Edward Lee Lewis

ODESSA — Edward Lee Lewis, 67, of Midland went to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy battle with his heart.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Lewis was born May 7, 1933 in Donna, Texas, to Ira & Della Lewis, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Lewis married Gladys Lewis June 1, 1952 and worked and retired at El Paso Products in Odessa.

Survivors include his wife and best friend, Gladys Lewis of Midland, sons, Eddie Lewis Jr. & wife Julie, Mike Lewis and wife Beth Anne, daughters, Cathy Betzel, Sharon Burns and husband Buddy, sister, Helen Kirkpatrick of Andrews, known and loved as Papa to them were his grandchildren, Adam, Mandy, Amy, Stefanie, Lindsey, Sara, Karissa, Bobby, Tiffany, Dakota & Kaytlynn and great-granddaughter, Makayla. Aunts, Grace Holland and Arlene Pack, uncle, Buck Holland and many nieces and nephews.

You will always be loved and missed by all, May God Bless.

Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Vera Estes

MONAHANS — Vera "Dimples" Estes, 92, of Crane, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, in Crane.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Monahans Memorial cemetery with Arthur Carpenter officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born in Van Zandt County. She was a member of the Christian Church.

SURVIVORS: Son, Bill Estes of Crane; brother, Dudley O. Dodson of Justin; sisters, Betty Overton of Albuquerque, N.M., and Nancy Russo of Lafayette, Calif.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Ciria Gamboa

ODESSA — Ciria Gamboa, 83, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at her residence.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Barstow. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Estella Barrientos, Dora Lara and Becky Gonzalez, all of Odessa; sons, Fidel Gamboa of Houston, Pablo Gamboa, Wilfredo Gamboa and Juan Gamboa, all of Odessa, and Jimmy Martinez of Las Vegas; brother, Eloy Hinojos of Odessa; sisters, Juanita Bitolas and Elena Mata, both of Odessa, and Gregoria Garza of Pecos; 31 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Lena Randolph

ANDREWS — Lena Bell Randolph, 91, of Andrews, a retired clerk, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at the Andrews Healthcare Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Chapel with the Rev. Dr. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Palestine and moved to Andrews from Ringling, Okla., in 1950. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Walter Randolph of Andrews; daughters, Betty Bell Dickey of Ringling, Mary Merritt of Andrews and Amber Chambers of Abernathy; brother, Owen Bell of Sulphur, Okla.; sister, Muriel Sciacca of Medford, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Johnny Smith

ODESSA — Johnny Smith, 73, of Odessa died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2000, in Odessa.

Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Lester Edlin

CLAUDE — Lester Leroy Edlin, 89, of Odessa, retired manager for Lone Star Co., died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Claude cemetery with Kent Watson officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Shreveport, La., and moved to Odessa from Amarillo in 1951. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVOR: Wife, Billie Edlin of Odessa.

Felix Howell

BRADY — Felix "Gene" Howell, 73, of Brady, a retired oilfield service salesman, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, in Brady.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rest Haven cemetery with David Woodson officiating. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home.

He was born in Albany and moved to Brady from Odessa in 1991. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Pauline Howell of Brady; son, Michael Howell of Brady; daughter, Paula Woodson of Taylors, S.C.; brothers, Joe Howell of Lindsay, Okla., and Donald Howell of Grandfalls; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

Manuel Parada Sr.

FORT STOCKTON — Manuel R. Parada Sr., 77, of Fort Stockton, a retired heavy equipment operator for the Texas Department of Transportation, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, in Odessa.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was born in Sanderson and was a resident of Fort Stockton since 1978. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ramona P. Parada of Fort Stockton; daughters, Carolina Flores of Fort Stockton, Berta Flecher of El Paso and Yolanda Trullinger of San Antonio; stepdaughter, Ramona "Loli" Parada of Fort Stockton; brothers, Trinidad Parada of Fort Worth, Jesus Parada of Stockton, Calif., and Frank Escoreno of Antioch, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ray Porras

ODESSA — Ray Lopez Porras, 29, of Odessa, an oilfield worker, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Lovington, N.M. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Melissa R. Porras of Odessa; sons, Roy Ramirez and Jimmy Ray Porras, both of Odessa; daughter, Gabrielle Alexis Porras of Odessa; mother, Sally Gutierrez of Hobbs, N.M.; father, Manuel Rodriguez of Lovington; stepfather, Tony Gutierrez of Hobbs; stepmother, Kim Rodriguez of Lovington; brothers, Christopher Rodriguez and Blue Manuel Rodriguez, both of Lovington, and Ricky Rodriguez of Odessa; and grandparents, Florencia Garcia and Marcela Lopez, all of Lovington.

Christine Payne

ODESSA — Christine Payne, 95, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darren Willis officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Hubbard.

SURVIVOR: Sister, LaFrance Hickson of Midland.
