JAL, N.M. - Roberta Lee Barnes, 82, of Jal, N.M., died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, in Kermit.
Services were Nov. 18 at Jal Methodist Church with the Rev. Daniel Kowacich officiating. Burial was at Jal cemetery. Arrangements were by Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
She was born in Hughes County, Okla.
SURVIVORS Son, Billy R. Garrett of Jal; brothers, Donald McCraw of Las Vegas, Laverne McCraw, John McCraw and Glen McCraw, all of Tishomingo, Okla.; and sister, Doris Hargrove.

Filomeno Chavez
Odessa - Filomeno Chavez, 48, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, in Grant, N.M.
Rosary will be said at 7p.m. Sunday at Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory.
He was born in Camargo Chihuahua, Mexico.
Survivors Wife, Irene Chavez of Odessa; sons, Isaac Chavez and Hector Chavez, both of Odessa; daughter, Irene Consuelo Chavez of Odessa; father, Valentin Chavez of Camargo; sisters, Imelda C. Astorga, Maria Elena Chavez of Kansas, Maria Dolores Chavez of Camargo, Catalina Chavez of Camargo, Hilda Chavez of Camargo; brothers, Mario C. Flores of Camargo and Sergio C. Flores of Denver, Colo.

Irene Diaz
Odessa - Irene Diaz, 80, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Seabury Nursing Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Arrangements are by Martinez-Smith Funeral Chapels & Crematory.
She was born in Fort Stockton.
Survivors Brother, Pablo Diaz of Odessa.

Sherman Cecil Imler Jr.
Odessa - Sherman Cecil Imler Jr., 71, of Odessa, a retired owner and operator of Sherman’s Wrecker’s, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
He was born in New Enterprise, Penn. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of Hi-Way Temple Baptist.
Survivors Sons, Kenneth Imler, Phillip Imler and Billy Lee, all of Odessa and Sherman Cecil Imler III of Danville, Ill.; daughter, Ann Samuels of Houston and Beckye McKelvy of Odessa; sisters, Dorothy Caplan of Altoona, Penn., and Dolly Satterfield of Martinsburg, Penn.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Sammy McNeely
Andrews - Sammy McNeely, 76, of Andrews, a retired drilling superintendent, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Short, of Grace Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Hawley.
Survivors Son, Kenneth Price of Lawton, Okla.; daughter, Ann Swaim of Winkleman, Ariz.; brother, C.P. “Jack” McNeely of Lubbock; sisters, Mary Sipe of San Angelo and Betty Davis of Lubbock; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Naomi Louise ‘Tommie’ Moorefield
Seminole - Naomi Louise “Tommie” Moorefield, 78, of Seminole, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Community Chapel with the Rev. Ed Clark and James T. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
She was born in Red River County.
Survivors Sons, Ronny Moorefield and Howard Moorefield, both of Seminole; brother, Wesley Harvey of Blosom; sister, Violet Turner of Blosom; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Aileen Morris
Andrews - Aileen Morris, 80, of Andrews, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Donnell officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
She was born in Wellington and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews.
Survivors Son, David Morris of Dallas; daughters, Suzan Munn of Big Spring and Debe Cornejo of Andrews; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Johnnie Helen Scarborough
Odessa - Johnnie Helen Scarborough, 86, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Colorado City and was a Baptist.
Survivors Sons, Johnny Scarborough and Wendell Scarborough, both of Odessa; daughter, Barbara Chester of Cartwright, Okla.; sister, Dolores Lancaster of Odessa; 21 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Auline Brasuel
Midland - Auline Brasuel, 94, of Odessa, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at Hospice House.
Services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.

