Reta Mae Wade
ODESSA — Services for Reta Mae Wade, 74, of Odessa, are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ with Roy Smalling officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wade died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Aug. 13, 1926, in Cherokee. She married
Russell Wade on Oct. 16, 1945, in Abilene.
Mrs. Wade moved to Odessa in 1945 from Abilene. She was a homemaker and a member of Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Woman’s Fire Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Wade on May 19, 1994, and sisters, Vernell Vanzant and Enid Allison.
Survivors include her sons, Darrell Craig Wade and wife Kay of Odessa and Russell Dale Wade and wife B.J. of La Grange; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Lindy Lee Brown
ODESSA — Lindy Lee Brown, 12, of Odessa, went to be with Jesus Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000. Lindy was born May 13, 1988, in Odessa. She was a seventh grade student at Nimitz Junior High School and played the clarinet in the band.
Lindy enjoyed a zest for life as few people did and was the light of her family’s life. She enjoyed swimming, riding bicycles with her many friends, arts and crafts as only she could do, taking care of her golden lab and her goldfish, cooking with her mother, planting flowers with her grandmother, sailing with her father and imitating her big sister. Lindy was special to all that knew and loved her and will be missed by her many friends and family.
She is survived by her parents, John O. and Lori Brown of Odessa; paternal grandparents, Nell and David Waldrop of Odessa and John E. Brown of Odessa; maternal grandparent, Larry Clevenger of Kalamazoo, Mich.; maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Westfall of Odessa; one sister, Robin Lynn Brown of Odessa; aunts and uncles, Jay and Lisa Brown of Hobbs, N.M., Lisa and Jason Hall of Odessa, Rick and Peggy Westfall of Odessa, Mark and Debbie Westfall of Odessa, Jean Clevenger of Midland and Terry Gonzales of Wink; and 15 cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Westfall officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Hall, Joshua Westfall, Mark Clevenger Jr., Tim LeMoine, Bradley Vickers, Aaron Westfall, Ron LeMoine and Justin Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Gonzales and Brian Fisher.

Susann C. "Sue" Edwards
ODESSA — Susann C. "Sue" Edwards, 65, was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Decorah, Iowa, to Orlando Thompson and Bertina Blekeberg. She passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at her residence.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. There will be a family visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Sue was president of the Eagles Lodge Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, crocheting, golf, bingo and yard work.
She was preceded in death by her father, Orlando Thompson; mother, Bertina Blekeberg; son, Timothy Todd Sutton; and brother, Travis O. Thompson.
Survivors include her son, Paul Marc Sutton of Odessa; daughters, Sherri Sue Sutton Goode and husband James of Las Vegas and Kristi Kay Sutton of Odessa; sister, Karen Degenhardt and husband Richard of Tomah, Wis.; three nieces; and a nephew.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Delsie O. Gann
ODESSA — Delsie O. Gann was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Mereta to C.V. and Elsie Smith. She passed away Oct. 9, 2000, at her residence.
Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Assisting will be her longtime friend, Woody Allen. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Delsie graduated from Mertzon High School. She married
Charles F. Gann Sr. July 4, 1948, and they moved to Odessa in 1952. She worked in food service for ECISD for 34 years. She worked at Burnet and Bonham.
Mrs. Gann was a member of the Juliets at the Globe Theater and a member of the Jollies Class at Temple Baptist Church. Each month she and a group of friends would play and dance with the residents of nursing homes in Odessa. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles F. Gann Sr. of Odessa; her sons, Charlie Gann Jr. of Odessa and Joe Gann of Corpus Christi; her daughter, Norma Gann of Caaufman; a brother, Clyde Ray Smith of Odessa; a sister, Norma Jean Sizemore of Odessa; grandchildren, Tony, Nathan, Jami, Joe and Chris Gann; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Craig, Rodney and Jennifer Gann.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
Sandra Kaye Brock Lucas
SULPHUR SPRINGS — Funeral services for Sandra Kaye Brock Lucas, 58, of Aubrey, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Murray-Orowsky Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Martha Myre officiating. Burial was at the Mahoney cemetery with Eric Voss, Randie Voss, Charles Bolf, Mike Crowder, Rudy Corra and Allen Ghormley serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Lucas died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at her residence after a long illness. She was born July 3, 1942, in Laurel, Miss., to Leo and Hazel Bogard Brock.
