Lu Gean Carr

MCCAMEY -- Lu Gean Carr, 76, of McCamey died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Crittendon officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

She was born McCamey and was a lifetime resident. She was Baptist.

Survivors: Son, Paul Carr of Odessa, and one grandchild.

Mary Cates

ODESSA -- Mary Frances Cates, 81, of Odessa, a retired employee of Quicksilver Clothiers, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Rev. Dr. David Mindel officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Seymour and moved to Odessa in 1946 from McCamey. She was Methodist.

Survivors: Son, Rodney Cates of Pasadena, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Victor Griffin

ODESSA -- Victor Dale Griffin, 79, of Odessa, a retired letter carrier, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hawk officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Missouri. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was Methodist.

Survivors: Son, Steven Griffin of Odessa; daughters, Karen Chambers of Anchorage, Ala., Paula Ferguson of Houston, and Vicki McMeans of Hurst; and seven grandchildren.

Robert Malone

SEMINOLE -- Robert J. Malone, 83, of Seminole, a former oilfield worker, farmer and rancher, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at Seminole Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at South Seminole Baptist Church with the Rev. Shane Kinnison officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements by Roger Pool Funeral Home.

He was born in Abilene and moved to Seminole in 1934.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Daughter, Mary Patricia Chancellor of Dallas; son, Robert Earl Malone of Clovis, Calif.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jim Dan Moore

ODESSA -- Jim Dan Moore, 35, of Houston, mid-level manager for Professional Turf Inc., 35, died June 10, 1998 at his residence.

Memorial services will held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathryn Strempke officiating. Arrangements by Cristo Rey Funeral Home of Houston.

He was born in Iraan.

Survivors: Sons, Christopher Moore of Odessa and Colton Moore of Bryan; his mother, Sheila Moore of Alpine; his father and stepmother, Joe and Janiece Moore of Fort Davis; brother, John Moore of Irving; sister, Julia Graham of Odessa; stepsister, Dawn Anderson of Colorado Springs; and stepbrother, Dayne Sanders of Colorado Springs.

Adran Acosta

LOVINGTON, N.M. -- Adran Peppin Acosta, 19, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, in Gaines County.

Rosary was said June 11, 1998, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Thomas Catholic Church with the Rev. Franklin Eichhorst officiating. Burial will be at Lovington cemetery. Arrangements by Bethany Funeral Home.

He was born in Hobbs, N.M., and was a lifelong resident of Lovington, N.M.

Survivors: Father, Pasqual Acosta of Hobbs, N.M.; step-mother, Christine Acosta of Hobbs, N.M.; daughter, Valerie Marie Acosta of Lovington, N.M.; step-sister, Melanie Perez of San Angelo; grandmother, Saturnina Acosta of Lovington, N.M.; grandparents, Aureliano and Josie Aranda of Odessa.

Darla Anglin

SEMINOLE -- Darla Anglin, 29, of Stone Mountain, Ga., an employee of Kirby Company, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Community Chapel with the Revs. Jessie Turner and Alvin Childers officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

She was born in Seminole and moved to Stone Mountain, Ga., from Dallas. She was a member of Morning Star Church in Levelland.

Survivors: Husband, Terry Anglin of Stone Mountain, Ga.; parents, Monroe and Betty Hill of Seminole; brothers, DeWayne Hill of Oklahoma City, James Hill of Frisco, Donald Hill of Plainview, Dwight Hill of Fort Sam Houston, Darrell Hill of Lubbock; Jonathan Hill, David Hill and Jerrold Hill, all of Seminole; sisters, Ruth Hill of Abilene, Janet Williams, Janice Bell and Debra Crow, all of Lubbock, Deanna Turner of Brownwood, DeAngela Sanders of Mesquite, Jacqueline Hill and Joan Adams, both of Seminole.

William Daniels

ODESSA -- William "Bill" Daniels, 75, of Odessa, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Deerings Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Enloe and moved to Odessa in 1950. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Sons, Danny Daniels of Beaumont, Benny Ray Daniels of Commerce; sisters, Imogene Reed and Fannie Ashabranner, both of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Ronald Harbin

IRVING -- Ronald "Lynn" Harbin, 51, of Irving, an employee of the City of Irving, died Wednesday June 10, 1998.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Brown's Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Eastland.

Thomas Longman

ALPINE -- Thomas Arthur Longman, 63, of Alpine, owner of Tom's Triangle Convenience Store, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Rosary was said June 11, 1998, at Geeslin Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. today at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be at Elm Grove cemetery. Arrangements by Geesling Funeral Home.

He was born in Henry, Ill., and moved to Alpine in 1976.

Survivors: Wife, Jean Longman of Alpine; daughters, Theresa Roberts of Allen, Karen Wong of Dallas, Laurie Longman of Austin; sister, Marjorie Oswald of Cedarburg, Wisc.; and eight grandchildren.

Elva Smith

BRENHAM -- Elva Smith, 88, of Brenham, a retired nurse, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brenham Church of Christ with David Mahan and Larry Embry officiating. Burial will be at Masonic cemetery in Chappell Hill. Arrangements by Brenham Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Junction and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors: Son, Clyde Perry Smith of Odessa; daughter, Lois Perry Richardson of Brenham; sister, Ethel M. Scott of Bloomington, Ind.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
