ANDREWS — William Richard ‘Dickie’ Lepard, 49, of Andrews, principal of Clearfork Elementary, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike O’Neill of Northridge Baptist Church in San Angelo and H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park cemetery in Big Spring. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
He was born in Big Spring. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Karla Lepard of Andrews; son, Bryan Lepard of Weatherford; daughter, Amy Lepard of Lewisville; parents, Waymon and Betty Lepard of Andrews; brothers, Lawrence Lepard of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Ron Lepard of Big Spring; and one grandchild.
Anita Leyva
FORT STOCKTON — Anita “Nena” S. Leyva, 61, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Rosary will be said Monday at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Sanderson.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Jose H. Leyva; sons, Julian Leyva and George Leyva of Fort Stockton; daughter, Angie Quiroz of Fort Stockton; brothers, Santana Sarabia, Acension “Chon” Sarabia and Arturo “Chavel” Sarabia of Fort Stockton; sister, Angelita S. Diaz of Fort Stockton; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

BALMORHEA — Barbara M. Ortega, 80, of Balmorhea, a homemaker, died Friday, April 5, 2002, in Carlsbad, N.M.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church with the Rev. Miguel Angel Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at Balmorhea cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Marfa. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Salvador Ortega Jr. of Carlsbad; daughters, Lydia Payan of Odessa, Carolina Brijalba of Marfa and Maria Louisa Riley of Carlsbad; brother, Ruberto Millan of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Socurro Rodriguez and Yvonne Martin, both of Pecos, Cinderlla Garcia of Balmorhea, and Diane Gonzales of Tucson; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Emilio Pena Acosta, 47, of Odessa, a construction laborer, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
He was born in San Antonio del Bravo, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Angelica Jiminez of Odessa; sons, Emilio Acosta Jr., Edel Acosta, Xavir Acosta and Elae Acosta, all of Pecos, Jose Luis Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Martin Marquez Jr. and Omar Ibarra, both of Odessa; daughter, Asusena Urias of Presidio; parents, Jesus and Manuela Acosta of Odessa; brothers, Jesus Acosta Jr. and Rigoberto Acosta, both of Odessa, and Ector Acosta of Monahans; sisters, Ofelia Valeriano, Candelaria Baeza and Otilia Zapata, all of Pecos; and four grandchildren.

ODESSA — Bonnie L. Chesnut, 79, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Tom Hiser officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Beggs, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1957 from Bristow, Okla. She was a member of the Church of God.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Carol Carroll and Tenna Buchanan, both of Odessa; sons, Jimmy Chesnut of Midland and Roger Chesnut of Wimberley; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
John Cubine
KERMIT — John Cubine, 73, of Kermit, a self-employed metal fabricator, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, in El Paso.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Russ Smith Sr. officiating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
He was born in Amarillo and was a resident of Kermit for 37 years.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Dorothy Cubine of Kermit; sons, Steve Cubine of Gilbert, Ariz., Sam Cubine of Grants, N.M., and Mike Cubine of Kermit; daughter, Kathy Bell of Norco, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

KERMIT — Delia Martinez, 48, of El Paso, a licensed vocational nurse, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso.

She was born in Kermit. She was Catholic.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
She was born in Valley Mills and was a resident of Odessa for 80 years.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Lou Dulin of Ruidoso, N.M., and Peggy Cobb of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. — Ollie M. Phillips Moore, 88, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Blue Mountain cemetery. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home.
She was born in Bellmoore, Ark., and had been a resident of Prescott, Ark., before moving to Odessa. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Lela Hardy of Odessa; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Arvel Stewart, 91, of Odessa, a retired laborer, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Ector County cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Thompson officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in China Springs and moved to Odessa in the late 1930s. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Brother, Roy Stewart of San Antonio; and sister, Ruth Perkins of Graham.

ANDREWS — Peggy Taylor Wetzel, 73, of Andrews, retired operator of Wetzel Service Station in Frankel City, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Wild Horse, Okla., and moved to Andrews in 1947. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, James Wayne Wetzel of Plano, David Lee Wetzel of Brookville, Ind., and Harvey John Wetzel of Andrews; daughter, Judy Wetzel Brown of Claremore, Okla.; brothers, R.A. Alexander Jr. and Jack Alexander, both of Tulsa, Okla.; sister, Billie Mae Greenhaw of Owasso, Okla.; and nine grandchildren.
