Frank Rasure
Midland - Frank Rasure, of Midland, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2005.
He was born July 6, 1919, to William Lewis Rasure and Maude Ona Kiker Rasure in Dike, Texas. After graduating High School in McAdoo in 1937, Frank went to work in the oil fields. He was the owner operator of Rasure Oil Company until 1990. Frank was presently employed by Eddins-Walcher in sales. On June 8, 1974, he married Nelda McIntosh. Frank was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1971. He was a 60-year member of Kermit Lodge, 1258, Past Master 1949; 50-year member of Scottish Rite, El Paso; 50-year member of Suez Shrine Temple, San Angelo and the Petroleum Club of Midland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Frank is survived by his wife, of 30 years, Nelda Rasure of Midland; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kathleen Rasure of Shreveport, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Mark Bozich and their daughter, Katherine, all of Woodlands; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Jodie Rasure and their two children, Kelsie and Korey, all of Midland; special friends, Dean and Cathy Robinson and Lane, of Midland.
Frank’s family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Ashutosh Rastogi and staff of the Allison Cancer Center, to the nurses of the fourth floor Oncology and the wonderful and loving care of Hospice of Midland.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Dean Robinson, Fred Dotson, Tom Wilmeth, Lee Majors, David Salmon, Tom Warden, Russ Robken and Rick Carlisle. Honorary pallbearers are Troy Chafin, John Reed, Alan Moravcik, Bill Cathey, Flake Tompkins, Jack Hunnicut, Joe Dyer and William P. Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, Tx., 79702 or Midland Christian School, 2001 Culver, Midland, Tx. 79705.

Severo V. Jerry Carrasco
Pecos - Severo V. Jerry Carrasco, 57, of Toyah, a tire man, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2005, in Reeves County Hospital of Pecos.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements are by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home of Pecos.
He was born in Pecos. He was a Catholic. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors Mother, Maria V. Quintanilla of Odessa; sons, Jerry Carrasco of Toyah, Gilbert Carrasco of Las Vegas, Texas, Eddie Carrasco of Monahans and Reno Carrasco of Van Horn; daughters, Kathy Jo Campos, Michelle Moore and Sabrina V. Soleto, all of Monahans, and Sonia Dee Corrasco of Washington; Kara Carrasco of Van Horn, and Niki Martinez of California; and sisters, Lupe Fuentes and Mary Grace Quintanilla, both of Plano.

Iva Juanita Curlee
ODESSA - Iva Juanita Curlee, 82, of Odessa, a retired beautician, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Jones and Lynn Money officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Northfield cemetery in Childress.
She was born in Childress and was a Church of Christ member.

Judy Davis
Midland - Judy Davis, 62, of Midland, an Albertson’s employee, died Thursday, January 20, 2005.
Graveside services have been scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at Fairview cemetery with the Rev. Terry Johnson officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Lynnwood, Calif.
survivors Sisters, Nila Harries of Blackwell and Jane Goodman of Midland.

Willie Elizabeth Ferguson
Andrews - Willie Elizabeth Ferguson, 102, of Andrews, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Andrews Old cemetery with the Rev. Ted M. Short officiating. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Ardmore, Okla. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors Five grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Hollis B. ‘Shorty’ Franklin
Bowie - Hollis B. Franklin, of Odessa, was an oilfield heavy equipment operator, died Monday at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday at Elmwood cemetery in Bowie with the Rev. Jamie Reed of Eastside Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Burgess-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home.
He was born in Kiowa, Okla. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors Wife, Dorothy L. Franklin of Odessa; son, Hollis Carl Franklin of Odessa; daughters, Norma Smith of Hobbs, N.M., and Martha Wood, Kay Dawson and Cathy Franklin, all of Odessa; sister, Valley Jones of Paris, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Monses Gavia
MIDLAND - Monses Gavia, 72, of Midland, a Midland Country Club employee, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in Midland.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Ray Wilhelm officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
He was born in Imperial and moved to Midland in 1949. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
SURVIVORS Wife, Sylvestra “Sylvia” Gavia of Midland; daughter, Lucy Granado of Midland; brothers, Ramon P. Gavia of Denton and Joe Jesse Gavia and Freddie Gavia, both of Midland; sisters, Maria Chacon of Odessa and Catalina Pinon Gavia of Midland; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Pearl Lake
Odessa - Mary Lake, 89, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Byron McWilliams officiating. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors
She was born in Graham. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Olen Bert ‘Whitey’ Lummus
Odessa - Olen Bert “Whitey” Lummus, 90, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at Hospice House.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. John VanHoose officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Oakwood. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.

Arturo Aguiana Munoz
Odessa - Arturo Aguiana Munoz, 71, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at his residence.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at 11745 W. 62nd St. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. He was Catholic.

Bangs - Doris Irene Shinn, 78, of Midland, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at Rockwood Manor Nursing Home in Midland.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bangs Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Davis-Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood.
Survivors Son, Barry Horseman of Midland; daughter, Carolyn Wilkerson of Odessa; brother, Ray Early; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Estis Dunson
Odessa - Estis Dunson, 50, of Odessa, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Home Hospice in Odessa.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Sidney Thomas Clark Jr.
Midland - Sidney Thomas Clark Jr., 59, of Midland, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at a local hospital.
No services will be held. Arrangements are by Pipkin Funeral Home.
He was born in Quanah. He was an Army veteran.

El Paso - Elmalee Dorris, 84, of Midland, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at the Trinity Healthcare Center in Midland.
Graveside Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Fort Bliss National cemetery in El Paso. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in El Paso.

She was born in Fort Worth. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Luling - Edith Olivia Tilley, 91, of Denton, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Denton Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Highsmith cemetery with Rev. Robert Sebesta officiating. Arrangements are by DeBerry Funeral Directors.
She was born in Guadalupe County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Denton.

Edwin Wayne Adams
Punchbowl, Hawaii - Edwin Wayne Adams, 67, of Waianae, Hawaii, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at his residence.
Graveside services were Feb. 4, 2005, at National Memorial cemetery of the Pacific. Arrangements were by Moanalua Mortuary of Waianae, Hawaii.
He was born in Wink. He was an Army veteran.
