William H Greenlee

William H Greenlee, 89, was born Nov. 23, 1918 in Potawatamie County, Oklahoma, and died March 24, 2008. A graduate of Konawa High School in Oklahoma, he was drafted into the United States Army at the beginning of World War II. He served in the 455th Battalion of Patton's 3rd Army, and was in the Invasion of Normandy. He served 304 days in combat, and was the recipient of the Bronze Star for his bravery on the battle field.

After World War II, he moved to Texas City, Texas, one month before the Texas City Explosion in 1947. He married Faye Emerson on June 1st, 1947.

Together, they were active members of First Baptist Church in Texas City, Texas for most of their 54 years there. He retired from Union Carbide after

33 years as an operating engineer. They loved traveling, and in retirement he and Faye traveled most of the world.

In 1999 they moved to Lubbock to be closer to family. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lubbock. An avid history lover, he served as a docent at the Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock, giving tours as he walked on a walker, or in his wheelchair. He loved to share his experiences of WWII, the stories never changing, and always accurate. His military service in World War II was the epiphany of his life.

He is survived by his only child, Janis Greenlee Hayes, her husband, James Michael Hayes, who he adored as a son; a granddaughter, Erin Hayes Burt, and husband, Adam, of Tucson, Arizona; and a grandson, William Austin Hayes of Lubbock. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Faye Emerson Greenlee.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Rev. John Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Pamela Gaye Wright

Pamela Gaye Wright, 33, of Abilene died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Jayton, with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Double Mountain cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pamela was born May 12, 1974, in Midland. She was a 1993 graduate of Frenship High School and a graduate of Southern Cal Tech Banking and Accounting Institute.

She is survived by one son, Jonah Wright of Abilene; her father, Elvis Ray Wright of Lubbock; her mother, Bette Parker Wright of Jayton; one brother, Phillip Ray Wright of Monroe, La.; and her maternal grandparents, Roland and Ila Parker of Jayton.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Wright.

Douglas Scott Vickery

Douglas Scott Vickery passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Silver Pines Nursing Home.

Scott was born July 3, 1954 in Lubbock; son of the late W.J. "Vic" Vickery and Mary Lee Vickery Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica and husband, Russell Adkins, of Kihei, Hawaii; son, Tyler Vickery, of College Station; their mother, Kim Vickery, of Whitney; brothers and sister-in-laws David and Denise Vickery, of Sedona, Ariz., and Mark and Tammy Vickery, of Smithville; and dear friend, Leigh Ann Cloutier, of Bastrop.

Scott was a carpenter; a master wood worker and craftsman all his life. He moved to Bastrop County in 2003 and most recently was a resident of Smithville.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, at the Bastrop Christian Church with Mr. Paul Pape officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bastrop Christian Church, 1106 Church Street, Bastrop, TX 78602.

Hyacinth Leonard

Hicy Leonard was born April 19, 1934, to Roy and Leeona Gordan Tyler of Marfa.

She went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2008.

Preceding her in death are her parents and a granddaughter, Jaime Lee Scott.

Hicy has four children, Randy Crosby, father of Brittany and Trinity of Florida; Mike and Linda Kay Pearson of Lubbock; Jackie Lee Crosby, mother of Jaime and Jessica of New Mexico; and Ricky and Sherry Lynn Crosby Trulsen of Lubbock; daughter-in-law, Regina Crosby, mother of Adrainne Blake and Amada Blair of Stephenville; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Ray Burks, Abby Kathryn Grait, Sara Rene Scott, and Ryan Trent Scott.

Hicy's love of bowling began 43 years ago. She has served as Secretary, Treasurer for 22 years, and 2nd Vice President for 20 years. On a state level, she has served as Texas 600 Club president for 15 years, 1st Vice President for 10 years, 2nd Vice President for four years, a Director for 14 years, and a Delegate to TWA for 21 years and WIBC for 25 years.

Her honors include Charter Member, Life Member, Charter TWB Writers Hall of Fame, Member Emeritus and 600 Club Member. She has bowled in 37 states and 33 national tournaments.

Hicy graduated from Lubbock High in 1951. She was employed at J.C. Penney for 30 years, SPRHA for 17 years and Target Sheet Metal for five years.

Services for Hicy will be at 2 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2008 at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 until 9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be the USBC board members.

