Billy B. Lowe Crane - Billy B. Lowe, 79, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2005, in his home in Odessa. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the Crane County cemetery. Billy was born in Corsicana, Texas, on July 15, 1926. He and his family moved to Crane when he was three years old and he graduated from Crane High School. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Marines. He was a very proud and patriotic man. Billy is preceded in death by his father, Paul Lowe, and his mother, Myrtle Lowe and a son, Ben David Lowe. Billy married his wife Joyce McCollum, December 18, 2001 and had three very happy years together. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, sons; Roger Lowe of Claremore, Oklahoma, Billy Paul Lowe, also of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Richard Lowe of Costa Rica, David McCullom of Odessa, Robert McCullom, of Odessa, Charles McCollum of Odessa, and Terry McCollum of Denton, Texas. Billy had daughters; Carroll Woods of Odessa, Denise Tursick of Denver, Colorado, Rebecca Muratet of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Barbara Hallmark, of Odessa, Cathy Terry also of Odessa, and a first cousin David Eastwood of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Billy had 32 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He had many friends who loved and adored him. He will be missed by all. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral home. Pat G. Sorrells Odessa - Pat G. Sorrells, 66, our wonderful and devoted father, grandfather and brother left us for his heavenly life, to reunite with many loved ones including his only son, on Thursday, October 20, 2005. He endured many months of suffering from the illness Amyloidosis, displaying amazing strength and a positive spirit to the end. Pat touched many lives with his generosity and wisdom and he will be truly missed by all. He was born Oct. 31, 1938 to Letha Faye and Jesse Sorrells in Gilmer, TX. He graduated high school from Lovington, New Mexico in 1957 and subsequently attended Odessa College and numerous trade schools. Pat and his former wife, Rita Sorrells of Plano, started their own office equipment business in 1962 and he was an active real estate broker for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed ranching and horse racing. He is survived by his two daughters; Sheryl Thostenson and husband Roger of Plano, TX, Stephanie Sorrells of Addison, TX, four grandchildren; Brandi, Brooks and Taylor Thostenson of Plano, TX. and Chandler Sorrells of Lake Charles, LA, one brother; Lynn Sorrells and wife Brenda of Highlands, TX., two half-brothers; Danny and David Sorrells of Gladewater, TX, one half-sister; Linda Tew of Larmarque, TX, one step-brother; Ron Bailey of Tuscon, AZ, one step-sister; Lee Conley of Gladewater, TX, and fiancé; Carol Curtis of Sunrise Beach, TX. He is preceded in death by his mother; Letha Faye Prichett Sorrells, father; Jesse Leonard Sorrells, step-father; Willard Scott and son; Shane Sorrells. Family and friends can gather Tuesday for visitation from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Sunset Memorial. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 6801 E. Hwy #80, Odessa, TX 79762. 432/362-2331. Interment to follow. Reception, 12:30-2:30 p.m. at MCM Grande, 6201 E. Business #20. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to your local Womens and Childrens shelter. Donna Trout Barnett Odessa - Donna Trout Barnett, loving daughter, sister, mother and teacher passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Hospice House in Odessa. Donna was born September 10, 1951, in Odessa to Billy W. Trout and Wanda (June) Trout. She attended Permian High School and was a graduate of UTEP with a bachelor’s degree in education. Donna was a loving and caring person who cherished her family, friends and above all her son, Kade. She enjoyed much in life but especially loved her job as a teacher and riding her horses. She was not only beautiful on the outside but even more so on the inside. She will be greatly missed by many. Ms. Barnett is survived by her son; Kade Morrow, her parents; Bill and June Trout, her sister; Cindy Trout Sharp and two nephews, Cody and Casey Sharp, all of Odessa, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Services honoring her life will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 2005, at 4:00 p.m., with Dick Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Bessie Cunningham Odessa - Bessie Cunningham of Odessa, went to be with her Savior on October 28, 2005. She was born March 28, 1922, in Hubbard, TX. Bessie was a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, of 64 years. She is survived by a son, Tom Cunningham and wife, Peg of Westminster, CO; a daughter, Paula McMillian, of Odessa; two grandsons, John Cunningham and wife, Devin of Lafayette, CO; and Charlie McMillian and wife, Sheena of Lufkin, TX; two granddaughters, Julie Cunningham of Littleton, CO, and Candi Leverett and husband, Jason, of Odessa; and five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Services will be at Temple Chapel, on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Griffin Jones officiating and Rev. Johnny Thompson assisting. