Freeda Barnett Moore

ODESSA - Freeda Barnett Moore, 88, died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Lynn Money officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1908, in Westminster and had lived in Odessa since 1945. She was a Church of Christ member.

SURVIVORS: Son, James M. Barnett of Odessa; daughter, Peggy Hemphill of Odessa; brother, Audlie Brashears of Dallas; sister, Stella Barnett of Princeton; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Arley J. White

ANDREWS - Arley J. White, 88, of Eunice, N.M., died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hubert Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born April 25, 1909, in Altus, Okla., and had lived in Eunice since 1982. He was a Church of Christ member.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Barbara Trull of Eunice and Tommie Joan Hanson of Kingsland; brother, Homer Eugene White of Long Beach, Calif.; sisters, Eva Mae Curley of San Antonio and Evelyne McClean of Pineville, Mo.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Grace L. Cooper

LUBBOCK - Grace L. Cooper, 71, a retired Baptist Bookstore sales person, died Monday, June 23, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mackinze Terrace Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Hancock officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Resthaven Funeral Home.

She was born in Wheeler County and was a resident of Lubbock. She was a member of Mackinze Terrace Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: Husband, James David Cooper of Arlington, Kenneth Dwayne Franklin Cooper of Franklin, Tenn.; brothers, Roland Washburn, John Washburn, Walter Washburn and Cecil Washburn, all of Odessa; sisters, Wanda Bauford of Lubbock and Merle Quisinberry of Burnett; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Raymond Lopez Jr.

ODESSA - Raymond 'Vonny' Trejo Lopez Jr., 48, a welder, died Monday, June 13, in Midland.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Deacon Barney Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Prissy Lopez of Odessa; brothers, Dario Orona Jr. and Oscar Trejo, both of Houston; sister, Belen Castillo of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Faustino Muniz

KERMIT - Faustino Muniz, 93, a laborer, died Sunday, June 21, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. John Telles officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.

He was born in Coyame, Mexico, and had lived in Kermit for 17 years.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria C. Muniz of Kermit; sons, Oscar Muniz and Faustino Jr. Muniz, both of El Paso, Trinidad Muniz of Presidio, Eugenio A. Muniz, Esteban Muniz and Francisco Muniz, all of Kermit, and Ellautelio Corralez of Mountain View Calif.; daughters, Teresa Lopez of Mountain View, Genoveva Figueroa of Kermit and Petra Perez of Cisco; brother, Pedro J. Muniz of Hobbs, N.M.; 41 grandchildren; 114 great-grandchildren; and 25 great- great-grandchildren.

Pete Saras

PECOS - Pete Saras, 94, a retired restaurant owner and operator, died Saturday, June 21, 1997, at Northeast Baptist Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Fairview cemetery with the Rev. J.E. McCormick officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

He was born in Greece and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Jerry Saras of Longview; daughters, Gayle Oates of Nacogdoches and Jane Weatherford of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Tessa Ballow

GREENWOOD - Tessa Renee Ballow, infant daughter of Chad and Shayne Ballow of Greenwood, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

SURVIVORS: Parents; brothers, Christopher Logan Ballow and Tanner John Ballow, both of Greenwood; grandparents, Debbie Reese of Greenwood, Sandra Scott of Odessa, John Robert Reese of El Paso and Jimmy Ballow of Keithville, La.; and great-grandparents, John R. Williams and Jackie Williams, both of Greenwood and Lanelle Bandcroft of Houston.

Florentino Garcia Sr.

FORT STOCKTON - Florentino G. Garcia Sr., 73, a retired aircraft mechanic, died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, in Fort Stockton.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Fort Stockton Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Vasquez officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was a lifetime resident of Fort Stockton. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ofelia Garcia of Fort Stockton; sons, Hector Garcia, Florentino Garcia Jr., Aldric Garcia and Aldred Garcia, all of Fort Stockton; brothers, George Garcia Jr. of Sinton and Ralph Garcia of Midland; sisters, Emma Rodriguez of Fort Stockton and Simona Nunez of Odessa; and four grandchildren.

Myrle Moorhead

KERMIT - Myrle B. Moorhead, 61, an Allsup's Convenience Store manager, died Monday, June 23, 1997, in Kermit.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Kermit. Burial will be at the Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.

SURVIVORS: Son, Bobby Lee Vanckhoven Jr. of Kermit; daughter, Betty Loraine Vanckhoven of Homestead, Fla.; father, Willie Lowe of Tyler; brothers, Donald Lowe of Tyler and Joe Lowe of Beach; sisters, Patricia Janak of Huntsville, Dolly Row Bottom of Salisbury, Md., Brenda J. Lowe of Tyler and Lucy Newberry of Cuney; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

ODESSA - Denise Louise Mapp, 26, of Odessa died Sunday, June 22, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

ODESSA - J. Merenstein, 67, of Odessa died Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Parks Good Samaritan Village.

ODESSA - Federico 'Freddy' V. Garcia, 53, a laborer, died Sunday, June 22, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

He was born in Marfa and was a resident of Odessa. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Freddy Garcia Jr. of Houston and Rafael Garcia of Herzognivia; daughters, Rosemary Nunez of Odessa, Carmen Garcia of Fort Stockton and Laura McBride of Houston; father, Juan Garcia of Odessa; mother, Carmen Garcia of Odessa; brother, Alonzo Garcia of Odessa; sister, Nina Garcia Reynolds of Odessa; and 13 grandchildren.

Raymond Lopez Jr.
