Corene Rich
Corene Rich, 81, passed away May 30, 2003 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Mrs. Rich was born on September 25, 1921 in Austin, TX to Oscar and Ada Jane Holmes Wynn. She married Virgil Albert Rich in the early 1940’s. She worked for MHMR and was a homemaker.
Graveside services for Mrs. Rich were held on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Nocona Cemetery with Mr. Ray Grube officiating. Services were directed by Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Surviving relatives include: her daughter, Donnie Grube, Holiday, TX; one brother, Malcolm Wynn, Longview, TX; there grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Albert Rich in 1957, and one son, Thomas M. Rich.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Wanda Magee
Wanda Magee, 73, of Levelland, TX, passed away June 9, 2003 at her home.
Mrs. Magee was born July 21, 1929 in Prairie Valley, TX. She married W.B. Magee on May 27, 1947 in Henrietta. She was a member of Cactus Drive Church of Christ and volunteered as a pink lady at what was Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. At her husband’s death she helped establish a scholarship at South Plains College in his memory.
Graveside services for Mrs. Magee were held on Friday, June 11, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Nocona Cemetery with C.E. Cole officiating. Services were directed by Geo.C. Price Funeral Directors, Levelland and Scott-Morris Funeral Home of Nocona.
Surviving relatives include: her daughter, Beverly Funnell, Richland, WA; and a granddaughter, Amy Lauren, Oklahoma, TX.

Lois G. Miller
Lois G. Miller, 85, of Nocona, TX, passed away June 16, 2003 at Horizon Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Miller was born February 7, 1918 in Illinois Bend, TX to Pearl Thompson Lawler and Crockett Morgan. She married William Stephen Miller (Steve). She was a member of the Nocona Church of Christ and retired from the Nocona Boot Co. after many years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Miller were held Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Nocona Church of Christ with Dale Scott officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: a son, Gary Miller, Nocona TX; a daughter, Glenda Gee, Nocona TX; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister Zelda Robertson, Bowie, TX and a sister in law, Mildred Eaton, Greenville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Thompson Lawler and Crockett Morgan; her husband, William Stephen Miller in 1974; and a brother, Lowell Morgan in 1941.

Lula Katherine Lippencott Ratliff
Lula Katherine Lippencott Ratliff, 92, of Bowie, TX, passed away June 18, 2003.
Mrs. Ratliff was born July 22, 1911 in Bellevue, TX. She married Cecil A. Ratliff on April 17, 1931 in Waurika, OK. She was a homemaker and a member of Bellevue Methodist Church. Mrs. Ratliff was a resident of Bowie for 61 years.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ratliff were held Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at Bellevue Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Reed officiating. Services were directed by Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Arthur K. Ratliff, Bowie, TX; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth LeTourneou, Bowie, TX; two brothers, Joe Lippencott, Gainesville, TX and Wilbur Lippencott, Mesquite, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil A. Ratliff in 1984; three brothers, Audrey Lippencott in 1957, Claude Lippencott in 1981 and Cap Lippencott in 2000; one sister, Lottie Turpin in 2003.
Pallbearers included: T.J. Parr, Thomas Jones, Chuck Parr, Jason Roper, Bubba Parr and Charlie Parr. Honorary pallbearers included: Dwight Jones, Kyle Ratliff, Jerry Wade, Truston Parr, and Leo Applegate.

Florence B. Degler
Florence B. Degler, 85, of Bowie, TX, passed away June 17, 2003 at her residence in Bowie, TX.
Mrs. Degler was born April 23, 1918 in Spring City, PA. She married George William Degler. She was a homemaker.
There will be no services for Mrs. Degler.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, George William Degler, Bowie, TX; two sons, Larry Degler, Bowie, TX , and Barry Degler, Phoenixville, PA; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two sisters, Ruth Zollers and Dorothy Ottinger, both of Royerford, PA.
Contributions may be made to The Hospice of Rural Texas, 705 East Greenwood Avenue, Bowie, TX, 76230.

Bobby Gene Williams
Bobby Gene Williams, 77, Nocona, TX, passed away June 17, 2003 in Nocona TX.
Mr. Williams was born June 28, 1928 in Shamrock, OK to Ethel Morton and Floyd Williams. He married Addie Williams and was in the drywall construction business.
Graveside services for Mr. Williams were held Saturday, June 21, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Addie Williams, Nocona TX; six sons, Robert Williams, OH, Howard Williams, Texarkana, TX, Raymond Williams, Daniel Williams, Franklin Williams and John Williams all of Nocona, TX; a daughter, Georgia Williams; twenty-four grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Henderson, OK; and two brothers, George Williams, OK, and Jim Williams, CA. He was preceded in death by one son, Lester Williams.

Genevieve Irene (Yosten) Pels
Genevieve Irene (Yosten) Pels, 85, of Muenster, TX, passed away June 17, 2003 at Muenster Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Pels was born December 6, 1917 in Muenster, TX to John and Hattie Endres Yosten. She married Edward Casper Pels on October 25, 1939 in Muenster, TX. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Muenster, TX. She worked as a cook at Muenster Memorial Hospital and in the Sacred Heart Cafeteria for many years. She was a member of St. Anne’s Society and was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pels were held Friday, June 20, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Donald Brennan O.S.A. officiating. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: five daughters, Mary Lamkin, Muenster, TX, Delores Eberhart, Lindsay, TX, Beverly Stevens, Era, TX, Carol Fuhrmann, Longview, TX, and Joanie Huneycutt, Gainesville, TX; three sons, Jerry Pels, Houston, TX, Kevin Pels, Coppell, TX, and Clifford Pels, Shreveport, LA; nineteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Bonnie Hess, and Adeline Sicking, both of Muenster, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hattie and John Yosten; her husband, Edward Casper Pels; one son, Bob Pels, two sisters, Marie Hoedebeck and Elsie Horn; and five brothers, Walter, Andy, Richard, Joe and Frank Yosten.
Pallbearers included: Toby Eberhart, Eddie Lamkin, Jon Pels, Danny Stevens, Craig Huneycutt, Jared Pels.
Memorial contributions may be made the the Sacred Heart Trust Fund in her memory.

Thelma Margarette "Granny" Ross
Thema Margarette "Granny" Ross, 85, of Bowie, TX, passed away June 15, 2003 at Bowie Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ross was born October 8, 1917 in Chickalah, AR. She married Walter L. Ross on July 20, 1947 at Oklahoma City, OK. She was a member of the Capital Hill Free Will Baptist Church and taught the Ladies Auxiliary Sunday School class. She taught Vacation Bible School and was awarded the Jim Miller Award as the best teacher.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ross were held Thursday, June 19, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Cox officiating. Committal service was at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City, OK Friday, June 20, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Lonnie DaVoult officiating. Burial was under the direction of Fry Funeral Home.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Vickie Parr, Bowie, TX; two sons, Steven L. Ross, Bowie, TX and Michael W. Ross, El Reno, OK; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Ross on March 17, 1986.
Pallbearers included: Robert Grant, Lanny Hunt, Dean Robertson, Buck Fuller, David Rainey, and Roy Manley, Sr.
Contributions may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 505 Strong Street, Bowie, TX, 76230.
