Odessa -- Benjamin Bernal, 44, died Sunday, July 5, 1998.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vicente Maldonado officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements made by Odessa Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1953, in Mexico.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ana Maria Bernal of Odessa; sons, Benjamin Bernal and Luis Bernal, both of Odessa; daughters, Anabell Bernal of Austin, Rachel Davis, Abigail Bernal, Sara Bernal, Elizabeth Bernal, Victoria Bernal, Regina Bernal, Cristina Campos and Cordelia Quintela, all of Odessa; mother, Gabina Bernal of Odessa; brother, Joe Luis Bernal of Odessa; Rachel Maldonado, Rebecca Guerra, Naomi Booth, Elizabeth Allen, Mary Arenivas, Esther Rodriguez, all of Odessa, and Martha Salcido of San Marcos, Calif., and five grandchildren.

Evejean Blakley

MONAHANS -- Evejean Blakley, 68, died Saturday, July 4, 1998, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 10 :30 a.m. toay at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Klempnauer officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements made by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Cando, N.D.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Sharonann Mullins of Sherman, Bettyann Moore of Monahans and Jennie Lee Jolley of Norman, Okla.; brothers, John Frank of Cando, N.D., George Frank of Hymera, Ind., Lawrence Frank of Corona, Calif.; sisters, Pena Norman of Devils Lake, N.D. and Evilyn Norman of Morrilton, Ark., and eight grandchildren.

Ray Briggs

DAISY, ARK. -- Ray Briggs, 82, a former Odesa resident, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.

Gravesside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Mount Joy cemetery with the Rev. Travis Garnder officiating. Arrangements made by Owens and Brumley Funeral Home.

He was born April 4, 1916, in Shidler, Okla., and had lived in Wichita Falls since 1971.

SURVIVORS: Sons, A.R. "Dick" Briggs of Holliday, Gilbert L. Briggs of Angleton and Sam Briggs of San Antonio; brothers, J.C. Briggs of Bonita Springs, Fla., Louis Briggs of Ponca City, Okla.; sister, Lois London of Ponca City, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Orman Kimbrough IV

ODESSA -- Orman Lanier Kimbrough IV, 50, an orthodontist, died Friday, July 3, 1998, in Odessa.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Stockton Williams officiating. Burial will be at Ash Creek cemetery in Azle. Arrangements made by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born Feb. 9, 1948, in Longview and had lived in Odessa since 1975.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Susan Kimbrough of Odessa; sons, Orman Lanier (Lance) Kimbrough V and Kevin Henry Kimbrough; parents, Orman Lanier and Marjorie Kimbrough of Longview; brother, Kenneth D. Kimbrough of Longview; sister, Laurie Bruce of Austin; grandmother, Mildred Olson of Richmond, Ind.

Liane Miller

ODESSA -- Liane Fonnee Miller, 71, a homemaker, died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Sister Margaret Ledwith officiating. Arrangements made by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Clarksdale, Miss. She had lived in Odessa since 1955.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Barbara Waligura of Houston and Rose Ann Stockwell of Potsdam, N.Y.; seven granchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ted Stoehr

ODESSA -- Ted Stoehr, 81, died Saturday, July 4, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cheryl Homsher officiating. Burial wil be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements made by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born Oct. 9, 1916, in Plattsmouth, Neb. He was a World War II veteran and a Presbyterian.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Harriet Stoehr of Odessa; son, Richard Stoehr of Odessa; daughter, Candy Atwood of Dallas, and four grandchildren.

Sandra Bowen

ODESSA -- Sandra Dianne Daniell Bowen, 49, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Etoil Childers

ODESSA -- Etoil Childers, 81, of Odessa, a retired beautician, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Deerings Nursing Home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. J.W. Hanson and Bill Tatum officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Desdemona and moved to Odessa in 1986 from Kermit. She was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Larry Banowski of Odessa, Fred Bannowsky of Texas; brother, George Putty of Moab, Utah; sister, Mardell Morganthaler of Kermit; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Carl Grissom

ODESSA -- Carl J. Grissom, 83, of Odessa, a retired reverend, died Saturday, July 4, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m .Tuesday at Crescent Park Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Williams officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Dublin, Texas, and moved to Odessa in 1985. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ada Lee Grissom of Odessa; daughter, Maryln Kay Williams of Thornton, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

Virgie Robertson

Services for Virgie Robertson, 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church with Revs. Bruce Troy & Larry Purkey officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Robertson died Tuesday, December 1, 1998 at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. She was born January 24, 1906 in Hopkins County She married Herman Robertson April 15, 1926 in Greenville, Texas.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Beaty and her husband Gerald of Odessa and Sue Jackson & her husband Jim of Daingerfield, Texas; brother, Claude Whitehead of Claremore, Okla.; sister, Juanita Hitchcock of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren & ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parent, Robert & Lillie Whitehead; husband, Herman Robertson; grandson, Wade Kilpatrick; great-grandson, Daniel Beaty; four sisters & three brothers.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Maria Brito

PRESIDIO -- Maria Hernandez Brito, 95, a homemaker, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, in an El Paso hospital.

Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home in Marfa.

She was a lifelong resident of Presidio. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Laurencio Brito of Presidio, Lazaro Brito, Jr. of Alamogordo, N.M., and Arturo Brito of El Paso; daughters, Graciela Abeyta of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Socorro de Anda of El Paso; brothers, Eduardo Hernandez of Irvine, Calif., and Alvaro Hernandez of El Paso; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
