Orville "Toby" Bowles
Orville "Toby" Bowles, 78, of Coppel, TX passed away on February 26, 2003 in Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX.
Mr. Bowles was born on June 7, 1925 in Nocona, TX to James O. and Mattie Underwood Bowles. He worked in the Heating and Air Conditioning Maintenance at St. Paul’s Hospital in Dallas. He retired from the Navy and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services for Mr. Bowles were held on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Scott Morris Chapel with Rev. Brad Thompson officiating. Interment was held in Nocona Cemetery.
Surviving relatives include: one sister, Viola Walser and one sister-in-law, Lucille Bowles, both of Nocona, TX. Mr. Bowles was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Bowles; his parents; ten brothers; and three sisters.

Clarence Arthur Pelton
Clarence Arthur Pelton, 71, of Bowie, TX passed away on February 26, 2003 with a smile, a wink and I Love You in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Pelton was born on September 11, 1932 to Clarence and Daisy Stout Pelton in Dallas, TX. He was known as "Billy" early in life and later as "Curly" by one and all. He enlisted in the Marines and served in the Korean War and was in the 499th Platoon in San Diego and served for four years. He traveled all over the United States and overseas as an electrician for TI. Mr. Pelton was of the Church of Christ faith.
Graveside services for Mr. Pelton were held on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Larry Cox officiating. Services were directed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Monte D. and Benny R. Brooks, both of Bowie, TX; one brother, Durwood Pelton, Laredo, TX; three sisters, Opal Morris, Fort Worth, TX, Edna Smith, Twin Bridges, Montana and Deanna Gilbert, Boyd, TX; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nineteen nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends. Mr. Pelton was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Daisy; one sister, Leontine Conway; and one brother, James N. Pelton.

Stella Lou (Garrison) Dunn
Stella Lou (Garrison) Dunn, age 69 of Saint Jo, TX, passed away on March 2, 2003 at Bowie Memorial Hospital in Bowie.
Mrs. Dunn was born on October 2, 1933 in Gladewater, Texas to James Alton and Verdie Lou (Sullivan) Garrison. She married Melvin "Snooks" Dunn on October 7, 1953 in Wichita Falls. Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker and lived in Saint Jo for the past ten years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the AARP. She loved crocheting, needle point, painting, crossword puzzles, cooking and canning.
Services for Mrs. Dunn were held on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the McCoy Funeral Home in Saint Jo with the C.E. Cole and Chester Cullum officiating. Interment was held in the Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Survivors include: husband, Melvin "Snooks" Dunn of Saint Jo; one daughter, Cathy Berry of Edmond, OK; three sons, Barry Dunn of Wichita, KS, Kim Dunn of Odessa and Randy Dunn of Saint Jo; one grandchild, three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant siblings.
Pallbearers were Ricky Smith, Keith Berry, Mack Thweatt, Jr., J.D. Dunn, Dale Romine, Charlie Taylor and Mike Cole.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Cook and Danny Dunn.

Ella M. Langford
Ella M. Langford, 82, of Nocona, TX, passed away on March 3, 2003 at Nocona General Hospital.
She was born February 13, 1921 in Electra, TX to Clint Warden and Jessie Owens. Mrs. Langford was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Nocona.
Services for Mrs. Langford were on Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Nocona with Rev. Keith Barbee officiating. Scott-Morris Funeral Home directed the service.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marzie Lee of Nocona; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Ernest "Pete" Langford on June 19, 1993.

Jon Otis Tettleton
Jon Otis Tettleton, age 63 of Nocona, Texas, passed away on March 13, 2003 at his residence.Mr. Tettleton was born on November 29, 1939 in Ryan, OK to John Clifford and Jo Eileen Hargrove Tettleton. He married Margaret Joan Allen on May 17, 1959. Mr. Tettleton was a member of the Jean’s Men’s Bible Class and Bethel Baptist Church. He was an oilfield roughneck, pumper, worked for Nocona Boot Co. for 11 years, and owner of Tettleton’s Gun Shop and Taxidermy and Tettleton Wood Shaving Mill.
Services for Mr. Tettleton were held on March 15, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church. Dr. Joe Thedford officiated the services. Services were under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Joan Allen Tettleton of Nocona; one daugther, Christie Halbardier of Nocona; two sons, Chris Tettleton and Steve Tettleton, both of Nocona; five grandchildren, Courtney Halbardier, Cory Halbardier, Megan Gomez, Seth Tettleton, Heath Tettleton and Lindsay Paine; one great grandson, Blayne Gomez; his mother, Jo Eileen Hargrove Tettleton of Nocona; Sisters Darla Linn, Charlotte Coats and Denise Thedford; extended family, Patti Johnson, John Taylor, The Crabtree Boys and Jimmy Walker.
Pallbearers included: John Taylor, Tom Crabtree, Tim Crabtree, Jimmy Walker, Scott Embry, Bob Langford, Mike Embry, Tim Phipps, Paul Lamar, John Ed Hinton, Avis Robertson, Bill Crabtree.

