Fred Mann

ODESSA - Fred Mann, 94, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rex Clayton officiating. Burial will be at the Monahans cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born on Little Frog Creek near Winslow, Ark., was a resident of Odessa, and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Edgar B. Mann of Farmington, N.M.; daughter, Winifred Suckling of Odessa; brother, Raymond Mann of Lovington, N.M.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Hector Mendoza

PECOS - Hector Mendoza, 33, a self-employed laborer, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, in Lubbock.

Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home of Pecos.

He was a resident of Lubbock. He was a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Father, Genaro H. Mendoza of Pecos; mother, Tomasa Mendoza of Pecos; brothers, Ventura Mendoza and Genaro Mendoza Jr., both of Pecos; and sisters, Martha Martinez and Melba Carrasco, both of Odessa, and Lupe Marchan of Pecos.

Louise Standefer

STANTON - Louise Harper Standefer, 94, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Country Meadows Elder Care in Stanton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements by Gilbreath Funeral Home.

She moved to Stanton in 1951. She was a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Clement Ray Standefer of Stanton; daughters, Evelyn Maxine Minter and Lois Vernell Hill, both of Amarillo, and Jannie Ladell Linney of Stanton; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Manuel Wise

BIG SPRING - Manuel Odis Wise, 85, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral chapel in Big Spring with the Revs. Randy Cotton and Alton Towery officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive cemetery. Arrangements by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

He was a resident of Odessa, a World War II veteran and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mildred Wise of Odessa; sons, Marvin Wise of Big Spring, Wiley Wise of Abilene and Dan Wise of Midland; daughters, Lavern Wise of Big Spring and Syble Wise of Albuquerque, N.M.; stepsons, Kenneth Smith of Colorado City and Keith Smith and Ronnie Smith, both of San Angelo; stepdaughter, Lynn Hill of Colorado City; sister, Jessie Oliver of Odessa; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Leticia Rodriguez

PECOS - Leticia Rodriguez, 41, of El Paso, an employee of the Texas Department of Human Resources, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Pecos and was a resident of El Paso for 15 years. She was a member of Abundant Life Faith Center.

SURVIVORS: Parents, Ramon and Sofia Ortiz of Pecos; brothers, Gilbert Rodriguez and Ramon Ortiz Jr., both of Pecos; and sisters, Ruby Apodaca and Maria C. Ortiz, both of Pecos.

Jerry Miller

ODESSA - Jerry Miller, 48, of Odessa died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Funeral services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Ragon Gilbert Sr.

BIG SPRING - Ragon Vernon Gilbert Sr., 79, a retired mechanic, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at a Midland retirement home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mount Olive cemetery in Big Spring. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home in Midland.

He was born in Blanco County, Okla., and was a resident of Midland.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Ragon Vernon Gilbert Jr., David Nelson Gilbert and Clifford Douglas Gilbert, all of Odessa; daughters, Lela Mae Spencer of Lubbock, Jackie Gilbert Scott of Atlanta, Texas, Patsy Hively of Chanohon, Ill., and Ethel Fay Tucker of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Zachary Henson

SEAGRAVES - Zachary Guy Henson, 7, of Seagraves, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Perkins officiating. Burial will be at Seagraves cemetery. Arrangements by Head Family Funeral Home.

He was born in Lubbock and was a lifelong resident of Seagraves.

SURVIVORS: Parents, Guy Henson Jr. and Shannon Henson of Seagraves; brother, Zeth Henson of Seagraves; grandparents, Guy and Jeannie Bob Henson and Wayland and Margaret McCullough, all of Seminole; and great-grandparents, Buster and Grace McCullough of Seminole and Joe and Ester Ruth Henson of Brownfield.

Neoma Hurst

COMANCHE, OKLA. - Neoma Beatrice Hurst, 74, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Fairlawn cemetery in Comanche, Okla. Arrangements by Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home.

She was born in Ardmore, Okla., and was a resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Edgar Hurst, Norman Hurst, Larry Hurst and Ronnie Hurst, all of Odessa; daughter, Teresa Ervin of Odessa; brothers, Raymond Hendricks of Comanche, Okla., and Eugene Hendricks of Midwest City, Okla.; and sisters, Artivita Smith and Gretna Stover, both of Midwest City, Okla.

Morris Lear

AUSTIN - Morris Edwin Lear, 89, of Brownwood, former sheriff of Crane County, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, in Brownwood.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Austin Memorial Park. Arrangements by Davis-Morris Funeral Home.

He was born in Travis County and was a resident of Crane before moving to Brownwood in 1963. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Lillie Bell Lear of Brownwood; and brother, Tom Lear of San Angelo.

Grace Marshall

ODESSA - Grace Evelon Marshall, 89, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, after a lengthy illness.

No services will be held. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Tyler and was a resident of Odessa.

Jerry Miller

ODESSA - Jerry Mitchell Miller, 48, a food server, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Hiser officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Lubbock and was a resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Father, Veto P. Miller of Odessa; mother, Faye Miller of Odessa; brother, Randle Miller of Odessa; and sisters, Carolyn Johnson, Joy Johnson, Darla Peters, Janice Marin and Rhonda Brand, all of Odessa.
