ODESSA — Henry Pleasant Jr., 70, of Odessa, a retired self-employed landscaper, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home with the Rev. Darren Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Ector County cemetery.
He was born in Temple.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Vernie Bailey Pleasant of Odessa; stepson, Alvin Bailey of Arlington; stepdaughters, Lisa Williams-Johnson of Garland, Ronnie McBrown of Lubbock, Tommie London of Dallas and Gail Abron of Fort Worth; brother, Eddie Lewis Pleasant of Fort Worth; sisters, Beatrice Kelly Roberson of Odessa, Inez McBride of Portland, Ore., Velma Jones, Geraldine Hassan, Dottie Binyard and Lillie Mae Collie, all of Fort Worth, and Laura Grant of Temple.

Dean Whitley
FORT STOCKTON — Dean Whitley, 75, of Fort Stockton, an oilfield superintendent, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Miles officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Ballinger and had lived in Pecos County since 1963. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Carol Bynum of San Antonio and Cathy Broyles of Lamesa; son, Carl Whitley of Austin; mother, Emma Whitley of Gainesville; sister, Dorothy Kyle of Gainesville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Louise York
ODESSA — Louise H. York, 87, of Odessa died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Avalon Place.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors chapel with the Rev. Dave Dinneen officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. MDT at Carlsbad cemetery in Carlsbad, N.M. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Carlsbad, N.M., and lived in Midland and Waco before moving to Odessa in 1991. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Niece, Carole Sydow of Kingwood; nephews, Edward Anderson of China Springs, Thomas York of Alto, N.M., and Dick Hubert of Odessa.

Marie Crabtree
ANDREWS — Marie Crabtree, 82, of Andrews died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, in Andrews.
Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home.

Anita Musgrove Clover
ODESSA — Mrs. Anita Musgrove Clover, 91, of Denton, formerly of Odessa, died Monday, July 30, 2001, in Denton.
She was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Big Spring. She married the late Carlos L. Clover on Jan. 26, 1929.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Odessa, Thursday Study Club, Federated Woman’s Club since 1941, serving in all offices, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, DAR, founding member of the Perky Peers at church and Circle Chair Member of the church’s Fidelis Class.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at First United Methodist Church of Odessa with the Rev. Bill Heggemeier officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Odessa or Clover House in Odessa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Louis Clover.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Pat Gobble of Denton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton is in charge of arrangements.

Lourine Messenger
SANFORD, Fla. — Lourine Messenger, 92, mother of the late Walter Beal, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in Sanford, Fla.
Lourine had visited Odessa for many years and made many friends here.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Beal of Odessa; grandsons, Sam of Mountain View, Calif., David of Odessa and Steven of El Paso; great-grandson, Garnet of El Paso; sisters, Theo Vickery of Key West, Fla., and Flossie Lee of Lattimore, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at First Presbyterian Church of Sanford with the Rev. Bruce Scott officiating.

Amparo Acedo
ODESSA — Amparo Acedo, 77, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilberto Rodriguez officiating. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jose Luis Enriquez of Odessa; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Helen Findley
FAIRFIELD — Helen Grace Findley, 74, of Odessa, a retired employee of JC Penney Department Store, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Zion cemetery. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Fairfield and moved to Odessa in 1952. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Brenda Jean Findley Patterson of Odessa; son, Charles Lynn Findley of Lubbock; brother, G.J. Anderson of Minden, La.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Clare Meisinger
ODESSA — Clare Avery Meisinger, 89, of Odessa, a retired business executive in the energy industry, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Inurnment will be at Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif., at a later date. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Perry, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1988 from San Diego.
SURVIVORS: Son, Phil Meisinger of Las Vegas; brother, Don Johnson of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Jeanne Pemberton
ODESSA — Jeanne Miles Pemberton, 74, of Lubbock, a retired beautician, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Covenant Medical Center Lakeside in Lubbock.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Lockney and moved to Lubbock in 1974 from Lovington, N.M. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Don L. Pemberton of Lubbock; daughter, Barbe Barker of Cloudcroft, N.M.; stepsons, Donald Gale Pemberton of Euless and Jerome Pemberton of Amarillo; brothers, Tom Johnson of Odessa and Ben Johnson of Eastland; and four grandchildren.

ODESSA — Alfredo Roy Rivera, 48, of Odessa, a utility worker, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Odessa.
Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Clinton DeBorde officiating. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Phoenix. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Armandina Rivera of Odessa; and stepsons, Samuel Sandoval, Odell Sandoval and Gabriel Sandoval, all of Midland.

MIDLAND — Grady R. Smith, 60, of Big Spring died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at a Midland hospital.

ODESSA — Jessie B. Watkins Sr., 72, of Odessa died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at his residence.
