” Johnson.
In 1942, Bill enlisted in the Army Engineers. After basic training he attended officer’s candidate school graduating as a second Leiutenant. He was stationed at March Field, California and Tacoma, Washington. He was sent overseas with the 1875th Engineer Battalion in January of 1944 and spent two years in India, Burma and North Africa, returning to the States in January of 1946 as a Captain.
He and Dorothy had three children, Debbie, Bill III and Mike. In 1948, he went to work for Permian Mud Service as an engineer and salesman. In 1967, he and a partner started Star Insulation Company. Bill retired in 1977.
He was a Director at Texas Commerce/Chase Bank for twenty years and a member of Odessa Country Club. He and Dot were confirmed in St. John’s — St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church in 1974. He loved sports especially golf. Bill and Dot traveled to many places with friends, playing golf and bridge. Bill was generous and devoted to friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Edward Brooks and sister, Clara Abbott.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot”; three children, Debbie Clyburn and husband, Wes, of Winberley, TX., Bill Brooks III of Ruidoso, N.M., and Mike Brooks and wife, Wanda, of Odessa; two sisters, Jane Plitt and husband, Fred, of Shreveport, La., and Anne Brown of Destin, Fla.; five grandchildren, Todd Brooks and wife, Keri, of Odessa, Emily Smith of Boerne, TX, Buddy Brooks of Houston, Jill Brooks of Arlington, and Cristi Clyburn of Wimberley, TX;and two great-grandchildren, Baylee and Braydon Brooks of Odessa.
Papa, we’ll miss you, but we know we’ll see you soon around the throne of our Lord Jesus.
A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2005, at St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church with Rev. David Mossbarger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be sent to the Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center, 620 N. Alleghaney, Ave. Odessa, TX. 79761 or St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 4141 Tanglewood Lane, Odessa, TX 79762.

Joyce W. Cramer
MIDLAND - Graveside services for Joyce W. Cramer, 76, will be held Friday, January 7, 2005, at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Arlington, Texas, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Thorpe officiating. Arrangements are under Thomas Funeral Home.
Joyce W. Cramer was born August 31, 1928, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Abe and Verdie Jarnagin. She moved to Odessa in 1939, and graduated Odessa High School in 1945. She moved to Midland in 1973, where she was employed with Forrest Oil for 15 years and Pioneer Resources (formerly Parker and Parsley). Joyce retired from Parker and Parsley in 1996. She passed away at the age of 76 in her home on Wednesday, January 5, 2005.
She was a lifetime member of Temple Baptist Church in Odessa. She never said an unkind word about anyone. Joyce was also a member of Green Tree Country Club where she made her fourth hole in one.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Cliffton Ralph Cramer.
She is survived by: her daughter, Courtney Dawn Cramer from Midland; a brother, Travis Jarnagin from Midland; two grandchildren, Christal Cramer of Dallas and Peyton Cramer, of Arlington; and a niece, Sandra Kay Minter in Lock Port, La.

Jesus Gonzales
ODESSA - Jesus Gonzales, 81, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2005, at his residence. He was born September 14, 1923, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, to Luis and Sara Baesa Gonzales. He was a Christian Catholic.
He as preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. Gonzales is survived by daughters, Viola Bermudez and husband, Victor, Socorro Villa and husband, Alfonso, Mila Arenivas and husband, Raymundo, Maria Lujan and husband, Rene, Lety Ramirez and husband, Jesus, and Tere Gandara and husband, Lucio, all of Odessa; brother, Angel Gonzales of Plainview; 22 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and lots of friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ariel Villa, Osiel Villa, Cesar Ramirez, Hugo Gonzales, Rodolfo Gandara and Sergio Lujan.

Mike Henry
ODESSA - In the early hours of January 1, 2005, Mike was welcomed into heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. Henry, 55, the third of six children, was born December 19, 1949, in Odessa, Texas, to Andrew and Doris Henry, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Ector High School and had an immense passion for sports. Prior to his employment with ECISD, Mike worked in the oil field with his father and was involved in the restaurant business with his brother-in-law. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. As a brother, uncle, friend and co-worker, Mike had a tremendous impact on the lives he touched. His loving heart, giving spirit, and unselfish desire to help others are memories we will cherish in our hearts forever. During sporting events, choir concerts or school and church activities, he always accompanied his niece and nephew, Brandi and Marc. Mae Holloway, his longtime companion, will also miss his strength and encouragement. Two brothers, Robert Henry and Lawrence Henry, preceded him in death.
Mike is survived by two sisters and one brother: Marylyn Cornish and her husband, Willie, of Odessa, Teresa Henry of Richardson, and Gerald Henry and wife, Jackie, of Paris, Arkansas. Also mourning his loss are his nieces and nephews. Brandi Huffty and her husband, Cody, of Odessa, Marc Cornish of Odessa, Tahvia Graham of Rowlett, Ryan Robinson of Dallas, Russell Henry and wife, Mary, of Austin, and a sister-in- law, Marilyn Henry of New Prague, Minnesota.
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 8, in the Frank W. Wilson Chapel. Eulogy will be conducted by Rev. Nick Gates. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

William H. ‘Bill’ Hickman
ODESSA - William H. “Bill” Hickman, 70, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Bill was born November 5, 1934, in Edina, Missouri, the fourth of five children, to Edward C. and Helen Holt Hickman.
He graduated in Edina, MO. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Jan. 9, 1953, to Jan. 2, 1957. He married Frances LaVeda Bowles Dec. 5, 1955. He graduated from Arlington State College in 1958 with a Associate Degree in Science. He graduated from T.C.U. in 1960 with a BS Degree in Commerce. He worked in the banking industry as Sr. Vice President from 1960 to 1987.
He was a long time member of the Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang, Chamber Of Commerce, Permian Basin Oil Show.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie McGlothlin; and brothers, Benny George and Robert C. Hickman.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Hickman of Odessa; son, David W. Hickman of Odessa; sister, Betty Grace Hickman of Chicago; grandson, Robert W. Hickman; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2005, at Highland United Methodist Church.

