Konczak, Jerry Lynn
Services for Jerry Lynn Konzak, 58, of Kilgore will be ten a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the Chandler Street Church of Christ with Chris Vidacovich and Jay Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery, Tyler, Texas. Mrs. Konczak died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at her home.
She was born December 15, 1946 in Kermit, Texas. Mrs. Konczak attended public schools in Seminole, Texas and graduated high school from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas. She graduated from Tarleton State University in 1965 and did post graduate work at Abilene Christian College. Mrs. Konczak was a member of the Chandler Street Church of Christ. She was an educator who taught in Winters and Fort Stockton before becoming the Director at the East Texas Christian Academy in Tyler. Educating children was her goal in life.
Mrs. Konczak is survived by her husband, Tommy Konczak of Kilgore; a son and daughter-in-law, J.T. and Angie Konczak of Kilgore; her mother, Scharlene Billings of Kilgore; two grandsons, Tucker and Ryder Konczak of Kilgore; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, W. L. Billings and a brother, Walt Billings.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning between nine and ten a.m. at the Chandler Street Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Texas Christian Academy, 1797 Shiloh Road, Tyler, Texas 75703 or to Greater Hospice of Texas, 1905 West Loop 281 Space 81, Longview, Texas 75604.

Simpson, Leslie Todd
Services for Leslie Todd Simpson, 43, of Longview will be two p.m. Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Reeder officiating. Burial will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Mr. Simpson died Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at his home.
Mr. Simpson was born was born July 24, 1962 in Crosbyton, Texas. He attended schools in Malta, Tripoli, Libya; Geneva, Switzerland and was a 1980 graduate of Kilgore High School. Mr. Simpson attended Kilgore College. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed scuba diving and snow skiing.
He is survived by his parents, Danny and Lola Simpson of Kilgore; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Jimmy Kirkland of Kilgore; niece, Heather Davis of Kilgore; special friend, Lisa Myers of Weatherford; grandmother, Lillie Neff of Lubbock; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Harrell, Orval and Elsie Simpson.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Thursday evening between six and seven p.m.

Williams, Adam Franklin
Services for Adam Franklin Williams, 35, of Kilgore will be two o’clock p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Don Beebe officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mr. Williams passed away Friday, September 23, 2005 at his home in Kilgore.
He was born August 27, 1970 in Longview, Texas. Adam attended Longview High School and later went to work in the East Texas Oil Fields. He was currently working for Pioneer Drilling out of Henderson. Adam had several passions the oil field, loud music but most of all his children. No one loved his children more than he loved his boys and he did it proudly.
He is survived by his two sons Alex and Taylor Williams of Diana; girlfriend René Blanchard of Longview; father and step-mother Fred and Betty Williams of Kilgore; two brothers Ricky Welch of Kilgore and David Williams of Amherst, New York; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
His son Zachary Williams, his mother Georgianne Williams and sister Beth Choate of Branson, Missouri, precedes Adam in death.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 26, 2005, at the Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Hobbs, Jarmon
Services for Jarmon Hobbs, 52, of Kilgore will be two p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Don Beebe and Reverend Tom Beene officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Hobbs died Thursday, September 29, 2005 in Kilgore.
He was born in Kilgore, July 22, 1953 to Virginia and J. D. Hobbs. Jarmon was a 1971 graduate of Leverett’s Chapel. He married Diann Tanner in 1987. Jarmon was an independent contractor for Southwestern Bell and Verizon telephone companies. He was one of the original founders of Victory Road Baptist Church and was it’s associate pastor for several years. Jarmon never met a stranger. He proudly lead a home bible study group with his friends.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Diann Hobbs of Leverett’s Chapel; a son, Brandon Hobbs of Longview; three daughters, Ashley Leach of Kilgore,
Amanda Moses and her husband, Jamie of Kilgore, Zollie Hobbs of Leverett’s Chapel; his mother, Virginia Hobbs Snider of Kilgore; two sisters, and a brother-in-law, Kylene and Michael Gerstner of Silverton, Colorado, Danae Plotner of Garland, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Conan and Lois Hobbs of Kilgore; six grandsons, Dylan Leach of Kilgore, Cameron Hobbs of Longview, Colton Hobbs of Longview, Clayton Odom of Kilgore, Brendan Hobbs of Longview, Landon Moses of Kilgore; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jarmon was preceded in death by his father and a brother Jay Dee Hobbs.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between six and seven-thirty p.m.

MR. DONALD LEE ANDERSON
Graveside Services for Mr. Donald Lee Anderson, 83, of Kilgore will be held Monday, October 3, 2005 at Two O’clock in the afternoon at the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Mr. Anderson passed away at his home in Kilgore Thursday.
Donald Anderson was born October 8, 1921 in Oklahoma. Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. While living in West Virginia he worked in the Steel Mills.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Anderson of Kilgore; three daughters; seven step-children, Phillis Keen, Phillip Byrd, Madelyn Byrd, Michelle Herber, Daivd Byrd, Jack Harvath and Jonathan Byrd; several grandchildren and great grand-children; and several sisters.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.

