Harold Baldwin
ODESSA - Harold Eugene Baldwin, 65, of Odessa, a screener for Global Aviation Services Corp., died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Seymour and moved to Odessa in 1957. He was an Army veteran.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Nita Baldwin of Odessa; son, Bill Baldwin of Garland; daughter, Shari Gifford of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; mother, Mary Ruth Baldwin of Seymour; sister, Wanda Welch of Ennis; brother, Joe Baldwin of Seymour; and six grandchildren.

Eleanor Lovelace
ODESSA - Eleanor Jean Lovelace, 72, of Marble Falls, a former Crane telephone employee, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at Llano Memorial Hospital in Llano.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in West Virginia and had been a resident of Odessa. She was Catholic.
SURVIVOR: Sister, Mary Catherine Giddens of Marble Falls.

Sue Parish
ANDREWS - Sue Parish, 72, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Ivy Shelton officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Frederick cemetery in Frederick, Okla. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Marlow, Okla., and moved to Andrews in 1994 from Plainview. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Renee Bridwell of Andrews and Brenda Fowler of Iowa Park; sons, Guy Parish of Plainview and T.A. Parish of Electra; sisters, Peggy Snodgrass and Shirley Abbott, both of Frederick, and Leatha Batis of Stratford; brothers, Bud Ball of Amarillo and Tommy Ball of Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.

Gary Rheingans
ODESSA - Gary K. “'Rhino'” Rheingans, 48, of Odessa, parts manager for G.E. Industrial Package and Power, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sabrina Marie Cook of Dumas; brother, Tom Rheingans of Elsinore, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Federico Villa
MANUEL BENAVIDES, Mexico - Federico P. Villa, 66, of Terlingua, a landscaper, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Saturday at Patron San Carlos Iglesia Catolica with the Rev. Pedro Santoyo officiating. Rosary will be said at 11 a.m. today at Funeraria San Carlos. Burial will be at Manuel Benavides cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Manuel Benavides, Mexico. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Alberta Villa of Manuel Benavides; daughters, Anna Chavez of Odessa, Pabla Villa of Milky, Mexico, and Delfina Villa of Presidio; sons, Manuel Villa of Odessa, Elifonso Villa, Placido Villa and Carlos Manuel Villa, all of Manuel Benavides, Federico Villa Jr. and Roman Villa, both of Midland; father, Roman Villa of Manuel Benavides; brothers, Jose Villa, Victor Villa and Alisteo Villa, all of Midland, Facundo Villa and Domingo Villa, both of Manuel Benavides; sisters, Esperanza Villa of Terlingua, Maria Jesus Villa, Luciana Villa and Alejandra Villa, all of Manuel Benavides, Maria Villa and Josefina Villa, both of Midland; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Maurine Schooler Chambers, 81, of McCamey died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

ODESSA - Carson Beatrice Hill, 82, of Odessa died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at her residence.
Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Eldon Maney
ODESSA - Eldon H. Maney, 82, of Odessa died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at the Hospice House.
Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Max Morris
KERMIT - Max Ray Morris, 71, of Kermit died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at his residence.
Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home.

Johnna Wilkerson
ODESSA — Johnna Wilkerson, 40, passed away Friday, May 10, 2002, in Midland County. She was born May 30, 1961, in Perryton, Texas.
Johnna moved to Odessa in 1970. She was married to David Medlin for ten years. They were wed on March 8, 1985. Later, she married Mitchell Wilkerson on Feb. 20, 1998, in Odessa. She worked for the Bobby Cox Companies for eight years and was a member of the Sherwood Christian Academy School Board. She taught women’s Bible studies, and enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching.
There is a family visitation scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2002.
Services are scheduled for 4 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2002, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Her mother, Gwendolyn Jeanne Allen, and grandparents, Gene and Grace Akers, and Irvin Allen all preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Wilkerson; son, Jonathan Medlin; stepson, Brandon Wilkerson; stepdaughters, Tanisha Stevens and Keesha Wilkerson, all of Odessa. Also surviving her are her parents, Bill Allen of Odessa, and Chuck and Mary Griffin of Wichita, Kan.; sister, Stephanie Todd of Midland; one grandchild, Dalton Stevens of Odessa; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Madison, and Dillon Todd of Midland, and Michael Rex of Odessa; aunt and uncle, Sue and Larry Lackey and their children, Shelly and Larry, of Temecula, Calif.
Memorials may be made to Sherwood Christian Academy in Johnna’s memory.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