Irene Prementine
MCCAMEY - Irene Prementine, 49, of Midland, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2005, in the Thomason General Hospital in El Paso.
Wake services will be held at 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey on Thursday, January 6, and Mass will be said at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2005, at the Church with Father Nilo Nalugon officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven cemetery in McCamey with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the church when the viewing begins at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Irene was born July 24, 1955, in McCamey to Manuel and Maggie Luna. She married James Prementine Jr. on December 31, 1982, in Odessa. She had been employed with Gulf, Chevron-Texaco, and Baker Atlas during her career. She had lived in Midland for 15 years and was a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Prementine Jr. of Midland; daughter, Jamie Lynn Prementine of Midland; son, Sean Michael Prementine of Midland; parents, Manuel and Maggie Luna of McCamey; grandfather, Celedonio Ruiz of McCamey; brothers, Henry Luna and his wife, Anna, of Fort Stockton, and Adrian Luna of Odessa; sisters, Angie Saenz and husband, Rene, of Odessa, Hope Salgado and husband, Joe, of San Antonio, Annie Ochoa and husband, Albert, of Monahans, and Carmen Acosta of San Antonio; father-in-law, James Prementine Sr. and mother-in-law, Linda Prementine of Prospect, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Tara Dunn and husband, Jeff, and Sherry Walker of Butler, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Bryan Cress of Prospect, Pennsylvania; and 14 nephews and nieces.

Willard Lee Redden
JAL, N.M. - Willard Lee Redden of Jal, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2005, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. (MST) Friday at the First Assembly of God Church in Jal with Rev. Joel Steen officiating and Rev. Larry Cox assisting. Interment will follow at Jal City cemetery. Mr. Redden’s body will be instate in Jal at the First Assembly of God. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church.
Willard Lee Redden was born August 10, 1917, in Yuba, Oklahoma, to George William Redden and Ella Staton. He married E. Yvonne McMurtrey on June 20, 1935, in Durant, Oklahoma. He had worked previously for El Paso Natural Gas Company before he and his wife purchased the D-Bar Drive In in Jal. He was also retired from the Jal Independent School District.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Redden of Jal, N.M.; daughters, Omega Wainscott and husband, Sam, of Granbury, TX, Sue Scott of Midland, Joy Redden Foster and husband, Rod, of Littleton Colo., and Barbara Davis of Tomball, TX; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to First Assembly of God Church in Jal.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Drive, Odessa, Texas.

Georgia Cauble
Big Spring - Georgia Cauble, 89, of Big Spring, a former shoe and clothing store employee, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God with the Rev. Darrell Hendrickson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
She was born in Montgomery County, Ark. She was a longtime resident of Big Spring. She was a member of the First Church of God.
Survivors Brothers, Dale Stroope of Odessa and Cecil Stroope of Mt. Ida, Ark.; sisters, Neola Miles of Odessa and Fern Walton of San Angelo.

Manuel G. Dominguez
Odessa - Manuel G. Dominguez, 82, of Odessa, a retired oil industry worker, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was Catholic.
Survivors Wife, Patricia Dominguez of Odessa; sons, Alfredo Dominguez and Manuel Dominguez, both of Odessa; daughters, Bertha Sotelo of Odessa, Josephina Acosta of Borger, and Evangelina Dominguez, Amalia Carrasco and Olivia Lozoya, all of Odessa; brothers, Pablo Dominguez and Ciro Dominguez both of Chihuahua, Mexico; sisters, Amelia Bejarano of Midland and Socorro Rios of Chihuahua Mexico; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Jean Marie Esman
Odessa - Jean Marie Esman, 72, of Odessa, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at RoseHill cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Hull officiating. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Henryetta, Okla.
Survivors son, William J. “Sonny” Esman Jr. of Odessa; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Luis G. Flores
Monahans - Luis G. Flores, 81, of Monahans, an aircraft mechanic, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Third and Dwight Church of Christ with Greg Holly officiating. Burial will follow in the Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Funeral Services.
He was born in Pecos. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors Sons, Joby Flores and Armando Flores, both of Monahans, and Angel Flores of Alice; daughter, Yolanda Woods of Monahans; brother, Cruz Flores of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Joe Lee Wilcox
Crane - Joe Lee Wilcox, 66, of Crane, the retired Crane County Superintendent of the Road and Bridge Department, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at his home in Crane.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Crane County cemetery with the Rev. Randy Bird officiating. Arrangements are by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
He was a 20-year resident of Crane. He was a member of the Cowboy Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Odessa - Thomas Louis Baker, 47, of Odessa, College sports equipment manager, died Saturday, January 29, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Workman officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Big Spring. He was Baptist.

Charlotte Ann Whitehead Horne
ODESSA - Charlotte Ann Whitehead Horne, 62, of Monahans, died Friday, January 28, 2005, at an Odessa nursing home.
A memorial service will be held in the Hubbard-Kelly Chapel at 4 p.m. today with the Rev. Craig Rhoton officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Sweetwater. She was Baptist.
SURVIVOR Husband, Lyndol Wade Horne of Monahans; mother, Muriel Whitehead of Odessa; daughter, Glory Willeford of Yorktown; brother, Gary Whitehead of Odessa; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
