ALPINE — Michael “Mick” Bruce Dart, 22, of Alpine, an employee of Twin Peaks Liquor Store in Alpine, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross-Anglican Church with the Rev. Gene Myrick officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.
He was born in Alpine and was a lifelong resident.
SURVIVORS: Parents, Mickey and Catherine Dart of Alpine; sister, Christy Nienstedt of Navasota; and grandmother, Dorothy Fossen of Glenrock, Wyo.

Jesus Hererra
OJINAGA, Mexico — Jesus Galindo Hererra, 78, of Odessa, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Iglesia Jesus de Camino. Burial will be at Panteon del Mulato cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
He was born in El Mulato, Mexico. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ernestina Hererra of Odessa; sons, Manuel Alfredo Hererra and Antonio Hererra, both of Odessa; daughters, Martha Nunez, Rita Olivas, Chayo Mendias, Lorena Garcia and Yudith Hererra, all of Odessa, Elsa Hererra of Ojinaga, Mexico, and Veronica Infante of Andrews; brother, Jose Hererra of Presidio; sisters, Maria Hererra of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Juana Hererra of Odessa; 30 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ruth Todd
ODESSA — Ruth Loveless Todd, 90, of Odessa, a retired worker in land development, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Lynn Money officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Hillsborough and was a resident of Odessa since 1975.
SURVIVORS: Son, Tom Todd of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Manuela Gonzalez
FORT STOCKTON — Manuela Gonzalez, 76, of Iraan died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, in Fort Stockton.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Leroy Boyd
Harlan Leroy Boyd, age 70, of Odessa, passed away at his home on July 3, 2001. His father, Luther Boyd and a brother, Ronnie Boyd preceded him in death.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tom Hiser of Sherwood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Leroy was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Biggers, Ark. To Luther and Laura Meredith-Boyd. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S. Toledo during the Korean Conflict. He married Martha Davidson on Nov. 17, 1950, in Odessa. They moved to Odessa in 1952 from Stockton, Calif. after he was discharged from the Navy.
Leroy worked as an electrician for Texas Electric, El Paso Natural Gas, Elcor of Midland and Slough Equipment. He enjoyed hunting, but his favorite hobby was his family.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Boyd of Odessa; sons, Dennis Boyd of Odessa, Larry and wife Gayle Boyd of Victoria; daughters, Karen Boyd and husband David Alexander of Austin, Kay Duree of Odessa, and Amy Boyd of Round Rock; mother, Laura Boyd of Stockton, Calif.; brother, Glenn Boyd of Palm Dessert, Calif.; sisters, Jean Gilmore of Boerne, Joyce Lee of Stockton, Calif., and Rita Aguilar of Duncanville; eight grandchildren — Morgan Boyd, Jarrod Boyd, Marci Boyd, Aaron Gore, Rachel Duree, Danielle Duree, Evan Alexander and Drew Alexander; and three great-grandchildren.

Jose Chavez
ODESSA — Jose Luis Chavez, 51, of Odessa, a truck driver for an oil company, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Monahans. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Bibiana Chavez of Odessa; daughter, Rachael S. Mendez of Odessa; sons, Joe S. Chavez Jr. and Gilbert S. Chavez, both of Odessa; parents, Dolores Chavez and Petra Chavez, both of Pecos; brothers, Richard Chavez of Lubbock and Hector Chavez of Pecos; sisters, Mary Lou Aldarte of Lubbock, Rosy Galindo and Margie Muro, both of Pecos; and four grandchildren.

Vie Fomby
HAMLIN — Vie Mae Bailey Fomby, 76, of Hamlin, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tracy Watson officiating. Burial will be at Hamlin Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Foster-Adams Funeral Home.
She was born in Hamlin and had been a resident of Odessa. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, William W. “Bill” Fomby of Hamlin; daughter, Carla Fomby of Abilene; son, James Fomby of Frisco; sister, Callie Jo Torbett of San Diego; brother, Ray Bailey of Odessa; and four grandchildren.

Frankie Hall
ODESSA — Frankie Faye “Suzie” Hall, 65, of Odessa, a hairdresser, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Alkire officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Hodge, La., and moved to Odessa in 1965 from Monahans. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Donald Baker and Darren Baker, both of Odessa; daughter, Debbie Horrell of Odessa; sister, Betty Sue Sellars of Coleman; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Louis Hambleton
CISCO — Louis Edward Hambleton, 71, of Cisco, a retired self-employed contractor, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at a later date in Devol, Okla. Arrangements by Higginbotham Funeral Home.
He was born in Chickasha, Okla., and had been a resident of Andrews.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Winnie Lamarr Hambleton of Cisco; sons, Allen Hambleton of Henryetta, Okla., and Steve Hambleton of Hopewell, Va.; daughters, Becky Taylor of Odessa and Vanessa Helbert of Andrews; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Bobby Perry
EARLY — Bobby Perry, 68, of Brownwood, a retired maintenance specialist for Rexene, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Hancock officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Quemado cemetery in Maverick County. Arrangements by Heartland Funeral Home.
He was born in Ballinger and had been a resident of Odessa. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Benny Perry of Addis, La.; daughters, Kim Breaux of White Castle, La., and Shari Perry of Odessa; brothers, Elvis Perry of Oklahoma, Paul Perry of Amarillo and Tommy Perry of Dallas; sister, Karen Stepan of Dallas; and five grandchildren.

Morris Williams
ODESSA — Morris Loss Williams, 90, of Odessa, a retired ranch foreman, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emmett Barnard officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Myra.
SURVIVORS: Brothers, L.A. Williams and E.A. Williams, both of Amarillo; sisters, Jackie Smith of Plainview and Marie Hewitt of Houston; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Vernon Boysen
ALPINE — Vernon Boysen, 75, of Alpine, a retired postmaster, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at a Lubbock hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Elm Grove cemetery with the Rev. Ray Bullock officiating. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.
He was born in Cheapside. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Deborah K. Cooley of McKinney, Tana Justice of Alpine and Kimberlee A. Griswold of Dallas; brother, Elroy Boysen of Houston; and three grandchildren.

Almon Burris
ODESSA — Almon Eugene Burris, 90, of Winnsboro, La., a retired oilfield worker, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, in Winnsboro.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Riser First National Funeral Home.
He was born in Wesson, Ark.
SURVIVORS: Three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