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Linda Jeanene Moyers Odessa - Linda Jeanene Moyers, 64, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born October 10, 1941 in Odessa to T.J. & Ina Lou Whitley. She was a retired retail cashier. She loved her grandchildren and her cat, Millie. She was a good Mother and provider for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Jeff Turley. She is survived by her son Jim Turley of Odessa and grandchildren, Jenica, Julie & Christopher Turley. A Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday October 31, 2005 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Stan Smith Odessa - Stan Smith, age 65 of Odessa, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2005. He was born May 25, 1940 in Greely, Colorado to Francis J. and Helen Olson Smith. Stan is survived by his wife Reta, son Steve Smith and wife Michelle of Denver, Colorado, step-sons Chad Denney and wife Dionne of Odessa and Jeremy Denney and wife Kara of Justin, TX; brother Sid Smith of Denver, Colorado, sister Dianne Brady and husband Robert of Valley Forge, PA; four grandchildren Krystal, Kelsie, Kyler and Kody and three step-grandchildren Dylan, Colton and Spencer. He is preceded in death by a son, Scott Smith and his parents. Stan enjoyed restoring old cars, playing chess, and was a life master in bridge. He loved to travel, enjoyed history and keeping up with politics. Stan also had a special association with the Class of 1958 from Powell, WY. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 31, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Odessa Christian Faith Center, 8860 Andrews Highway with Pastor Don Caywood officiating. James Dale Franklin ODESSA - James Dale Franklin, 65, of Odessa, passed away Friday May 6, 2005, at Regency Hospital in Odessa. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Westside Apostolic Church at 2500 N. Tripp Ave. in Odessa, with Allen Harris officiating. James Dale Franklin was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Butler, Texas, to Pelham Gordon Franklin and Johnnie Mae Jenkins. He married Betty McCowen on Oct. 11, 1963, in Stamford, Texas. Mr. Franklin was the owner of Photo Visions. He is preceded in death by his sister, Billie Booth; and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Betty Franklin of Odessa; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Angelique Franklin of Odessa; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Beth Franklin of Stamford; sister, Bonnie Thompson of Odessa; special friends, Ben and Dianne Penn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Troy Lee Webb MIDLAND - Funeral services for Troy Lee Webb will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. Troy Lee Webb was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Midland, Texas, the fifth child of the late James William Webb Sr. and Katie Mae (Glenn) Webb. Troy received his education in the Midland Independent School District. He was a graduate of Carver High School. He was a Lineman on the Carver Hornet football team. He played on a semi-pro football team — the Midland Roughnecks. Troy loved the game of golf and was a member of the West Texas Amateur Golf Association. One of his favorite sayings when playing golf was, “Long and wrong.” His son-in-law states that “He would always find the ball no matter where it landed.” He also loved high school football, and he was a died-hard fan of the Midland Lee Rebels. Troy united in holy matrimony to Delores “Lois” Jean Pettes on June 14, 1969. They were blessed with three children. Troy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a child, he attended Alexander Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop J.E. Alexander. He later united with the Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. G.T. Curry Sr. And in 1986, he and his family united with the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. O.J. Archie, where he served until God called him home. Troy was a member of the Senior Usher Committee, a Deacon, teacher of the men’s Sunday School class, a member of the Training Union, Brotherhood and the Male Chorus. He also served from time to time as church custodian and bus driver. He loved working and talking with the young people at church. He was a dedicated and faithful member. Troy’s employment included Rich Air Co. of Midland, Texas; and Gulf Oil Co., which later became Chevron Oil Co., where he worked for 24 years. After Chevron, he was employed with the Midland Independent School District Transportation Department as a bus driver. He loved this job, because it gave him an opportunity to interact with many young people. Troy started his own business, “Troy’s Handy Man Service,” and went on to Midland College to pursue his certification in heating and air conditioning. After his certification, he was employed by the City of Midland Housing Authority in December 2000, where he was still employed until his death. Troy Webb departed this life on Wednesday, May, 4, 2005, at Midland Memorial Hospital. To cherish his memories, he leaves his loving and devoted wife, Delores “Lois” for 35 years; two daughters, Michelle Lewis and husband Patrick of Forney, Texas, and LaFonda Webb of Midland, Texas; one son, Travares Webb of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Ina Pearl Stroud and husband Greg of Carson, Calif., Willie Ruth Adams, and an extended sister, Mattie Pearl Lee, both of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren, Patrice Lewis, Antoine Lewis and Treyvon Lewis; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gover and Laura Pettes. Preceding him in death were his mother and father; two brothers, James “Blue” Webb Jr. and Robert Webb. To further cherish his memories, he leaves sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; relatives; and so many friends. Pallbearers are Thomas Williams, John Cooper, Raydell Hudgins, Eddie Sanchez, Gerald Conally, Larry Valentine, Anthony Borens and Renae Cook. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home. Kenneth L. Kennedy ODESSA - Kenneth L. Kennedy 82, of Odessa, passed away Friday, May 6, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital. Kenneth was born June 11, 1922, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Javus Riley Kennedy and Stella Amanda White Kennedy. He was a member of Oddfellows Lodge for 55 years. Kenneth is survived by brother, Tommy Kennedy of Odessa; sister, Mrs. Christene Barker of Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack Weldon Kennedy and James Ray Kennedy; five nieces; and two nephews. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Roy Smalling officiating. Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
