ODESSA — Carol Wiseman, 39, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Ector County cemetery with the Rev. Margaret Ledwith officiating. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Ohio.
SURVIVORS: Son, Paul Wiseman and Billy Wiseman, both of Sidney, Ohio.
Jake Yates
ODESSA — Jake Yates, 84, of Odessa, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel.
He was born in Detroit and moved to Odessa in 1934 from Lovington. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Stella Birchfield of Houston; son, Steve Yates of Houston; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Wayne Brown
CRANE — Wayne Burman Brown, 83, of Crane, a retired Chevron employee, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Crane County Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Craig and Raquel Mull officiating. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.
He was born in Hastings. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mabel Loving Brown of Crane; son, Harold "Hal" Brown of Trumbell, Conn.; sister, Iris Brown Darrington of Alexandria, Va.; and one grandson.
Glenda Carroll
ANDREWS — Glenda Carroll, 45, of Andrews, a retired nurse’s aide, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Andrews Church of Christ with Les McGalliard officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Edmonton, Ky.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Jon Carroll of Andrews; son, Kevin Carroll of Andrews; daughters, Sarah Carroll and Kim Carroll, both of Andrews; brothers, Michael Smith and Mark Smith, both of Andrews, and Ronnie Smith of Seminole.
June Griffith
MINERAL WELLS — June Griffith, 76, of Weatherford, a homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Windsor Retirement Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at White’s Chapel with the Rev. Roy Brewton officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Park. Arrangements by White’s Funeral Home.
She was born in Lexington, Okla., and had lived in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Husband, R.C. "Sheep" Griffith of Weatherford; sons, Michael Lee Griffith of Weatherford, Duane Clark Griffith of Denton and Leonard Duane Griffith of Odessa; daughter, Carma Lee Yancey of Odessa; and sister, Fern Leona Webster of Mexia.
David Martinez Sr.
MONAHANS — David C. Martinez Sr., 91, of Monahans, a maintenance worker, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at her residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
He was born in Carrizo, N.M. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Willie Martinez of Monahans; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Susie Talley
HOBBS, N.M. — Susie Ruth Talley, 91, of Hobbs, N.M., a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Memorial Healthcare Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Prairie Haven cemetery. Arrangements by Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
She was born in Everman and lived in Hobbs, N.M., for three years. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, A.J. Talley of Odessa, Rodger Talley of Dallas and Bob Loffler of Seminole; daughters, Violet Lyons and Betty Roach, both of Hobbs, N.M., Vivian Vann of Odessa; sister, Mildred Lewis of Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Bill Whisenhunt
BURNET COUNTY — Bill Whisenhunt, 75, of Kingsland, a heavy equipment operator, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes Inc.
He was born in Berwyn, Okla., and moved to Kingsland from Merkel three years ago. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Philious Whisenhunt of Kingsland; daughters, Penni Kincaid of Sunrise Beach, Fay Brady and Peggy Bishop, both of Marble Falls; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mary Torres
ALPINE — Mary Alice Mendias Torres, 71, of Alpine, a homemaker, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at a local medical center.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Angels cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.
She was born in Marfa.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Manuel Torres Sr., of Alpine; sons, Vivian Torres of Gregory and Manuel Torres Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Susie Hinojos of Alpine and Linda Petronelli of Warren, Ohio; brothers, Domingo Mendias and Benjamin Mendias, both of Van Horn, and Enrique Mendias of El Paso; sisters, Estefana Spitzer of Marfa, Apolinar Delgadillo of Arizona and Josefina Rodrigues of Odessa; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

AUSTIN — Earl Sims, 90, of Austin, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Regency Village Nursing Home.

Johnny Johnson Sr.
POST — Johnny E. "Cowboy" Johnson Sr., 87, of Lubbock, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Lubbock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Homer L. Avery and Ross Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Terrace cemetery. Arrangements by Hudman Funeral Home.
He was born in Independence and moved to Lubbock in 1996 from Post.
