MIDLAND - Tom Linebery, 90, of Midland, a longtime rancher, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Burial will be at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

He was born in Brown County. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Evelyn Linebery of Midland.

Isabel Morales

McCAMEY - Isabel Hernandez Morales, 71, of McCamey, a homemaker, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Iglesia Bautista El Buen Pastor with the Rev. Jose Luis Sanchez officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery in McCamey. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

She was born in Big Spring. She was Baptist.

SURIVORS: Sons, Arturo Morales and Jesse Morales, both of McCamey, and Jorge Morales of Houston; daughters, Bertha Rangel of Crane, Enriqueta Huerta of Odessa, Aurora Urias and Sara Ortega, both of McCamey, Vicky Solis and Yara Licon, both of Wink; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Bill Olazaba

ALPINE - Bill V. Olazaba, 71, of Alpine, a custodian with the Alpine Independent School District, died March 30, 2001, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Fort Stockton.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Burial will be at Holy Angels cemetery in Alpine. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

He was born in Alpine. He was an Army veteran. He was Catholic.

SURIVORS: Sons, Jerry Olazaba of Midland, Robert Olazaba, Charlie Olazaba and Steve Olazaba, all of Alpine; and six grandchildren.

Garland Roe

MIDLAND - Garland Guy Roe, 69, of Midland, owner of House of Carpets, died March 30, 2001, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Arrangements by Pipkin Funeral Home.

He was born in Comanche County. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Lyddia Arenna Roe of Midland; sons, Gary Dean Roe, Jerry Lee Roe and David Roe, all of Midland, and Rick Milliken of Clackamas, Ore.; daughter, Helen Roe Porter of Midland; sisters, Lometa Spain of Olney, Colleen Cole of Lorena, and Estalee Lansdale of Mesquite; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Betty Shacklett

ODESSA - Betty Jane Shacklett, 77, of Odessa died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Hospice House.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eisenhower Church of Christ with Burt Groves and Lynn Money officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Scottsbluff, Neb. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Betty Jo Gerig of Odessa and Nancy Moore of Arlington; one brother, Bill Slates of Buffalo, Wyo; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Sara Wade

ODESSA - Sara Beth Wade, 46, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, March 30, 2001 at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Odessa. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Henry Wade of Odessa; son, Travis Wade of Odessa; daughters, Sarena Weatherly and Rachel Wade, both of Odessa; parents, Waylon and Ruth Flanery of Whitney; sister, Rena Elmore of Whitney; grandmother, Bea Flanery of Hillsboro; and one grandchild.

Manuel Ybarra Sr.

ODESSA - Manuel Estrada Ybarra Sr., 57, of Odessa, a journeyman pipe fitter, died March 30, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Rosehill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.

He was born in Marfa. He was Catholic.

SURIVORS: Sons, Manuel Ybarra Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Angie Y. Sauceda, Maria Y. Gallegos and Melissa Ybarra, all of Odessa, and Stephanie Y. Gonzales of San Angelo; parents, Antonio Ybarra Sr. and Angelita E. Ybarra, both of Odessa; brothers, Tony Ybarra Jr., Hector Ybarra, both of Odessa, and Sammy Ybarra of Midland; sisters, Hortencia Gomez and Mary Pando, both of Odessa; and 16 grandchildren.

Margaret Zant

ODESSA - Margaret Virginia Trammell Zant, 96, of Odessa died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Heggemeier officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Aspermont. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Joe C. Zant Jr. of Odessa; daughter, Celia Bowden of Bronte; sister, Carrie Jean Kelly of Odessa; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Barbara Colborn

ODESSA - Barbara Colborn, 68, of Odessa passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at her daughter’s home in Alvin.

She was born Sept. 9, 1932, in Brownwood. She married Alfred Eugene Colborn on April 8, 1951, in Houston. He preceded her in death in August 1996. She attended College of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M., and Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, N.M. She was a retired school teacher in Eunice, N.M. She was a member and head of multiple ministries at Odessa Christian Faith Center.

The Lord filled Barbara’s life, enabling her to bless others in all areas of their lives. Her favorite ministry was cooking and canning. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Laura Anderson; husband, Gene Colborn; and brother, Richard Anderson.

Survivors are her son, Rance Colborn and wife Kim of Eunice; daughters, Deaion Fisher and husband Rex of Alvin and Caren Colborn of Midland; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Odessa Christian Faith Center, 8860 Andrews Hwy., with the Rev. Don Caywood officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Odessa Christian Faith Center Youth Building Project.

Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Ruth Kelley Lynn

WEST HELENA, Ark. - Ruth Lynn, age 88, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Helena, Ark. She was born July 23, 1912, in Rosebud, Ark., to the late Robert and Eliza Kelley.

Mrs. Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Franklin Lynn Sr. and a son, Allen Thomas "Bunkie" Lynn.

She is survived by two sons, Harry F. Lynn Jr. of Beebe, Ark., and Robert Lynn and wife Donna of Richmond, Va.; three daughters, Velma Lynn Lucy and husband Ben of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Sue Lynn Sellers and husband L.P. of Helena and Edna Maxine Lynn Pedicord of Kermit; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Mrs. Bonnie Coco.

She was a homemaker, seamstress and a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Odessa.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena by Pastor Steve Burton. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena.
