Johnnie Leslie

ODESSA -- Johnnie Leslie, 85, of Odessa, a retired rigger and heavy equipment operator, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Revs. Jarvis Philpot and Emmett Barnard officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Carthage.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Cornell Leslie of Odessa; sons, Jay M. Leslie of Odessa and John T. Leslie of Longview; daughter, Pasty R. Albertson of Jal, N.M.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Alice Lynch

ODESSA -- Alice Lee Lynch, 60, of Odessa, a nurse’s assistant, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at her residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Matador and had lived in Odessa for 43 years. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Tomasa Deon Lynch of Odessa; father, Calvin Lynch of San Antonio; sisters, Linda Carol Lynch, Willie Jean Anderson and Annie Louise Lynch, all of Odessa.

Treva Marler

ODESSA -- Treva J. Marler, 64, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Mountainburg, Ark., and moved to Odessa 46 years ago from Oberlin, La.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Valrey Marler of Odessa; son, Theron Valrey Marler of Odessa; daughters, Tammy Murati and Cynthia Trevizo, both of Odessa; mother, Ruby Osburne of Odessa; brother, Clarence Osburne of Odessa; sisters, Donna Brown, Elva Blackmon and Laberta Martin, all of Odessa; and seven grandchildren.

Simona Porras

KERMIT -- Simona Porras, 62, of Kermit, a homemaker, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.

She was born in Redford and was a lifelong resident of Kermit. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Concepcion Porras of Kermit; son, Leo Porras of Kermit; daughters, Elvira Porras of Fort Worth, Sabina Vejil and Sylvia Jeffery, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., Guadalupe Rubio and Nancy Carrasco, both of Kermit, Rosa Brown, Connie Garcia and Rachel Garcia, all of Monahans, and Marge Stephenson of Arlington; brothers, Raul Lara, Manuel Lopez and Albino Lara, all of Kermit, Isaac Ramirez of Andrews and Joe Lara of Odessa; 33 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

H.M. Wright

CRANE -- H.M. Wright, 73, of Crane, a retired gas plant superintendent, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Crane. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kendall Chapel cemetery near Whitesboro in Grayson County. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Homes & Chapel.

He was born in Pottsboro. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Tom Wright and Eddy Wright, both of Crane; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Wingate

ODESSA -- Mary Maxine Wingate, 93, of Odessa, a retired nurse, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at her residence.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Johnnie Dickerson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Capitol Memorial Park in Austin. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Elgin. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Betty Jean Orbeck of Odessa; one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

Vernon Wright

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. -- Vernon Keith Wright, 64, of Odessa, a retired oilwell drilling superintendent, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, in Odessa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Michael’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Terry Douglass officiating. Burial will be at Stroud City cemetery in Stroud, Okla. Arrangements by Michael’s Funeral Home.

He was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and moved to Odessa in 1963. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jacqueline Wright of Odessa; daughter, Georgina Rita Wright of Odessa; brothers, Claude Wright of Tulsa, Okla., Phillip Wright of Okmulgee, Okla., Roger Wright of Drumright, Okla., Steven Wright of Lawton; sisters, JoAnn Ritter of Cushing, Okla., Deloras Gardner of Broken Arrow, Okla., Sylvia Hillhouse of Drumright, Okla., and Audry Gibbs of Price.

Mark Marshall

ODESSA -- Mark Tejerina Marshall, 37, of Tulia died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, in Tulia.

Services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

Ruby Huffman

HOLDENVILLE, Okla. -- Ruby Irwin Huffman, 95, of Odessa, a retired clothing store employee, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Avalon Place Nursing Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Holdenville cemetery. Local arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Indian Territory, Okla. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Sister, Lorene Notley of Odessa.

John Pearson

ANDREWS -- John Aaron Pearson, 15, of Andrews, a student, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Henson officiating. Burial will be at Andrews West cemetery.

He was born in Andrews. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Parents, John Michael and Donna Pearson of Andrews; sister, Kelli Pearson of Andrews; grandparents, Phyllis Stone of Lamesa, Gene and Sarah Pearson of Andrews and Jack Sutherland of Odessa.

Howard Salisbury

BIG SPRING -- Howard "Skeeter" Salisbury, 78, of Big Spring, a retired hospital administrator, died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Williamson officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born in North Ridgeville, Ohio, and moved to Big Spring from Fort Stockton. He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ruth Salisbury of Big Spring; daughters, Anne Gilley and Kay Castle, both of Midland, and Betty Kithcart of Phoenix; son, Tom Salisbury of Bellevue, Wash.; sister, Laura Bainbridge of Mesa, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

Kathryn Bosch

ODESSA -- Kathryn Bosch, 81, of Odessa died Friday, March 26, 1999, at her residence.

Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