Martin, Bobby
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Martin, 74, of Kilgore are pending at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mr. Martin passed away Wednesday in a Longview hospital.

Harris, Glen
Graveside services for Glen Harris, 82, of Kilgore will be two p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Fay Baird officiating. Mr. Harris died Sunday at a local hospital.
He was born August 30, 1923 in Peason, Louisiana to John Henry and Dora Mae Harris. Mr. Harris moved to Kilgore in 1939. He was a truck driver before he owned and operated the Harris Food Mart.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Doris Harris of Kilgore; two sons, Eddie Wells of Kilgore, Gary Harris of Longview; three daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Joe Polatti of Longview, Jeannie and Monty Gore of Longview, Sherri and Damon Gaudet of Longview; two brothers, M. L. “Red” Harris of Kilgore, D. R. “Dennis” Harris of Kilgore; three sisters, Una Smith of White Oak, Mary Van Valkenburg of Kilgore, Robin Richardson of Liberty City; five grandchildren, Donna Harold of Longview, Ashley Morgan of Longview, Tara Bruner of Longview, Trey Bruner of Longview, Misty Christopher of Longview; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald “Joe” Harris.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday evening between six and seven-thirty p.m.
Pallbearers are to be Mike Edwards, Jay Sawyer, Ricky Peek, Bobby Kerley, Mat Morgan and Don Smith.

Kirgan, Gertrude
Gertrude Kirgan, 89, of Kilgore died Tuesday, October 5, 2005 in Kilgore. Mrs. Kirgan is to be cremated.
She was born February 1, 1916 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Rudolph and Frieda Wuttke. Mrs. Kirgan grew up in Canada and moved to the United States in 1951. She lived in Granite City, Illinois before moving to Kilgore in 1979. Mrs. Kirgan was a Presbyterian and was faithful to her family and many longtime friends.
Mrs. Kirgan is survived by her son, Glenn F. Murray of Lakeview, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Sandra Whitcomb of Longview, Rita Whipple of Kilgore; Jerome Murray and family of Edmonton, Canada, Dale Murray and family of El Dorado, Arkansas, Daniel Murray and family of Minden, Louisiana; a sister, Hilda Tottle of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; she had many great-grandchildren, including, James Engeman of Kilgore, Brian Forbus of Kilgore, Brett Forbus of Kilgore, Chloe Whipple of Kilgore, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy Kirgan; a great-granddaughter, Gwendolyn Baughman Engeman; one brother; and one sister.

Andrews, James Paul "Butch"
A memorial service for James Paul “Butch” Andrews, 57, of Kilgore will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Laird Hill Methodist Church. Mr. Andrews passed away Sunday, October 2, 2005 in Longview. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
Butch was born June 28, 1948 in Oklahoma. He is a retired cabinetmaker. All his friends and family will miss butch.
Mr. Andrews is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Ricky Steddum of Kilgore; two adopted brothers Albert Knight of Kilgore and Johnny Ballard of Henderson; nephew Troy Berry of Kilgore as well as many loving friends.
Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by his wife Roxanne Andrews.

MR. ROY SHOOPMAN
Graveside Services for Mr. Roy Shoopman, 48, of Kilgore will be held Monday, October 10, 2005 at Two O’clock in the afternoon at the Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Shoopman passed away Wednesday at Laird Memorial Hospital.
Roy Shoopman was born March 1, 1957 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee son of the late Roy and Artis Rosa Shoopman. Roy will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend. He was a former employee of Mansfield Plumbing Products in Kilgore.
Mr. Shoopman is survived by his wife Cindy of Kilgore; son, Roy Lavon Shoopman of Kilgore; daughter, Wendy Michelle Terry of Kilgore; granddaughter, Jorric Terry of Kilgore; brothers and sister, Michael Shoopman, Marty Shoopman, Johnny Shoopman and Dolores King; he is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a host of friends.

Hunter, John W.
Graveside Services for John W. Hunter, 67, of Kilgore will be at Danville Cemetery on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Roger Hoffpowier officiating. Mr. Hunter died Sunday, October 9, 2005 in Longview, Texas.
He was born to Johnnie and Helena Hunter on December 16, 1937 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Mr. Hunter moved to Kilgore in 1955 and went to work in the East Texas Oil Fields where he worked for 40 years. He started at the bottom and worked his way up to a supervisory position and retired from Marathon Oil Co. Mr. Hunter was a man of integrity with a strong work ethic and was well respected by his peers. He was an avid sportsman. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and brother. Mr. Hunter was loving and had a tender heart and will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Hunter is survived by his two children: Stephen Robert Herring of Kilgore and Michael Allen Herring of Hot Springs, Arkansas; brothers and sister, Jerry Paul Hunter of Ruston, La., Richard Scott Hunter of Lindale, Texas, Gail Christine Hunter of Pearland, Texas, Michael David Hunter of New Iberia, La., Percy Dale Hardy of Pearland, Texas and Mark Valentine Hardy of Conroe, Texas; grandson Michael Paul Wittie of Hot Springs, AR as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
His parents and his wife, Joyce May Hunter, preceded him in death.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association and/or American Diabetes Foundation.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday evening between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
