Leander Bond

ODESSA - Leander Bond, 83, of Odessa, a retired employee of the Ector County Independent School District, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Odessa cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Cuthand and moved to Odessa from Hooks in 1957. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ruby Bond of Odessa; daughters, Sue Edwards of Odessa and Jackie Kidwell of New London, Wis.; brother, Joe Bond of Broken Bow, Okla.; sister, Blanche English of Hart; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Maria Cortez

PRESIDIO - Maria Trinidad Cortez, 75, of Clovis, N.M., a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, in Clovis.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 8:30 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be at Desert Hills cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

She was born in Presidio and had been a longtime resident.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Inez Cortez of Clovis; sons, Valentin Cortez of Clovis, Eleuterio Cortez and Fernando Cortez, both of Roswell, N.M.; daughters, Sofia Grado of Presidio, Socorro Juardo of Albuquerque, N.M., Guadalupe Arredondo of Chihuahua, Mexico, Elia Torres of McAllen and Maria Luisa Arredondo of California; sisters, Elvira Hinojos of Las Vegas and Guadalupe Valenzuela of Ojinaga, Mexico; 33 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Mary Dunn

ODESSA - Mary Lucille Dunn, 88, of Brownwood, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Lake Brownwood.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

She was born in Celeste and had been a longtime resident of Ector County. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, John Aaron Dunn of Lake Brownwood; daughter, Mary Frances Dunn of Wylie; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jack Jamison

ANDREWS - Jack Jamison, 63, of Andrews, owner and operator of C.J. Construction Company, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Andrews West cemetery with the Rev. Walter Thompson officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Stanton and moved to Andrews from Stanton in 1959.

SURVIVORS: Son, Tim Jamison of Odessa; daughter, Teresa Brown of Junction City, Ore.; brother, Dale Holton of Midland; and eight grandchildren.

Leona Logan

ODESSA - Leona Grace Logan, 90, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with Don Potter officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Bismarck, N.D. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Faye Black of Spencer, Iowa, Shirley Hedger of Sparta, Mo., Audree Larrocha and Cleone Tucker, both of Odessa, and Thea Runnebaum of Lyndale; and 18 grandchildren.

Waylon Martin

CASTELL - Waylon Deaver Martin, 18, of Kingsland, a construction worker, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at San Antonio University Hospital in San Antonio.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at St. John Lutheran Church cemetery with the Rev. Gil Ash officiating. Arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home.

He was born in Wink and moved to Kingsland from Lamesa two years ago. He was Pentecostal.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Willetta Dunn of Kingsland; father, Willie Martin of Odessa; stepfather, Steven Dunn of Kingsland; sister, Wendy Martin of Kingsland; brothers, William Martin Jr. of Odessa and Nicholas Martin of Kingsland; and grandparents, Billie Christmas and Roy Christmas, both of Kingsland, and Shirley Martin and Darrell Martin, both of Odessa.

Mary Pargas

ODESSA - Mary Wright Pargas, 67, of Odessa, a nurse’s aide, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Larry Tate officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Alpine and moved to Odessa from Pecos in 1974. She was a Jehovah’s Witness.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Senaido B. Pargas of Odessa; sons, Hector Rey of Alpine, Frank Lambrano, Glenn Lambrano and Higinio Garcia, all of Odessa; daughters, Norma Enriguez of Pecos and Hilda Rodriguez of Odessa; brothers, David Wright, Mike Sam Wright and Nick Wright, all of Alpine, Isreal Wright of Austin and Abel Wright of Odessa; sister, Neomi N. Wright of Alpine; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Larry Rudolph

BURLESON - Larry Max Rudolph, 57, of Burleson, parts manager for Cummins Southern Plains Inc. in Fort Worth, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Ken A. Taliaferro officiating. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Arrangements by Laurel Land Funeral Home.

He was born in Stillwater, Okla., and had been a resident of Odessa. He was a Marines veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Christian Church.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Jane Rudolph of Burleson; son, Lyle Rudolph of Houston; daughters, Lynn Quarzenski and Patricia White, both of Burleson; sisters, Donna Hicks of Odessa and Karen Moody of Burleson; and five grandchildren.

Clair Kelly

MARFA - Clair McCracken Kelly, 92, of Marfa, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, in Refugio.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Connor officiating. Burial will be at Marfa cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

She was born in Marfa and had been a lifelong resident. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Pat Dawson of Refugio; son, Mike Kelly of Topeka, Kans.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Francisca Venegas

MCCAMEY - Francisca Urias Venegas, 94, of McCamey, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at McCamey Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Barry McLean officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico, and had been a resident of McCamey for 19 years. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Francisco Venegas of Midland, Cristobal Venegas of McCamey, Andres Venegas of Rankin and Humberto Venegas of Mexico; daughter, Abigail Galindo of Mexico; 24 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

Mattie Walker

FORT STOCKTON - Mattie Sue Walker, 90, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, in Odessa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church with the Rev. Henry Freund officiating. Burial will be at Easthill cemetery. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in San Angelo and had been a lifelong resident of Fort Stockton.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Charlotte Furman of Odessa; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Kaywin Berkley

BAIRD - Kaywin N. Berkley, 46, of Baird died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, in Baird.

Arrangements are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Charles Jones

ODESSA - Charles Paul Jones, 86, of Odessa died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at his residence.

Arrangements are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Margaret Allen

FORT STOCKTON - Margaret Ida Allen, 89, of Midland, a retired U.S. Postal Service employee, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Trinity Towers Retirement Center.

Graveside services will be at Easthill cemetery with the Rev. Gary Zeitler officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

She was born in Johnson Creek, Wis. She lived in Midland for 24 years.

SURVIVORS: Nephews, Bill Zeitler and Frank Zeitler, both of Midland.
