Sharon Ann Berger Martin
San Angelo - Sharon Ann Berger Martin, 59, passed away Friday, January 6, 2006 in Odessa, TX.
At Sharon’s request, there will not be a funeral service. A private burial was held Monday, January 9, 2006 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are made by Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Sharon was born to I.C. “Cotton” and Loraine Robbins Berger on December 3, 1946 in Odessa, TX.
She lived in Odessa until her marriage to Harvey Hershal Martin, on April 11, 1974, then resided in San Angelo where she lived most of her married life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and in-laws, Hilden and Rosa Lee Martin.
She had two brothers, Richard “Scott” of Odessa and Charles “Berry”, formally of McCamey and their wives; step-children, Randy Martin, Vicki Jones, Cari Price and their spouses. There are five step-grandchildren, four nephews and one niece.
Scott wishes to acknowledge and thank longtime best friend and companion Sandra Kimbrough and husband Jack, best buddy Calvin Barbee and wonderful friend and neighbor Evelyn Vordick.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity or cause of your choice.

Peggy Wilson English
Odessa - Peggy Wilson English, age 71 of Odessa, passed away January 6, 2006 at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland TX. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She had retired from Snyder High School, where she had taught for several years. Some of the activities she was involved in include the following; she was a candy striper at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, she was a member of the Juliet Society, she was a Red Hat Lady, and she was also a member of the OHS ‘52ers.
Peggy moved to Odessa from White Oak, TX in 1949. She then moved to Snyder, TX where she taught school from 1971-1996. After retiring from school teaching, she returned to Odessa in 1996.
Survivors include: 3 sons, Willie English of Odessa, Joe English of Denver City, and David English of Snyder; 1 daughter, Bonnie Dodson of Roswell NM; 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by: her parents Walt and Dot Wilson, and three brothers, Jim, George, and Gordon Wilson.
In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the North Side Baptist Church of Odessa.

Donald Odell Vaughn, Sr.
Odessa - Donald Odell Vaughn passed away Sunday, January 7, 2006 at Regency Hospital. He was born in Grand Saline, Texas on February 3, 1922 to Edward Stanley Vaughn and Ada Irene Boyles. He was married to Dorothy LaVern Kimbrough on December 19, 1946.
Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Cleo Oakley, Buford (Bud) Vaughn and Irene Shelton.
Donald served in the Navy SeaBees during World War II. After his discharge form the Navy he was a salesman for various companies. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner/operator of Permian Vending Company for over 25 years. After his retirement he donated countless hours to volunteer work with many organizations including the VFW where he was a very active member. His greatest joy in his volunteer work was acting as an Honor Guard with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years LaVern ; son, Donald Odell Vaughn, Jr.; daughter, Mary Dunlap and husband Garry; son, David Vaughn and wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Rob Watson, MD, Bryan Watson, Brantley Watson, Mallory Dunlap, Brittany Vaughn, Gerron Vaughn and Grace Vaughn. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.
Services celebrating the life of Mr. Vaughn will be held at 10:00a.m., Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Interment , following immediately, with military honors presented by the VFW Post # 4372 will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Regency Hospital. The care he received there was excellent. But the personal interest they took in him was truly extraordinary. He passed away just as he would have wanted; peacefully watching football on a beautiful Sunday afternoon among friends.

Ann Hall Williams
KINGSLAND - Caroline Ann Hall Williams, 77, of Highland Haven, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2006 following a long illness.
Her cremation and memorial services are entrusted to Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland, Texas.
Her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2006, at the Putnam Funeral Home Chapel, 145 Texas Avenue, Kingsland, Texas 78639, phone (325) 388-0008.
Ann was born September 9, 1928, in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Abilene Senior High School in May 1945. She attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas and Stephen F. Austin State College in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Art degree, in August of 1949. After graduation, she taught elementary school in Snyder, Texas.
Ann married Glenn R. Williams on June 17, 1950 in Abilene, Texas. After marriage, they lived in Dallas, Wichita Falls, and El Paso before settling in Odessa, Texas. Their son, Stephen Williams, was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. Their daughters, Patricia Williams and Caroline Williams were born in Odessa, Texas. In Odessa, Ann was an active member of the Junior Service League, Crystal Ball Foundation, and local bridge clubs.
In 1981, Glenn and Ann bought their Highland Haven home as a weekend lakehouse. By the mid-1980’s, it became their permanent residence. While living there, Ann lovingly took care of her husband, Glenn, after he suffered a major debilitating stroke, until his death in 2003. She was also active in the Highland Haven Ladies Club and the Highland Haven Sewing Club.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Glenn R. Williams, and her stepfather, C.O. Hall. She is survived by her mother, Caroline Hall, of Kingsland, Texas, her son, Stephen Williams and his wife, Patty, of Austin, Texas, her daughter, Patricia Carriker and her husband, Lee, of Boerne, Texas, and her daughter, Caroline Pfefferkorn and her husband, Chris, of Sherwood, Oregon. Surviving grandchildren are Chris Williams of Babenhausen, Germany, Josh Williams of Austin, Texas, Matthew Carriker of College Station, Texas, Mark, Alison, and Andrew Carriker of Boerne, Texas, and Halie and Hunter Pfefferkorn of Sherwood, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Highland Haven Ladies Club at 206 E. Pheasant Road, Highland Haven, Texas 78654, American Cancer Society, or charity of choice.

