Barbara Dix
TUNIS -- Barbara Jean Dix, 61, of Los Angeles, a retired Los Angeles Police Department employee, died June 22, 1998, at the Centinela Medical Hospital in Inglewood, Calif.
Services were held at Old Bethlehem Baptist Church in Tunis June 29, 1998, with the Rev. Anthony Ross officiating. Burial was at the Oakwood cemetery in Bryan. Jones and Washington Mortuary in Bryan made arrangements.
She was born in Tunis and was Baptist.
Survivors: Mother, Helen Evans Dix of Bryan; son, Alvin Martin of Fort Washington, Md.; daughter, Yolanda Martin of Bryan; sisters Hiawath Dix Godine and Beulah Gregg Hutchison of Odessa; and brother, Lawrence Gregg of Oakland, Calif.

Robbin Harris
MILES -- Robin Harris, 33, of Miles, a homemaker, died Thursday, July 8, 1998.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Tingle officiating. Burial will be at Miles cemetery. Arrangements by Johnson's Funeral Home San Angelo.
She was born in Odessa.
Survivors: Sons, Terrel Harris and Jerrad Harris of Miles; parents, Lonnie and Izetta McKinney of Odessa; brothers, Lonnie McKinney, Jimmy McKinney and Clinton McKinney all of Odessa; and sister Cheri Cmerek of Miles.

Gordon Hulin
COLEMAN -- Gordon J. Hulin, 75, of Leaday, a retired oil field salesman, died Sunday, July 5, 1998, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Marks Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Setzer officiating. Internment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens of Odessa. Arrangements made by Walker Funeral Home in Coleman.
He was born in New Iberia, La., and lived in Odessa until two years ago. He was a U.S. Marine in World War II.
Survivors: Sons, Mark Hulin of Odessa, and Paul Hulin of San Antonio; brothers, Warren Hulin of New Iberia, La. And Chester Hulin, of Beaumont; five grandchildren.

Eileen Betts
ODESSA -- Eileen Betts, 65, of Odessa, died Friday, July 10, 1998, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Lester Decker
FORT STOCKTON -- Lester A. Decker, 69, of Fort Stockton, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jeff Witcher and Glen Harlan officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. at Terry County cemetery in Brownfield. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Hamlin and moved to Fort Stockton in 1981. He was Baptist.
Survivors: Wife, Gladys Decker of Fort Stockton; son, Danny Decker of Brownfield; daughters, Leslie Neill of Brownfield, Debbie Liles of Big Spring and Stacie Decker of Denver City; sister, Jewell Key of Abilene; and six grandchildren.

Alfred Huelster
BALMORHEA -- Alfred Huelster, 63, of Pecos, a farmer, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Odessa Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Balmorhea cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Balmorhea and moved to Pecos in 1977 and had served in the U.S. Army. He was Methodist.
Survivors: Sons, Kim P. Huelster of Frith and Michael L. Huelster of Amarillo; daughter, Vickie Lee Natharius of Silver City, N.M.; sisters, Valeta Mae Hulsey of Homeland, Calif., and Gladys Rose hunter of Midland; and two grandchildren.

Katie Dickenson
LAMESA -- Katie Dickenson, 83, of Stanton, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, Big Spring.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Branon Funeral Home with the Rev. David Harp officiating. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park. Arrangements by Branon Funeral Home Inc.
She was born in Comanche County and moved to Stanton in 1988. She was Baptist.
Survivors: Sons, Delbert Dickenson of Stanton and Eddie Dickenson of Beaumont; daughter, Nancy Amonett of Odessa; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren.

Sue Alford
ODESSA -- Sue Elizabeth Tabor Alford, 93, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, July 10, 1998, in Coleman County.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Troy officiating. Internment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Survivors: Daughter, Raquel Marquez of Odessa; and sister, Allie Pearl Tabor of Borger.

Franklin Whitley
GAINSVILLE -- Franklin Whitley, 63, of Gainsville, a retail grocery store owner, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at Gainsville Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Clement-Keel Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Clement-Keel Funeral Home.
He was born in Ballinger and was Lutheran.
Survivors: Mother, Emma B. Whitley; son, Terry Whitley of Burleson; sister, Dorothy Kyle of Gainesville; brother, Dean Whitley of Fort Stockton; and three grandchildren.

Edna Hebel
ODESSA -- Edna Clara Hebel, 90, of Odessa, died Friday, July 10, 1998, at her residence.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Joy with the Rev. Dean Kelm officiating. Internment will be Thursday in Bethlehem Lutheran cemetery in Upham, N.D. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Upham, N.D., and moved to Odessa from Los Angeles. She was Lutheran.
Survivors: Daughter, Earlene Lagow of Odessa; sisters Esther Johnson of Minot, N.D., and Viola Larson of Auburn, Wash.; and one granddaughter.

Travis Thompson
ODESSA -- Travis "Bud" Thompson, 58, of Odessa, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Kathryn Strempke officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Gorman and moved to Odessa in 1946. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church.
Survivors: Wife, Marjorie Thornton of Odessa; sons, Greg Thornton and Jeffrey Thornton both of Odessa; brother, Tommie Thornton of Gatesville and Eddie Thornton of Odessa; sisters, June Henry of Wallberg, S.C., Vicki L. Williams of Odessa, Nancy Goddard of Quinlan and Ann Sherrill of Robert Lee.

Ola Copeland
ODESSA -- Ola Pearl Copeland, 77, of Odessa, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Odessa Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, in the Winters Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Briley officiating. Burial will be at Wingate cemetery. Arrangements by Winters Funeral Home.
She was born in Wingate and was a Church of Christ member.
Survivors: Husband, Lee Copeland of Odessa; sons, Ross McCarty of Yukon, Okla., Billy McCarty of Odessa and Steven McCarty of Odessa; daughters, Rhonda Kay McCurrin and Kathy Gibson, both of Odessa; sister, Mearl Adcock of Odessa; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Edith Hollowell
SWEETWATER -- Edith Hollowell, 88, of Sweetwater, a homemaker, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Garden of Memories. Arrangements by Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home Chapel.
She was born in Havana, Ark., and moved to Texas in 1925. She was Baptist.
Survivors: Sons, George L. Hollowell of Sweetwater and Edward Hollowell of Marble Falls; daughter, Dorothy Bryant of Sweetwater; sister, Odessa Andrews of Lufkin; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
