BIG SPRING — John B. Gibson, 59, of Odessa died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Scenic Mountain Hospital in Big Spring.

Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Leon Snelson

MIDLAND — Leon Thurman Snelson, 73, of Midland died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at his residence.

Services are pending with Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.

Charles Bell

ODESSA — Charles Roy Bell, 58, of Odessa, a maintenance laborer, died Friday, March 23, 2001, in Galveston.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Revs. R.S. Sutton and Newton Carey officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Stanford and moved to Odessa in 1985. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Rayshell Onyeowelu of Houston; mother, Ruth Davis of Odessa; stepfather, Elmer Adanandus Sr. of Odessa; brother, Elmer Adanandus Jr. of Lithonia, Ga.; sisters, Shirley Arkadie and Frances Jackson, both of Odessa, Beverly Adanandus of Watauga, Sandra Babineaux of Leesville, La., Angela Taylor and Evelyn Adanandus, both of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren.

Nicolasa Cordova

ODESSA — Nicolasa Dominguez Cordova, 80, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Shafter. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Pete Cordova of Midland, Sam Cordova of Austin and Merced "Sunny" Cordova of Odessa; sisters, Isabell White of Odessa and Nelly Stout of Great Falls, Mont.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Homer Greer

WEATHERFORD — Homer Lee Greer, 68, of Weatherford died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at his residence.

Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Windmill Church of Christ with Paul Warnack officiating. Arrangements by Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel.

He was born in Levelland and was a longtime resident of Weatherford.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Sherry L. Greer and Shelia Shoe, both of Weatherford, and Sharon Menchaca of Odessa; son, Terry Greer of Weatherford; sister, Viola Means of Weatherford; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Julia Maywald

ODESSA — Julia Evelyn Maywald, 89, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Deerings Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Bill Cook officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Lometa. She was Baptist.

SURVIVOR: Sister, Ethel Williams of Alpine.

Hazel Nutt

KERMIT — Hazel Nutt, 87, of Colorado Springs, Colo., a homemaker, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in Colorado Springs.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Wall officiating. Burial will be at the Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.

She was born in Garretts Bluff and had been a longtime resident of Kermit before moving to Colorado Springs. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Marvalynn Riggs of Colorado Springs; two granddaughters; and a great-grandchild.

Winston Riggs

ODESSA — Winston Roxie Riggs, 85, of Odessa, retired owner of a mini-warehouse, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dick Brown officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in El Paso. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Saragosa and had been a resident of Fort Stockton and El Paso. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Daniel Kennedy

ODESSA — Daniel Jacob Kennedy, 2 months old, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Cameron officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Wendie Nichole Kennedy of Odessa; grandparents, Michael and Gay Dawn Kennedy of Odessa and Kimberlie Easter of Wisconsin; and great-grandparents, Kent and Faith Kennedy and Susan Bosse, all of Odessa, Monroe and Elizabeth Oglesby of Goldsmith and Ralph Parnell of New Mexico.

Lionel Salazar

ODESSA — Lionel C. "El Colorado" Salazar, 56, of Odessa, a construction worker, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Elsa and had been a resident of Odessa for 50 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Elida Salazar of Odessa; mother, Espiria Salazar of Odessa; daughters, Belinda Rodriguez, Angie Salazar, Billie Gutierrez and Betty Deleon, all of Odessa, Diana Lujan, Sandra Baeza, Isabell Acosta and Sopia Alvarez, all of Marfa; sons, Lionel Salazar Jr. and Roy Salazar, both of Albuquerque, N.M., Robert Salazar and Michael Salazar, both of Marfa, Dwight Deleon of Midland and Joe Deleon of Odessa; brothers, John Salazar, Joe Salazar Jr. and David Salazar, all of Odessa; sisters, Irma Salazar, Linda Araiza, Doreen Natividad, Sally Tenorio and Irene Lucero, all of Odessa, and Hilda Tagle of Alice; 48 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Wilma Stovall

ODESSA — Wilma Lee Stovall, 75, of Odessa, a retired employee of Ector County Independent School District, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at her residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Eastland County and moved to Odessa from Cisco in 1951. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, James Stovall of Odessa; daughters, Barbara Martin of Odessa and Jimmy Sue Patterson of Southland; sons, Andy Coats of Lubbock, Randy Coats of Odessa and Ricky Stovall of Shreveport, La.; brother, Bill Speegle of Fort Stockton; sisters, Annie Mae Donaway of Putnam and Barbara Duraway of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Joe Tullos

ODESSA — Joe Tullos, 42, of Odessa died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at his residence.

Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Willie Greenwood

ODESSA — Willie Harold Greenwood, 54, of Odessa, a truck driver, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. today at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Antlers, Okla.

SURVIVOR: Cousin, Ron Robinson of Odessa.

Bill Howell

CISCO — Bill Qualls Howell, 86, of Cisco, a retired clerk at JC Penney’s Department Store in Cisco, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Eastland Memorial Hospital in Cisco.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Hagan officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery. Arrangements by Kimbrough Funeral Home.

She was born in Cisco. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Stepsons, Freddie Howell of Mississippi and Diz Howell of Cisco; and sisters, Gladys Carlile and Omalee Holdridge, both of Cisco, and Opal Spoon of Odessa.