Doris June Thomason
Kermit - Doris June Thomason, 80, of Odessa, passed away at the Hospice House in Odessa on Monday, January 9, 2006. She was born in Wortham, Freestone County, Texas on Sunday, June 21, 1925 to the late Edward James and Grace Marie (Roundtree) Tidwell. Doris married Ellis Walter Thomason in Brownwood, Texas on November 30, 1942. They were long-time residents of Monahans, Texas. She had made Odessa her home since 1996 and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. She was the matriarch of her family. They all looked up to her for guidance and love. She will be sorely missed.
Doris was preceded in death by her son, Jackie Ray Thomason in 1969, grandson Garry Wayne Thomason (Meme) in 1971; her husband, Ellis “Dub” Thomason, in 2001; her daughter, Cheryl Darlene Thomason Ward, in 2005; her brothers: Billy Ray Tidwell and Bobby James Tidwell, and her grandson, Michael Glenn Gardner.
She is survived by her son: Gary Wayne Thomason and wife Trudy of Odessa, Texas; one daughter: Lisa Kay Thomason of Corpus Christi; two sisters: Anita Joyce Lakey and Linda Kay Tidwell, both of Kermit, Texas; three brothers: Kenneth Edward Tidwell of Andrews, Texas; Donald Lee Tidwell of Bedford, Texas; and Nobel (Teddy) Glenn Tidwell of Odessa, Texas; four grandchildren: Leslyn Marie Kelso of Odessa, Texas, David Dwight Thomason of Odessa, Texas, Jacquline Kristine West of Odessa, Texas, and Christi Loretta Kurtz of Allen, Texas; six great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jeremy, Megan, Emily, Lizzy, and Quinten; her beloved pet and companion, “Chloe”; and too many nieces and nephews to mention.
Services to honor Doris’ memory were held on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at the Family Services Funeral Parlor Chapel at 2:00 pm. Pallbearers were: John David, Ronnie Tidwell, Danny Tidwell, John Ford, Eddie Tidwell, and Eric Tidwell. Honorary Pallbearers included Ray Henley and Ben Keele. Interment followed at Kermit cemetery.

Elena G. Bernal
Odessa - Elena G. Bernal, age 76, of Odessa, Tx., passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Hospice House in Odessa.
She was born on August 18, 1929 in San Jose to Francisco and Paz Orona Gomez.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She married her life long partner, Cruz Bernal Jr. with whom she wrote many memories in the tablets of time. She did not just build her house with her husband but also built a loving relationship with her grandchildren who saw her as a loving mother.
A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today, April 28, 2006, at Martinez-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Uecker officiating and music by Mariachi Harmonia.
She is survived by her husband, Cruz P. Bernal Jr. of Odessa; son, Johnny Bernal of Odessa; daughter, Carol Flores of Odessa; brothers, Alvino Gomez and Frank Gomez, both of Odessa; and sisters, Katie Villesca of Pecos and Vickie Gomez of Odessa; five grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Eddie Bustamante.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her, but her memory will remain in our hearts for many years to come.
Ronald ‘Ron’ Dowell
Odessa Ronald “Ron” Dowell 56, of Odessa passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006 at his residence.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday in the Frank Wilson Chapel with Rev. David Wyantt officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Ron was born in Odessa, Texas on September 24, 1949 to Roy and Jewell Craig Dowell.
He worked at Bentaub Hospital in Houston.
He is survived by his son Dustin Dowell of Houston, daughter Jennifer Dowell Cortez of Houston, mother Jewell Dowell of Odessa, sister Janet Lee and husband Gary of Odessa, grandchildren Jacob, Elysia and Kara.

Terry Todd Hill
Odessa - Terry Todd Hill - Terry went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2006.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believeth in him should not die but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
Terry was born Sept. 17, 1961 at Vandenburg Air Force Base, CA. She graduated from Permian High School in 1979. She attended Odessa College. She worked as an office manager at her family owned business Dennard & Todd Overhead Doors. Terry had a big heart, beautiful smile and loved all those around her. Terry was a dedicated wife and a wonderful mother. Terry was her mother’s best friend and dad’s little girl. She leaves behind many friends and family who will dearly miss her.
Survivors include; husband Mike Hill, one daughter, Macy Jane Hill. She is also survived by her parents, Connie and Barbara Todd of Odessa, two brothers, Lance and Troy Todd of Odessa. Several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews who will miss their “Little Aunt Terry”, her kind heart, her laughter.
Family visitation will held from 6-8 pm, Friday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brady Todd, Skyler Smith, David Chappel, Mike Sharp, Gilbert Rameriz and Jason Riley.

