Jane Pointer Greenhill
MIDLAND — Deidra Jane Pointer Greenhill was born Aug. 10, 1930, to Alvin Bertram Pointer and Pearl Beatrice Friday Pointer. She grew up in Pecos and married
Joe Ed Greenhill on Aug. 19, 1955, in Fort Davis. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Mrs. Greenhill was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Pointer, and her brother, the Rev. Neil Pointer.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Greenhill of Midland; sons, Tommy Greenhill and wife Jackie of Red Oak and Steve Greenhill and wife Haydee of Odessa; daughter, Kathryn Roberts and husband Dennis of Giddings; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Pozzi of Newport Beach, Calif., and Frazee McAnally and husband W.C. of Fort Stockton; and a sister-in-law, Lavonda Pointer of Fort Worth.
Mrs. Greenhill passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Jan. 15, 2002, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David C. Mindel of First Christian Church of Odessa officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be directed to a charity of choice.
Armando Madero
ODESSA — Armando Madero, 49, a former carpet layer, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at his home in Odessa. Mr. Madero was born and lived in Odessa all his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Madero, and sister, Mary “Cuca” Madrid.
He is survived by mother, Erminia Madero; his son, Armando Madero Jr.; and three daughters, Melanie, Marissa and Myra Madero, all of Odessa. He leaves behind three beloved grandsons, Ethan, Jordan and Abram Madero, all of Odessa. His brothers are Antonio Madero Jr., Jesse Madero and Joe Madero (Diane), all of Odessa, and Alonzo Madero (Roxanne) of Giddings. His sisters include Emma Acosta (Jose), Ramona Leon, Edia Garand (Bruce), Beatriz Madero (Lanny) and Maggie Gomez (George), all of Odessa, and Sylvia Harris (Jeff) of Midland.
He was born March 26, 1952, in Odessa to Antonio Madero and Erminia Pompa.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers include his longtime friends, Ramon “Sugar Bear” Gonzales, Gabriel Perez, Ralph and Johnny Ramos, Lonnie Martinez, Paul Robles, Rick Leon, Charlie Roman, Charlie Garcia, Cipriano Gonzales and Nathaniel Ward.

Ruben C. Martinez
ODESSA — Ruben C. Martinez, 53, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at his residence in Odessa. He was born May 5, 1948, to Santiago and Rafela Martinez Jr. in Loraine.
Mr. Martinez married
Rosa Medrano on Oct. 14, 1968, and came to Odessa in 1969 from Colorado City. He served his country during the Vietnam War from Oct. 17, 1968, to Oct. 16, 1970. With a degree in communications technology, he graduated from Odessa College and was employed as a service manager with Industrial Communications Inc. of Motorola for 33 years. He was the president of the Optimist Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed drag racing and rebuilding cars.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. today, Jan. 15, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Martinez of Odessa; son, Michael Martinez and his wife Robin Elizabeth of Austin; daughters, Anjeanette Martinez, Denise Martinez and Jo Ann Dominguez and her husband Danny; and his parents, Santiago and Rafela C. Martinez Jr. of Colorado City. His brothers and sisters are Sammy Martinez of Colorado City, Danny Martinez and wife Janie of Colorado City, Anita Munoz and husband Jesse of Colorado City and Melinda Pfeifer and husband Dennis of Colorado City. He has seven grandchildren, Jeerek Michael Martinez, Alyssa Hinojos, Ashleigh and Sarah Dominguez, Campbell Martinez and Brey and Blake Dominguez.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mary Louise Mayes
ODESSA — Mary Louise Mayes, 76, of Odessa passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at her residence. She was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Kilkuck, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Mayes of Odessa; son, Kenneth Mayes and wife Patricia of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Geniva Mayes of Industry, Ill.; brother, Paul Inman of Colchester, Ill.; sister, Hazel Paul of Colchester, Ill.; six grandchildren, Tina Ramirez and husband Cruz of Odessa, Teresa Casey and husband Zack of Odessa, Kenneth Mayes and wife Paula of Odessa, Kim Mayes of Industry, Ill., Steve Mayes of McComb, Ill., and Greg Mayes of Springfield, Ill.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ira Lee Satchell
ODESSA — Ira Lee Satchell, 77, a housewife, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at her residence in Odessa. Mrs. Satchell lived in Odessa for 42 years and was previously a resident of Brenham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her father, Jordan Flowers; her mother, Annie Mae Woods-Flowers; and sons, Flowd Penny and Rufus Ray.
She is survived by her daughter, Emma Moorer (Joe) of Odessa; sister, Mary Stanton of Odessa; and grandchildren, Carolyn Gibbs (Sam) of Odessa, Darrell Gibbs (Madeline) of Odessa, Kenneth Ray of Jacksboro, Regina Ray of Jacksboro, Edward Lee Ray of Jacksboro, Lisa Penny of Fort Worth and Pamela Penny of Fort Worth.
She was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Brenham, the daughter of Jordan and Annie Woods Flowers.
Visitation will be from 1 to 10 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martinez Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. William “Bill” Tatum officiating.

Jesus Cobarrubio Sr.
McCAMEY — Jesus Vasquez Cobarrubio Sr., 63, of McCamey, a retired lease operator for Shell Oil Co., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at the McCamey Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Barry McLean officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be at Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Stockton and was a resident of McCamey since the 1950s. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Johnny Cobarrubio and Jesse Cobarrubio, both of McCamey; daughter, Lorena Torres of Crane; mother, Josefina Cobarrubio of McCamey; brothers, Jacinto Cobarrubio of Nebraska, Domingo Cobarrubio of Odessa and Praxedes Cobarrubio Jr. of Hobbs, N.M.; sisters, Louisa Garcia of McCamey and Francis Molina of Crystal City; and two grandchildren.
David Huddleston
MONAHANS — David Wayne Huddleston, 61, of Monahans, a retired teacher, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Monahans with the Rev. Francis Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Services.
He was born in Seagraves. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Vi Huddleston of Monahans; daughter, Donna Starling of Flower Mound; and two grandchildren.
Bill Millhollon
ODESSA — Bill Millhollon, 76, of Odessa, a retired homebuilder and mechanical contractor and developer, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Life Unlimited Church with the Rev. Don Palmer officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in San Antonio.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Flo Millhollon of Odessa; sons, Gary Millhollon of Albuquerque, N.M., and Tom Millhollon of Granbury; sister, Jane Saathoff of Magnolia; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Frank Moore
WOLFFORTH — Frank James Moore, 59, of Wolfforth, an employee of Doak Transport Co. in Las Cruces, N.M., died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in Boise, Idaho.
Services were at 3 p.m. Monday at Wilsons’ Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Long officiating. Arrangements by Wilsons’ Funeral Directors.
He was born in Colorado City and had been a resident of Big Spring. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Jean Moore of Wolfforth; son, Ronnie Moore of Wolfforth; daughter, Peggy Rice of Snyder; parents, Jim and Mae Moore of Wolfforth; brother, Jimmy Ray Moore of Odessa; sister, Vada Mae Mitchell of Abilene; 13 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