Charles F. Gullage
Charles F. Gullage, 73, of Bowie, TX passed away on March 10, 2003 in Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Gullage was born on December 7, 1929 in North Bergen, New Jersey. He married Mary Lou Stevens on September 13, 1959 at Harriman, New York. He was a longtime resident of Tuxcedo Park, NY before moving to Bowie 1 1/2 years ago. Mr. Gullage was a retired traffic guard for the police department and served in the U.S. Army.
A memorial service was held for Mr. Gullage on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at Prairie Branch Country Church in Prairie Branch, TX with Rev. David Lively officiating. Services were directed by Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Mary Lou Gullage, Bowie, TX; two sons, James Gullage, Bowie, TX and John Gullage, Seattle, WA; one daughter, Jennifer Washer, Reno, NV; seven grandchildren; one sister, Elanor Stone, Cliffside Park, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2304 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls, TX 76308.

Virgie Harris
Virgie Harris, 92, of Bowie, TX passed away on March 10, 2003 in Bellmire Healthcare Facilities.
Mrs. Harris was born on March 2, 1911 in Buffalo Springs, TX to Roy and Mary Tims. She married Collie Harris on January 30, 1930 in Walters, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Mound Free Will Baptist Church in Buffalo Springs, TX.
Graveside services for Mrs. Harris were held on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie, TX with Rev. Jamie Reed officiating. Services were directed by Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Oneta Cox, Hurst, TX and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Collie Harris on January 26, 1992; and two sons, Billy Don Harris on June 9, 1996 and Royce Harris on December 5, 1999.
Pallbearers included: Royce Wayne Harris, Jacob Harris, Wade Meyer, Clint Badgewell, Jason Harris, Steve Langford and Larry Peden.

Kodi Renee` Degler
Mrs. Kodi Renee` Degler, 27, a lifetime resident of Bowie, TX passed away on March 4, 2003.
Mrs. Degler was born on July 28, 1975 in Bowie, TX to Boyce and Cynthia Hill. She graduated from Midwestern State University with a degree in Associated Science and was an X-Ray Technician. She married Aaron W. Degler on February 4, 1995 at Bowie, TX She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Bowie where she taught the High School Girl’s Sunday School Class. She was very active in the Youth Ministry at Southside Baptist Church and was active in Sandra’s Sisters Ladies Fellowship at Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Degler was also a member of the Associated Registered Radiology Technicians.
Funeral services for Mrs. Degler were held on Friday, March 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Bowie, TX with Rev. John Robles and Paster Steve Pepper officiating. Interment was held in Elmwood Cemetry under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Aaron W. Degler, Bowie, TX; one son, Kaleb Clark Degler, Bowie, TX; one daughter, Morgan Rae Degler, Bowie, TX; her parents, Boyce and Cynthia Hill, Bowie, TX; one brother, Brandon Clark Hill, Bowie, TX; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Diana and Larry Degler, Bowie, TX; her grandparents, Betty and Frank Smith and George and Florence Delger, all of Bowie, TX, Fred Pepper and Barbara Hill, both of Wichita Falls, TX and Lorraine Baltz, St. Louis, MO; and her maternal great-grandmother, Granny Moore, Wichita Falls, TX. Mrs. Degler was preceded in death by her "Pop" Dwayne Hill in 2001 and her grandfather-in-law, Wilbert Baltz in 1999.
Pallbearers included: Ben Jones, Gabe Spikes, Chad Duvall, Travis Price, Kenny Miller and Jarred Pepper. Honorary pallbearers included: Cecil Bentley and Clint Pierce
