Odessa - Verda Suzanne Copeland, 60, of Odessa, a retired nurse, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Ida Lou.
Survivors Husband, Thomas Copeland of Cortez, Colo.; son, James T. Copeland of Odessa; daughter, Tamara Gabrel of Cortez, Colo.; brother, Homer A. Harrison Jr. of Lubbock; sisters, Bonnie Walker and Eunice Vitatoe, both of Lubbock.
Joe ‘Buddy’ Barton Gerbert
FORT STOCKTON - Joe “Buddy” Barton Gerbert, 68, of Fort Stockton, a plant foreman for Natural Gas, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, in Fort Stockton.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at East Hill cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jim Miles officiating. Arrangements are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Searcy, Ark., and has lived in Fort Stockton since 1939.
SURVIVORS Daughters, Ava Ryan of Port Arkansas, Lisa Seibert of Upland, Calif., and Reanna Wyche of Fort Stockton; brother, Lowell Gerbert of Fort Stockton; sister, Shirley Wells of Mertzon; and five grandchildren.

Fort Stockton - Alfredo Garcia Guzman, 56, of Odessa, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Reuben Reyes officiating. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton.
She was born in Fort Stockton.

Pecos - Julia Marquez, 92, of Pecos, a restaurant owner, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.
Rosary was said Jan. 3 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at noon today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mt. Evergreen cemetery.
She was born in Pecos and was Catholic.
Survivors Son, Alvaro Garcia of Pecos; daughters, Hortencia Garcia Armendarez and Virginia Garcia Flores, both of Pecos; and sisters, Modesta Urquidez of Pecos and Eva Lyles of Monahans.
Narciso Ramirez
MONAHANS - Narciso Ramirez, 80, of Monahans, a musician, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Harkey Family Funeral Services Chapel with Fabian Rodriquez officiating. Burial will be in Mexico. Arrangements are by Harkey Family Funeral Services.
He was born in Sierra Blanca.
Survivors Wife, Maria Ramirez of Monahans; sons, Narciso Ramirez Jr. of Ontario, Canada and Juan Ramirez of Monahans; daughters, Margarita Navarrete and America Garcia, both of Monahans; and Alma Arias of Las Vegas; sister, Felex Ortega of Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Kermit with the Rev. Dudley Mullins officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit.
She was born in Whitbourn, New Foundland, Canada.
SURVIVORS Sons, Barry Randolph and Steven Randolph, both of Kermit; brother, Albert Newhook of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; sister, Ruth Crosby of Corner Brook, New Foundland, Canada; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

He was born in Coryell County, and had lived in Crane for 30 years.