James “J.W.” Brantley
MCGREGOR — James “J.W.” Brantley of McGregor died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in McGregor at the age of 80.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel in McGregor, with the Rev. Danny Reeves officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
Mr. Brantley was born Sept. 15, 1921 in Valley Mills, Texas, the son of the late James Nathaniel and Lola Launa (Baldridge) Brantley and was a 1942 graduate of Walnut Springs High School where he played football with the nickname of “Lizzard.”
He married Ruby LaNell Lindsey in Hereford, Texas who preceded him in death Oct. 16, 1986. On May 14, 1990, he married Lorene Roberts in Midessa Heights. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1945. He was employed by Gardner-Denver Oil Field Company in Odessa.
In 1991, he moved to McGregor from Midessa Heights and became a member of the First Baptist Church of McGregor.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Brantley of McGregor; one son, James Weldon Brantley of Midland; two daughters, Jana Sue Hawkins of Burnett, Patti Lynette Pullen of Midland; one sister, Ethel Sowell of Glen Rose; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Larry Howard Hoover
ODESSA — Larry Howard Hoover, 60, of Odessa died May 9, 2002, at his residence.
Larry was born Jan. 17, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Lewis H. and Juanita Kleinegger Hoover. The family moved to Odessa in 1955. He married June Chandler on May 29, 1961 in Odessa.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, June Hoover; his mother, Juanita Hoover of Odessa; two daughters, Terri Baker and husband, Valon, and Tammi Rodgers; grandchildren, Brandon and Brittani Baker and Josh Rodgers; mother-in-law Ada Chandler; one nephew, Kevin Chandler and wife, Cyndi, one niece, Kelli Welch and husband, Brian; two great-nephews; and three great-nieces, all of Odessa. Larry also leaves a lifetime of dear friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Lewis H. Hover, his father-in-law, Howard Chandler and his brother-in-law Jimmy Chandler.
In May 1966, he received a Chemical Engineering degree from Texas Tech University and went to work for El Paso Products Company in Odessa. He received his Professional Engineers license in 1971 and earned a Masters of Engineering degree from Texas Tech in 1972. He also earned a Masters of Business Administration degree in 1977 from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
He worked as a design/consulting engineer from 1983 to 1996 in various locals in the United States. Larry worked from 1996 to the present as a systems safety engineer for the Huntsman Corporation.
Larry was past president and a dedicated member of the Downtown Lions Club for 30 years. He was past president of the local chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He was proud to serve the city of Odessa for several terms as a member of the Mechanical Board and this past year on the Zoning and Planning board.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Odessa Downtown Lions Club Charities, 1101 N. Whitaker, Odessa or the Bynum School, a school for special needs children, 8404 West County Road, Midland.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 12, 2002, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Josepha De La O
ODESSA — Josepha De La O, 95, passed away May 10, 2002, at her residence in Odessa.
She was born on March 19, 1907 in San Antonio Del Bravo, Mexico to Marcellino and Rosario Sanchez. She was married to the late Carlos De La O.
She was a Catholic and a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters, Raimunda (Rai) Prado and husband, Eloy, Petra (Pat) De La O, and Lorene Ramirez and husband, Fermin, all of Odessa; seven grandchildren, Eloy Prado, Josie Prado, Christina Rodriguez, Carlos Galindo, Rosie Diaz, Patty Sotelo, and Laura Ramirez; and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Carlos, three infant children and brother and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Eloy D. Prado, Ricky Diaz, Christina Rodriguez, Fausto Sotelo, Alfred Castillo Jr., Josie Prado and Carlos Galindo.
Rosary will be recited at Odessa Funeral Home on Sunday May 12, 2002, at 7 p.m. Mass services will be celebrated Monday, May 13, 2002, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating, followed by burial at Rose Hill cemetery. Services by Odessa Funeral Home.