Sterling L. Proctor
Odessa - Sterling L. Proctor 75 of Odessa passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital after a long battle with lung disease.
A private memorial service will be held for the family with Rev. Kevin Bushart officiating.
Sterling was born in Cisco, Texas on August 30, 1930 to J.E. and Ima (Leveridge) Proctor. He married Vesta Marie Mitchell on February 17, 1951 in Cisco, Texas. He worked for El Paso Products and retired in 1986. He was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father and half-sister.
He is survived by his wife Vesta Marie Proctor of Odessa; son Dennis Proctor and wife Nancy of Conroe; daughter Judy Elkins and husband David of Odessa; brothers J.E. Proctor of Abilene, Melvin Proctor of Houston; half-sisters Mary Whitehead, Opal Knapp; grandchildren Zachary Proctor, Hillary Proctor, Shane Elkins and Shawn Elkins, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Anna Myrl Love
Baird - Anna Myrl Love, of Grove Place, Danbury, wife of the late Brother Herbert Love, died at Harborside Glen Hill on Wednesday, April 26th. She was born in Baird, Texas, on November 23, 1918, daughter of the late Aaron M. and Clara A. (Price) Bell.
Mrs. Love worked as a secretary for Attorney Kenneth Griffin; alongside her husband at Love Insurance Agency, and for Zavala Elementary School, all in Odessa, TX. She also worked for the Coahoma Insurance Agency.
She was a devout member of the Church of Christ, traveling with her husband to many places throughout West Texas in support of his ministry. She taught Bible classes to students of all ages and also instructed many teachers in Bible Study.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Martha “Marti” Hopper and her husband James of Danbury; her nine grandchildren, Michael Hopper, M.D. and his wife, Rita, of VA, Paul Hopper and his wife, Ruth, of TX, Daniel Hopper and his wife, Kelly, of TX., Todd Love, Leigh Ann Love, and Leslie Love, all of Shreveport, LA., Beverly Love of NY., Laura Lasher and her husband, Jeff, of TN., and Carol Love of GA; and her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Donna Love and Sue White; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two sons, Dwight and Michael Love.
The family will receive friends at Parker Funeral Home, 141 East 3rd Street in Baird on Sunday, April 30th between the hours of 2:30 and 4:00 pm.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 pm at Ross cemetery Annex.

Mary Ann Suitt
April 12, 1933 – April 27, 2006
Odessa - Mary Ann Suitt 73, passed away early Thursday a Medical Center Hospital. She was born April 12, 1933 in Waxahachie, Texas.
She attended Odessa High School and married Darrel Wayne “Snuffy” Suitt December 31, 1949.
Mary was widowed at a young age and after raising her three children, she attended Odessa, College and was graduated as an L.V.N. in 1976. She worked for ORH until her retirement in 1998.
Mary was quiet kind woman with many interests. She had a flair with crafts and enjoyed fabric painting. She won ribbons at the fair several times for the beautiful items she created. She loved to read, especially suspenseful murder mysteries, and could always recommend a good book. Mary loved to travel and tour interesting places. She also enjoyed collecting beautiful dolls and curios, but she was best known for the collection of her beloved cats, most of whom she rescued. She often liked to refer to herself as “the crazy cat lady.”
Mary was also a very accomplished “home-cooking” cook — no one could make better gravy than she could!
Our Mary was preceded in death by her parents, M.H. and Estelle Fox; her beloved husband Wayne (Snuffy) Suitt; a grandson James Eric Suitt; and a sister, Betty Cox.
She is survived by her children: Marshall Suitt, of Odessa; Marilyn Pittman, of Ft. Worth; and Margaret Lowery-Grove and her husband Bo, of Lubbock. She is also survived by grandchildren: Carissa Partridge and husband Curt, of Iowa Park, Tx; Brody Suitt of Baytown; Amy Suitt of Ft. Worth; Joshua Pittman and fiancee Mary, of Ft. Worth; and Miranda Lowery and fiance Anthony, of Lubbock. Also great-grandchildren: Chloe and Cater Partridge, of Iowa Park, Tx.; Makala Lowery and Jaeten Dixon, of Lubbock. Mary is also survived by her sister: Gene Williams of Safford, Arizona; Bonnie Houston of Alto, Texas; Sandra Barker of Odessa; Cheryle Stack of Jeannette, Pennsylvania; and one brother Marchall H. (Bud) Fox, of California; and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom adored their sweet Aunt Mary. She is also survived by dear friend, Carole Medlock.
Mary was a faithful Christian and attended Friendship Baptist Church.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Naidu and staff, and Dr. Renuka Borra and Staff of the West Texas Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Humane Society, Odessa or Harmony Home of Odessa.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
