ANDREWS — Marge Berard, 78, of Waterville, Maine, a homemaker, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in Andrews.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews with the Rev. Bernard Gully officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Madison, Maine. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Francis Berard of Andrews; daughter, Jean Gonzales of Andrews; sisters, Ann Marie McCarthy, Loraine Dugas and Jennette Arsenault, all of Madison, Maine, Virginia Gallant of Skowhegan, Maine, and Phyllis Briggs of Poland, Maine; and a granddaughter.

Gary Bliss

KERMIT — Gary Lawrence Bliss, 50, of Odessa, an oilfield technician, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Gardendale.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Northside Baptist Church in Kermit with the Rev. Eddie Cotton officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.

He was born in Monahans and was a lifelong resident of Kermit before moving to Odessa. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ina Bliss of Odessa; son, Dennis Bliss of Carlsbad, N.M.; daughter, Kari Bliss of Kermit; mother, Ruby Bliss of Kermit; brother, Jimmy Bliss of Kermit; and sister, Kathy Odom of Lakin, Kan.

Monsies Martinez

FORT DAVIS — Monsies Granado Martinez, 59, of Fort Davis, a leather craftsman and rancher, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, in Fort Davis.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Davis with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Fort Davis.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Moy Martinez Jr. of San Antonio, Phillip Martinez of Odessa and Casey Martinez of Fort Davis; daughters, Sylvia Winn of Greenwood, Debbie Martinez of Midland and Margaret Estrada of Odessa; parents, Nito and Josefina Martinez of Fort Davis; brothers, Frank Martinez and Adan Martinez, both of Marfa, Jimmy Martinez of Valentine, Ernest Martinez and Eddie Martinez, both of Presidio; sisters, Yolanda Martinez and Rosie Hernandez, both of Fort Davis; and seven grandchildren.

Orene O’Donnell

MARATHON — Orene O’Donnell, 82, of Marathon, a retired secretary, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at an El Paso hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Marathon cemetery with the Rev. Charles Wright officiating. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

She was born in Marathon.

SURVIVORS: Son, Billy Ray Green of El Paso; sister, Vada Todd of Marathon; brother, Marshall Roberts of Marathon; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Richard Pachall

NEW BRAUNFELS — Richard A. Pachall, 63, of New Braunfels, a retired employee of Merchants Motorlines, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at McKenna Memorial Hospital in New Braunfels.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels with the Rev. Don Fraker officiating. Burial will be at Comal cemetery. Arrangements by Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home.

He was born in Big Spring and had been a resident of Odessa before moving to New Braunfels in 1989. He was an U.S. Army veteran. He was Lutheran.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Shirley Pachall of New Braunfels; daughter, Gaye Cuevas of San Antonio; stepdaughter, April Ferguson of Big Spring; stepsons, Baron Stovall of Austin and Dean Stovall of San Antonio; mother, Lillie Brown of New Braunfels; sisters, Peggy Clauss of Sacramento, Calif., and Eloise McMurray of Grass Valley, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

James Shelton

ODESSA — James "Jim" Howard Shelton, 73, of Odessa, a self-employed architect, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church with the Revs. Bruce Troy and Mike Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Abilene. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Lynnetta Shelton of Odessa; daughters, Sheryl Davis and Soynja House of Odessa and Sondra Shelton of Carrolton; son, Joel Shelton of Round Rock; and five grandchildren.

Berto Villegas

SANDERSON — Berto Torres Villegas, 81, of Fort Stockton, a retired farmer, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in Fort Stockton.

Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Burial will be at Santa Rita cemetery in Sanderson. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Sanderson and was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Augustina Villegas of Fort Stockton; sons, Little Bear Villegas and Roberto Villegas, both of Odessa; daughters, Gloria Mireles of Fort Stockton, Evelyn Villegas of Las Cruces, N.M., and Judy Villegas of Portland, Ore.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Arcadia Urquidi

PECOS — Arcadia G. Urquidi, 88, of Pecos died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at Pecos Nursing Home.

Arrangements are pending with Pecos Funeral Home.

Shelby Cole

SEMINOLE — Shelby Cole, 79, of Seminole, a retired employee of The Western Company, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Seventh Street Church of Christ with Leo Copeland, Jerald Baldwin and Andrew Purcella officiating. Burial will be at the Gaines County Memorial cemetery North. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

He was born in Ardmore, Okla., and moved to Seminole in 1987 from Seagraves. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Brother, William H. Cole of Seminole; and sisters, Maudie Thornton of Andrews, Naomi Warren of Anchor Point, Alaska, and Redah Marley of Commerce.

Hazel Hensley

ODESSA — Hazel Crowder Hensley, 83, of Odessa, a childcare worker, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Albany and had been a resident of Odessa since 1960.

SURVIVORS: Son, Melvin Hensley of Odessa; daughters, JoAnn Eaves and Connie Isner, both of Odessa; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Raymond Huber

ODESSA — Raymond Franklin Huber Jr., 72, of Odessa, a retired pipefitter, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Coleman and was a lifelong resident of Odessa. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Donna Raye Kinzel and Terry Lee Love, both of Tacoma, Wash., and Mary Catherine Stephens of Odessa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
