ODESSA - Tomas C. Ruiz Jr., 65, of Odessa, owner of Tom’s Remodeling Co., died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at his residence.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Fort Stockton and moved to Odessa from Fort Stockton in 1956. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Bertha Ruiz of Odessa; son, Joe A. Ruiz of Odessa; daughter, Sandra A. Pineda of Odessa; brothers, Richard Ruiz and Pablo Ruiz, both of Odessa, Gene Ruiz of El Paso, Ernesto Ruiz, Jay Ruiz and Noe Ruiz, all of Fort Stockton, and Salvador Ruiz of Monahans; sisters, Felisita Subia of Odessa, Dominga Molinar of Florida and Candida Kelly of Alaska; and 2 grandchildren.

Edgar Shrum

SEAGRAVES - Edgar Dale Shrum, 34, of Seminole died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at First Assembly of God Church with L.D. Hinson officiating. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

He was born in Seminole. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

SURVIVORS: Parents, David and JoAnn Shrum of Seminole; and brothers, M. Frank Shrum of Seminole, David F. Shrum of Mount Pleasant and James D. Shrum of Shallowater.

Selma Swindle

ODESSA - Selma Swindle, 78, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at her residence.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Buena Vista, Ga. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, John Swindle of Odessa; son, John E. Swindle of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Bobbie Mahaley of Richland, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

ODESSA - Vell Huntley, 68, of Odessa died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Hospice House.

Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

SAN ANTONIO - Clifton Harbson Partney, 87, of McCamey died Monday, April 2, 2001, at an assisted living home in San Antonio.

ODESSA - Cathy Ward, 58, of Odessa died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Maria Montez

STANTON - Maria Losoya Montez, 85, of Stanton, a homemaker, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Westwood Medical Center in Midland.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Revs. Arturo Pestin and Ernie Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.

She was born in Santa Rosalia de Camargo, Mexico.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Johnny Montez Jr. and Jose Montez, both of Stanton; daughters, Manuela Villa of Stanton and Eva Orozco of Jal, N.M.; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-great-grandchildren.

Edwardo Natividad

MONAHANS - Edwardo Natividad, 57, of Odessa, a worker in highway maintenance, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Ward Memorial Hospital in Monahans.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Ben Flores officiating. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Harkey Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Pyote cemetery in Pyote. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Pecos. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Son, Eddie Natividad of Maple Heights, Ohio; brothers, Bonifacio Natividad of Pecos and Augustine Natividad of Odessa; and sisters, Margie Carrasco and Jesusita "Jessie" Cobos, both of Monahans.

Sofia Ortiz

ALPINE - Sofia C. Ortiz, 90, of Alpine, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at an El Paso hospital.

Mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial was at Holy Angels cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

She was born in Alpine.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sofia Chavez of El Paso; brother, Anastacio Cobos of Alpine; and a grandson.

Daniel Teague

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Daniel Wayne Teague, 44, of Chattanooga, Tenn., a student, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at a local hospital.

Services will be at 5 p.m. CST today at Chattanooga Primitive Baptist Church with the Revs. Eddy Flick and Rex Forsyth officiating. Arrangements by Covenant Funeral Service.

He was born in Plainview. He was a Navy veteran.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Judy Henderson Teague of Chattanooga; stepson, Jason Bearden of Chattanooga; mother, Marilyn Forsyth Teague of Odessa; brothers, Sam D. Teague Jr. of San Antonio and Gavin S. ODESSA - J.C. Anderson, 76, of Odessa died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Avis Anderson

MONAHANS - Avis Lucille Anderson, 75, of Monahans, a retired X-ray lab technician, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at her residence.

No services are scheduled.

She was born in Lometa and had been a resident of Monahans for three months. She was Baptist.

ANDREWS - Freddie B. Carruth, 65, of Andrews, a retired gang pusher for Jay Leo Thompson, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in Hughes Springs.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Short officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Patricia and had been a resident of Andrews for 53 years. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Georgia Carruth of Andrews; sons, Mike Carruth of Maybank, David Carruth and Jimmy Carruth, both of Andrews; brother, Ira Lee Carruth of Mayesville, Okla.; sister, Lillie Mae Parker of Burleson; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