Mrs. Lucas was a media service coordinator for Keller I.S.D. and a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church in Crossroads.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1989.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Hazel Brock of Kermit; son, Terry and his wife Carol Lucas of Aubrey; son, Jamie and his wife Michelle Lucas, also of Aubrey; son, Jay and his wife Kimber Lucas of Corinth; sister, Celia Bolf of Kermit; grandchildren, Dustin, Daniel, Jake, Kyle and Jessica Lucas.
Memorials in her name made be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson, Ariz., 85726.
Charles R. McClure Sr.
ODESSA — Charles R. McClure "Esquire," Sr., 70, of Odessa, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Grand Prairie. He moved to Odessa from Fort Worth in 1958 and married
Cruz Quiroz Nov. 27, 1958, in Marfa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired industrial mechanic for Mechanical Maintenance.
He loved woodworking, had a good sense of humor and outlook on life. He was a wonderful father, counselor and confidant.
Survivors include his wife, Cruz McClure; sons, Brooks Mark McClure and Charles Ray McClure III, both of Odessa; daughters, Norma Jean McClure, Diana McClure, Donna McClure Gomez, Tammy McClure, all of Odessa, Barbara McClure Lightfoot of Iraan and Christina Ruth McClure of Fort Worth. He is also survived by a brother, Billy Don McClure of El Paso; sister, Patsy Rivitto of Fort Worth; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Pastor Don Palmer officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Alice H. Palmer
ODESSA — Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, Alice H. Palmer died at the age of 85 years, three months, and 20 days.
Mrs. Palmer was born June 17, 1915, in Oklahoma City and within one month was adopted by Peter John and Mary DeLaney Cassidy. Most of her early years were spent in Oklahoma where she finished school at John Carroll Catholic School in Oklahoma City. She was a talented pianist and loved to dance. She married
and had a daughter, Barbara J.H. Johnson.
During World War II, she was in the civil service and worked as a dental technician in the USAF at Will Rogers Field in Oklahoma City. Following the war, she worked for American Airlines where she met her future husband. Alice and Robert Ancel Palmer were married
Nov. 15, 1945, in Oklahoma City. They moved to Harlingen in 1949, where he was the airport manager, and then moved to Odessa in 1965.
Mrs. Palmer always worked and loved to learn and master new skills. She worked for many years as an office manager, a bank teller, executive secretary, insurance clerk and as a "Kelly Girl"; the challenges of new offices and situations interested her.
She and her family members are participating members of The Alzheimer’s DNA Bank at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. The past five years Alice had lived at Avalon Place where every evening for most of those months her husband was there at dinner time and to put her to bed.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Woodruff, celebrant. Pallbearers will be G.L. Johnson III R.A. Palmer III Mark Rogers, Larry Rios, John Alberts and Robert Rogers. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by her husband of 54 years, R.A. Palmer; her only child, Barbara J.H. Johnson; grandchildren, Sudie Rogers and her husband Mark of San Antonio, Jodie Rios and her husband Larry of Krum and G.L. "J" Johnson III and his wife Stephanie of Oak Point; great grandchildren, Robert, James, and John Rogers, Roxanne, Phillip and Carmen Rios and G.L. IV and Lindsey Johnson. She is also survived by stepson, R.A. Palmer Jr. and his wife BeeBee of Dallas; four step grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Fred Miles Segal
ODESSA — Fred Miles Segal, 89, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at a local hospital. Mr. Segal was born Nov. 17, 1910, in Birmingham, Ala. He had been a longtime resident of Odessa and had worked as a machinist for many years. He married
Brenda Corrales Oct. 8, 1994, in Odessa, and they attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Mr. Segal was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Segal, in 1991.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Segal of Odessa; one daughter, Merrilee Trost of Alameda, Calif.; brother-in-law, Johnny and Cora Corrales of Odessa; sister-in-law, Thelma Thomas of Odessa; seven granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and the Odessa Filipino Community.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernie Getigan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and thanks to all of the doctors and nurses that cared for Fred, especially those in the ER, CCU, 8 Central, 9 Central and RT.
