Aubrey Shepherd

ODESSA -- Aubrey L. Shepherd, 80, of Odessa, a retired employee of Texas Department of Transportation, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Polk County, Ark. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Eda Shepherd of Odessa; daughter, Patricia Mayo of Odessa; sister, Avis Carter of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jo Terry

DENVER CITY -- Jo Terry, 66, of Midland, a retired licensed vocational nurse, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Manor Park Nursing Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Terry Callis officiating. Burial will be at Denver City Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

She was born in Allen, Okla., and moved to Denver City in 1951. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Glenn E. Terry of Midland and Charles L. Terry of Kermit; sisters, Carmelita Kimbrell of Holdenville, Okla., Virginia Sanders of Atwood, Okla., Mary McPherson of Duncan, Okla., and Ruby Rowsey of Allen, Okla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Eusebio Vejil

ODESSA -- Eusebio Gomez Vejil, 85, of Crane died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. today at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Fort Stockton.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Elidia T. Vejil of Crane; sons, Emilio Vejil of Corvallis, Ore., Adan Vejil of Odessa, Eusebio Vejil Jr. of San Antonio and Freddy Gavia-Vejil of Midland; daughters, Narcie Herrera of Fruitland, Ind., and Eva Garcia of Odessa; brothers, F. Jesus Vejil of Kermit, Gabriel Vejil of Long Beach, Calif., and Jose Manuel Vejil of Anthony, N.M.; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bascome Webb

MARFA -- Bascome N. Webb, 81, of Marfa, a retired business owner, died Friday, April 9, 1999, at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Marfa cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Clyde and moved to Marfa in 1938. He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Darlyne Freeman of Marfa; son, Ronald Nelson Webb of Marfa; sisters, Bess Gorman of Spokane, Wash., Amy Faircloth of Clyde, Irma Canada of Baird, and Martie Batley and Betty Farmer, both of Abilene; brothers, Brit Webb and Bill Webb, both of Marfa, Sam Webb of Silver City, N.M., Joe Webb of Dallas, Charlie Webb of Hibbing, Minn., and Gerald Webb of Guntersville, Ala.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Willa Bailey

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Willa Mae Bailey, 77, of Stone Mountain, Ga., died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Harrell’s Funeral Home.

Emorine Wilson

ODESSA -- Emorine Wilson, 70, of Odessa died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at her residence.

Services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

Velma Bell

PECOS -- Velma Verne Bell, 90, of Odessa, a retired secretary, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Avalon Place.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Fairview cemetery with the Rev. Willis Greer officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Eastland County and came to Odessa five years ago from Pecos, where she had lived since 1936. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Patsy Beauchamp of Pecos and Sonnye Dingler of Odessa; son, Bobby Bell of Odessa; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

W.K. Blakney

STRAWN -- W.K. "Bill" Blakney, 76, of Odessa, a retired warehouseman, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Mount Marion cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa and Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.

He was born in Strawn. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Dean Blakney of Odessa; son, Kenney E. Blakney of Oklahoma City; daughter, Sara Kay Doherty of Deritter, La.; stepsons, Harry E. King of Hawley and Gaylon King of Victoria; sister, Doris Hodgkins of Strawn; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Carolyn Brasfield

ODESSA -- Carolyn Virginia Allen Brasfield, 75, of Odessa, a retired executive secretary, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Melvin Warren officiating. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Spartanburg, S.C. and moved to Odessa 49 years ago from Kilgore.

SURVIVORS: Son, Otis E. Brasfield Jr. of Odessa; brother, Edward L. Allen of Lakeland, Fla.; and sister, Jean Allen Scherer of Atlanta, Ga.

Louise Line

ODESSA -- Louise Line, 86, of Odessa, a retired teacher, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Seabury Nursing Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Hawk officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Gordon and was a longtime resident of Odessa. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Nephews, Charles Edwards of Houston and Don Edwards of Springfield, Va.; and a niece, Barbara Edwards of Austin.

Lucinda Marruffo

PECOS -- Lucinda N. Marruffo, 67, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today and Sunday at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Manual Munoz officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Danny Marruffo, Israel Marruffo, Salvador Marruffo, Arturo Marruffo and Noel Marruffo, all of Pecos; daughters, Guadalupe Marruffo and Lourdes Eloisa Machuca, both of Pecos; brothers, Severo Natividad of Pecos and Julian Natividad of Phoenix; sisters, Rosemary Ramirez and Estella Rodriguez, both of Pecos, and Juanita Castenada and Lenor Natividad, both of Arizona; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Jackie Buffalo

SEMINOLE -- Jackie Buffalo, 54, of Seminole died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Memorial Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Isabel Villanueva

MARFA -- Isabel Villanueva, 85, of Fort Davis died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at her residence.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Demetrio Ponce officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery in Fort Davis. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home of Marfa.

She was born in Fort Davis. She was Catholic.
