ODESSA - Thomas Hernandez, 52, of Odessa, a truck driver for United Fuels, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Pablo Tiong officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Leming.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Tommy Hernandez of Sweetwater, Paul Hernandez and Rocky Hernandez, both of Odessa; brothers, Steve Hernandez of Lubbock and Felipe Hernandez of Union; sisters, Mary Ann Ontiveros of Brownfield, Rose Munoz of Hobbs, N.M., Mary Brionez and Stefana Aguilar, both of Seagraves, Carolyn Patterson of Mansfield and Olivia Huron of Pleasanton; and six grandchildren.

W.H. Johnson
ODESSA - W.H. “Dee” Johnson, 92, of Odessa, a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at the Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Cordell, Okla. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Nieces, Terri Enloe of Marble Falls and Pat Moscarella of California.

Selma Kunkel
LAMESA - Selma Anna Otillia Kunkel, 89, of Amarillo, a homemaker, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Bivens Memorial Nursing Home in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Pase officiating. Burial will be at Sparenburg cemetery. Arrangements by Branon Funeral Home.
She was born in Malone. She was Lutheran.
SURVIVORS: Son, Herb Kunkel of Lamesa; daughters, Margie Ammons of Amarillo and Audrey Smith of Waco; brothers, Edwin Huse of Lamesa, Raymond Huse of Plainview and Ernest Huse of Weatherford; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Thomas Wayne Lake, 63, of Odessa, an oilfield roughneck, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Odessa cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Brownwood.

Bobby Peeples
ODESSA - Bobby Ray Peeples, 73, of Odessa, a retired operations technician for AMOCO Petroleum Co., died Monday, May 27, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Sherwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Hiser and Dr. Johnny Dickerson officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. today at the Old Andrews County cemetery in Andrews. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Tula, Miss., and moved to Odessa in 1972. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Loretta Peeples of Odessa; sons, Bobby Peeples of Houston and Alan Peeples of Odessa; daughter, Carla Hayes of Odessa; brother, Joe Peeples of Roswell, N.M.; and five grandchildren.

Eva Ramirez
FORT STOCKTON - Eva A. Ramirez, 71, of Fort Stockton, retired owner of Eva Beauty Shop, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Fort Stockton.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton and was a lifelong resident. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Esmeralda Murillo of Firebaugh, Calif.; sons, Benito Ramirez Jr. and Rene Ramirez, both of Fort Stockton; sister, Maria P. Arcides of Fort Stockton; and brother, Adan Arcides of Fort Stockton.

Maria Villegas
SEMINOLE - Maria Villegas, 74, of Seminole, a homemaker, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Reynaldo Reyes officiating. Burial will follow at the Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
She was born in Chicago and was a longtime resident of Seminole. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jaime Villegas of Lubbock; daughters, Julia Guerrero of Andrews and Irma Perez of Seminole; and three grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Marfa and was a lifelong resident of Odessa. He was Catholic.

He was born in Goldthwaite. He was Baptist.