Odessa - Leon E. “Lonnie” Ferrell Jr., 61, of Arlington, a manager in the computer industry, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at his residence.
Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Andrews - Bill Ogden, 78, of Andrews, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, at Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Charles ‘Buddy’ Burnett
Odessa - Charles “Buddy” Burnett age 74 of Odessa, passed away Monday, November 20, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 23 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors in their chapel with burial following in Sunset cemetery. Rev. Kevin Bushart will be officiating.
Buddy was born in Stonewall, Oklahoma on December 3, 1930. He came to Odessa in 1949 from Ada, Oklahoma. He married Dorothy Arledge, May 20, 1965 in Lamesa, TX.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and an active member of the West Texas Jazz Society.
Survivors include 2 sons, and one daughter
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Bertha Morgan Matthews
Odessa - Bertha Morgan Matthews, our beloved Mother and Granny went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 21, 2005. She was born March 25, 1923 in Arlington.
She was a presence equaled by none and loved by many. She took much joy in the love that she had for her great-grandchildren: Landon, Austin, Conor, Tyler, Johnny, Sydney, McKinzie, Sheridan, Cole, Chance and a new great-grandbaby on the way. Perhaps our Granny’s greatest legacy is that of her surviving children, Mel Wilson of Midland, Jim Wilson of Midland and Joyce Thompson of Odessa. Her life was one of strength and perseverence, but ultimately of the love she had for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell & Mattie Kading, first husband Johnny Wilson, grandson, Shawn Wilson, one sister & 3 brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Matthews of Midland, sons, Mel Wilson & wife Brenda & Jimmy Wilson & wife Sherry all of Midland, daughter, Joyce Thomspon of Odessa, (8) Grandchildren, Mike Wilson & wife Freda, Kevin Wilson & wife Leslie all of Midland, Michelle Owens & husband Don, Rocki Hughes & husband Chris, Shannon Quigley & husbnd Paul, David Wilson & wife Brandy all of Odessa & Melissa Keith & husband Erbin of San Diego, CA. and (10) great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m.. Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers Memorials may be sent to Hospice House, 906 N. Sam Houston, Odessa 79761.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Troy Lon Moore
Odessa - Troy Lon Moore was born April 18, 1935, to Lon and Betty (Tucker) Moore in Hall County, Texas. He is survived by wife, Delfina “Dell” Moore of the home, one son, Jefferson Moore of San Angelo, TX; daughter, Martha Brookshire of Ballinger, TX, step-daughter, Milinda Navarette of San Angelo, TX, and a step-son, Ben Villaloboz; and three grandchildren.
His parents, and his first wife, Nancy Moore, all preceded him in death.
He attended High School at Memphis, TX and received a B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1966 and in 1961 he was in the Nike Hercules Missile Field and later discharged as a Sergeant.
In 1966, he was employed by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission as an enforcement field agent and then retired. He was stationed in Big Spring, Midland, and Odessa. From 1977 to 1988, he was stationed in a one man outpost, responsible for Reeves, Pecos and Terrell Counties.
In 1988, he was appointed the Chief of Police in Pecos, Texas and served there for ten years.
From 1998 to 2005, he was employed as a federal court security officer, responsible for inner and outer security at the Midland Federal Courthouse.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Richie Walker
Odessa - James Richard “Richie” Walker, age 42, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2005, in Odessa. He was born Tuesday, September 24, 1963 in Knox City, Knox County, Texas. His parents are James Ray and Violet (Mc Elyea) Walker. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Richie attended Odessa High School and Odessa College. He loved fishing and always enjoyed playing cards. A fast talker, he loved a good joke and being the center of attention. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past ten years.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother, Violet Walker, two sisters, Denyce Guyer and Tammy Henderson, three nieces, two nephews and seven great nieces and nephews all of Odessa and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Ray Walker.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 2 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa with Brother Roy Jones officiating.

Joanne Delphia Smith
San Angelo - Joanne Delphia Smith, 68, of San Angelo passed away peacefully at her home Sunday morning November 20, 2005.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am-Wednesday, November 23 in St. Paul Presbyterian Church with Rev. Craig Meyers officiating.
Joanne was born July 15, 1937 in San Angelo to Jim and Ila Hegwood Harkey. After graduating from Mertzon High School, she married Clyde Ray Smith. She spent the next 40 years in Odessa as a homemaker and worked twenty years for Wells National TV at Odessa Medical Center where she will be fondly remembered as the “TV Lady”. She returned back to San Angelo a few years ago to take care of her mother.
She was a wonderful daughter!, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were very dear to her and she especially enjoyed cheering them along in all of their sports activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving step-father H. Wayne Pickett.
She is survived by her three sons Ray Smith of Odessa, Blaine Smith and wife Terri of San Angelo and Tim Smith and wife Britt of Mansfield, TX.; three grandchildren Tricia and Ryan of San Angelo and Brooke of Mansfield. She is also survived by two very special cousins Ida May Smith of Odessa and Lou Dell Mayfield of San Angelo.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Hospice of San Angelo, Dr! . Johnny French, Mertzon class of 1955, her special neighbors and her wonderful caring sitter Thelma Huichapa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of San Angelo, St. Paul Presbyterian Church or a favorite charity.

Eloise Robinson
Odessa - Eloise Smith Robinson passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2005, at Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.
She was born on April 13, 1916, in Elton, LA. She was the youngest of ten children, seven girls and three boys, all who preceded her in death.
She graduated from high school in Orange, TX, and later worked as a secretary and in various positions in business, including the Orange Ship Yard during World War II. Prior to her marriage, she was the personal secretary to H.L. Hunt.
She married Outher B. Robinson in 1946, and they were married 37 years until his death in 1983. She moved to West Texas two years ago with her daughter and son-in-law, and resided at Lincoln Towers and then at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Odessa.
Eloise is survived by her daughter, Rev. Nora Fitch and husband, Dr. James Fitch of Odessa; two grandsons, Jeff Bishop and wife, Julie of Wichita, KS, and Joshua Bishop and wife, Leigh Anne of Houston; and three great-granddaughters, Emma, and Allison, both of Wichita, KS, and Olivia Anne of Houston, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Odessa.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2005, at the First Presbyterian Church of Odessa, with Rev. Judye Pistole officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005 in the Houston National cemetery in Houston, TX.
