Keith Patterson

ANDREWS — Keith R. Patterson, infant son of Russell and LeAnn Patterson, of Andrews died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Andrews North Babyland cemetery with the Rev. H.A. Hanks officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Andrews.

SURVIVORS: Parents; brother, Draven Patterson of Andrews; grandparents, Clayton Penney and Glenda Ivy, both of Andrews and Regena Derrick of Mentone; great-grandparents, Charles Patterson, Martha Patterson and Wanda Penney, all of Andrews; and great-great-grandparent, Leila Craeger of Kermit.

Jesus Flores

MARFA — Jesus P. Flores, 78, of Marfa, a retired machine operator, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in an Odessa hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Demetrio Ponce officiating. Burial will be at Merced cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Presidio and moved to Marfa in 1960. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Flores of Marfa; sons, Alfredo Flores, Homer Flores and Hector Flores, all of Odessa, and Jesus Flores Jr. of Presidio; daughters, Olga Miller of El Paso, Aurora Tarango of Amarillo, Delia Magallanez of Odessa and Olivia Barker of Marfa; 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Inamell Nettles

GROESBECK — Inamell White Nettles, 79, of Groesbeck, a homemaker and retired cook, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Groesbeck Rehab Center.

Services were held Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Vernon Neely and Garth Landtroop officiating. Burial was at Cobb cemetery in Thornton. Arrangements by Groesbeck Funeral Home Inc.

She was born in Groesbeck and was a long-time resident of Odessa. She was a Pentecostal.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Patricia Collins of Groesbeck; sisters, Frankie Merle Lewis and Billie Jean Casey, both of Old Union, and Willie Dean Wicht of Groesbeck; brother, J.C. White of Groesbeck; two grandchildren.

Mary Phillips

ODESSA — Mary Norene Phillips, 73, of Odessa, a retired nurse’s aide, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Deerings Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Johnny Witherspoon officiating. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Nashville, Tenn., and was a 49-year resident of Odessa. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Barbara Evans and Linda M. Phillips, both of Odessa, and Jeanetta Janca of Houston; sons, Earnest Phillips of Odessa and David Phillips of San Antonio; brother, J.W. King of Ashland City, Tenn.; sisters, Ione Arnold of Odessa and Stella Chipley of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

William Shillinglaw

YORK, S.C. — William Clarence Shillinglaw Jr., 66, of York, S.C., a retired director of computer services for Rexene, died Friday, March 19, 1999, at his residence.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. Todd Speed officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery in York, S.C. Arrangements by York Funeral Home.

He was born in York, S.C. and was a former resident of Odessa. He was an Air Force veteran. He was Presbyterian.

SURVIVORS: Sons, William Clarence Shillinglaw III of Rock Hill, S.C., and Scott Donnan Shillinglaw of Charlotte, N.C.; and daughter, Lisa Shillinglaw Evans of York, S.C.

Goldie Spurgeon

SAPULPA, Okla. — Goldie Mae Spurgeon, 85, of Mustang, Okla., a retired postal worker, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in Mustang, Okla.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at South Heights cemetery Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Stan Cosby officiating. Arrangements by McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Home.

She was born in Mounds, Okla., and lived in Goldsmith, Texas from 1946 until 1989.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Leo Spurgeon of Mustang, Okla.; daughter, Doris Smith of Mustang, Okla.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Caden-Craig Strain

MIDLAND — Caden-Craig Ray Strain, infant son of Meredith Lauren Jumper and Jeffrey Ray Strain, of Midland died Tuesday, March 16, 1999.

Graveside services were held Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Charlie Dodd officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

He was born in Midland.

SURVIVORS: Parents; and grandparents, Jay and Patsy Berry, Rick and Nancy Jumper and Oscar and Linda Strain, all of Midland.

James Stubbs

WIMBERLY — James Donald Stubbs, 69, of Austin died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.

Services were held Saturday, March 6, 1999, in Wimberly. Arrangements by All Faith Funeral Service.

He was born in Spring Creek.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Kenneth Stubbs and Tim Stubbs, both of Colorado; daughter, Treva Carsell of Flagstaff, Ariz.; sisters, Joy Garrett of Hamilton and Jane Hatch of Odessa; brothers, Jay Stubbs of Odessa and Leroy Stubbs of Canyon Lake; and numerous grandchildren.

Horace Triggs

ODESSA — Horace Triggs, 74, of Odessa, a landscaper, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in Odessa.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Church of God in Christ with Elder James Porter officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was borin in Odessa and was a 50-year resident of Odessa after moving from Smithville.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Arko Triggs of Odessa; sons, Burnett Johnson, Rayfield Johnson and Joe David Johnson, all of Odessa, Billy Roy Conner and James Conners, both of Austin; daughters, Christine Johnson, Elizabeth Choyce, Lee Ann Johnson and Angie Denice Johnson, all of Odessa; brothers, John T. Peterson of Odessa, Robert T. Peterson and Lawrence Peterson, both of Houston, and Louis Triggs of Ballinger; sisters, Emma Mae Woodkins of Oakland, Calif., Ida Mae Dalbert of El Paso and Julia Mae Jameson of San Diego.

Arturo Valenzuela

PECOS — Arturo Calderon Valenzuela, 46, of Fort Stockton, a carpenter, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Fort Stockton and was a lifelong resident. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Yolanda Valenzuela of Fort Stockton; sons, Omar Valenzuela of Odessa, Izaak Valenzuela and Nathanial Valenzuela, both of Rockport, Maine, Luis Fernando Caro and Gerardo Caro, both of Fort Stockton; mother, Eugenia Valenuela of Fort Stockton; brothers, Emilio Valenzuela of Fort Worth and Alfredo Valenzuela of Houston; sisters, Ameila Taylor and Carolina Lopez, both of Fort Stockton, and Estella Prado of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Guillermo Vasquez

ODESSA — Guillermo S. Vasquez, 75, of Odessa, a retired roofer, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Kennedy.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Ray Vasquez and Robert Vasquez, both of Odessa, and Guillermo Vasquez Jr. of Grandbury; daughters, Dorthey Martinez, Anna Marie Brown and Elva Marie Gomez, all of Benbrook; brothers, Jesus Vasquez and Santos Vasquez, both of Odessa, Servando Vasquez of Las Cruces, N.M., David Vasquez of Nogales, Ariz., and Lupe Vasquez of Corpus Christi; sisters, Pilar Valdez of Lubbock, Guadalupe Pena of Houston and Melchora Florez of Anaheim, Calif.; and 23 grandchildren.