Janet Kay Swain

Janet Kay Swain, 52, of Lubbock, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 17, 2008 at 1 p.m. in Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Dale Swain.

She is survived by one sister, Betty Whitson and husband Earl; and two brothers Jack Swain, Jr. and wife Linda and Billy Tom Swain.

She was a long time resident of Mosaic of Lubbock.

Memorials may be made to Mosaic 5901 63rd. Lubbock, TX 79414.

Richard Donald Don Corcorran,

Richard Donald "Don" Corcorran, 74, Marlow, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in Duncan.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Lakeside Baptist Church in Marlow, with Rev. Lawrence Gresham officiating. Burial will be in the Hope cemetery, under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Don was born Friday, Dec. 15, 1933 in Littlefield, Texas, to Richard Otho and Easter Mabel (McCarty) Corcorran. He graduated from Lubbock, Texas High School. He joined the US Army and served during Korea and the Vietnam Era, later retiring as a staff sergeant in 1978. He traveled with the military until moving to the Marlow area in 1978. Don married Peggy Griffith on Oct. 8, 1960 in Duncan, Okla. He loved to travel in his motor home and visited every state except Alaska. He was very involved in his church and was an avid bowler. Don was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Peggy Corcorran of the home; two sons, Richard Corcorran, Jr. and wife Susan of Lubbock, Ronald Corcorran and wife Cassandra of Duncan, Okla.; two daughters, Cathy Cofran of Roswell, NM,

Donna Rinckey and husband Mark of Honor, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; brother, Robert "Bob" Corcorran and wife Lana of Lubbock; sister, Ruby Frances Clark and husband Kent of Lubbock; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dana Andrew Corcorran.

Pallbearers will be Reece Corcorran, Ronnie Corcorran, Donnie Corcorran, Brody Apel, Roy Brown and John Hughes.

Family will be receiving friends, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church Bus Fund.

Jack Kevin Hayes

Jack Kevin Hayes, 47, of Lubbock, passed away March 9th at University Medical Center surrounded by his family. There will be a memorial service March 14, at 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Brookhollow in Ransom Canyon, with Dr. Carl Anderson presiding. Resthaven Funeral Home is handling the crematory arrangements. Kev's ashes will be distributed at 200 m.p.h. at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

Kevin was born July 13, 1960, to Sharyn K. (Kurt) Kah, of Port Clinton, Ohio and Dr. Jack Hayes, a former professor at Texas Tech Medical School, now deceased. His stepmother, Jan Hayes, also survives in Boerne. He grew up in Pennsylvania and Ohio moving to Texas in 1978, graduating from Lubbock High and later attending Texas Tech. He has lived in Lubbock since that time.

He married Misty Diane Hash on Aug. 28, 1993 and they have one daughter, Jaclyn Montana, 13. His family always came first and his second love in life was high performance motorcycles. He began riding at age 11 and never gave up his appreciation for "riding in the wind."A "fire in the eyes" former high school athlete, Kevin remained an avid fan of all sports. Kevin was always surrounded by many good friends from all circles of life and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kevin ran a pest control business until his health prevented him from doing so. He became a liver transplant recipient in 2003 at San Antonio University Hospital. His sister, Tamblyn, was instrumental in helping him become a transplant candidate and has been his constant companion and care giver. Kev will continue to live forever in her heart.

A maternal grandmother, Ruby V. Poya, in Findlay, Ohio survives, as also his sisters, Tamblyn Rae Hayes, Lubbock and Tiffany Dianne (Mark) Moore; nephew, Dillon Hayes Ybarra of Findlay Ohio; his half brother, Jarrod deMeillon (Julie)Hayes of Houston; sister, Dr. Jodi Lynn (Stephen) Spoor of Boerne; two uncles, Gene E. (Nancy) Mullenix of Irvington, Ill., and Robert Luty (Charlie Ann) Hayes of Monument Colo.; and an aunt, Shirley Dianne (Joe) Ramsey of Findlay, Ohio. A sister-in-law, Sandra Hash, survives here in Lubbock. A stepbrother, Blaise (Nanci) Kah of Cincinnati, Ohio and, Tasha (Dave) Mann of Columbus, Ind. also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Jaclyn M. Hayes Scholarship Fund, 12217 North FM 2528, Lubbock, TX 79415.
