Denson
CAMERON – John Talley Denson, 69, of Marlin and formerly of Temple and Cameron, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, in a Marlin hospital.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. William Angel officiating. His body will be cremated.
Mr. Denson was born in Texas, June 10, 1931, to Thomas Leland and Ann Ruth Johnson Denson.
Mr. Denson was a Navy veteran.
He worked as an insurance claims adjuster.
Survivors are two sons, Thomas Mark Denson of Red Oak and Howard Craig Denson of Maumelle, Arkansas; a sister, Dierdre Riley of Cameron; also, two grandchildren.

Flores
Graveside funeral services for Julian Flores, 79, of Rockdale were held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mr. Flores died Tuesday, March 27, in a Rockdale nursing home. A resident of Rockdale since 1989, he formerly lived in Port Lavaca.
He was born Jan. 28, 1922, in San Patricio County to Felipe Flores and Refugia Elizardo. He married Hilaria Moyao on Sept. 15, 1989, in Cameron. Mr. Flores was a concrete finisher.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Pedro Flores; a brother, Felipe Flores; and a sister, Juanita Rios.
Survivors are his wife, Hilaria Flores of Rockdale; four sons, Amalio Flores, Alonzo Flores and Joe Flores, all of Grand Prairie, and Onofre Joe Flores of Dallas; five daughters, Ramona Sepulua, Olivia Rodriguez and Maria Lucio, all of Garland, and Janie Para and Esmeralda Flores, both of Dallas; also, a number of grand children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Moore
Funeral services for Joe Gregg Moore Sr., 92, of Gause were held Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Gause with Rev. Jimmy Sanders of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in Gause Cemetery. He died April 1 in Bryan.
Mr. Moore was born in Gause and was a lifelong resident there. He was a retired rancher and retired baseball player with the New York Giants, where he played in three World Series and was a member of the 1933 World Champion Team, named to six National League All Star Teams and a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church. His wife Jewell Moore preceded him in death in 1991.
Surviving are: Sons, Joe G. Moore Jr. and wife Loretta of Gause; two grandchildren, Terri Moore of College Station and Joe G. Moore III and wife Terri, Gause; two great grandchildren, Joe Gregg Moore IV and Lauren Moore, both of Gause.

Wilhite
Funeral services for Mamie Wilhite, 93, were held Saturday, March 31, 2001 in the Tanglewood Baptist Church in Tanglewood with Rev. Joe Stevenson and Mr. Elmo Wilhite officiating. Burial followed in the Hugh Wilson Cemetery in Tanglewood. She died March 28 at her home in Tanglewood.
Mrs. Wilhite had been a Tanglewood resident for 85 years. She was born Dec. 27, 1907 in Springhill, LA to the late James Otis Johnson and Emma McNeal Stricklin.
Mrs. Wilhite and Lonnie Dewey Wilhite were married in 1925 in Tanglewood. She had been a housewife in addition to helping her family in the fields and all things needed in farm life, having been raised on the farm. Her husband preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1969 and also three brothers, Larkin, Milard and Woody Brooks Johnson.
Survivors are two sons, Elmo Wilhite and wife Ruth Ann of Tanglewood and L.D. "Rusty" Wilhite and wife Ann of Rockdale; two daughters, Belle Matlock of Rusk and Dorothy Crowder and husband Jerry of Tacoma, WA; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Melvin Matlock, Donald Matlock, John Crowder, Shawn Bostic, Heath Neidig, Major Neidig, Brandon Copeland and Trenton Copeland.

Wadlington
Funeral services for Lester O. Wadlington, 87, of Forest Grove were held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2001, at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Jim Platt officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mr. Wadlington died Tuesday, March 27, in Rockdale.
He was born Sept. 23, 1913, in Milano to Charlie and Alberta (Price) Wadlington. He lived in Milano and Sand Grove in Milam County until 1950. He then moved and lived in the Forest Grove community until his death.
On June 9, 1949, Mr. Wadlington married Doris Luetge in St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Austin. A farmer and rancher, his specialty was growing green and ripe tomatoes for market.
He attended school at Sand Grove and was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church.
Mr. Wadlington was veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and receiving a Five-Star Battle Pen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Alberta Wadlington; a son, Randal Wadlington; two brothers, Orville and Carman (Dink) Wadlington; a sister, Ruth Wadlington Mullins; a granddaughter, Trista Wadlington; and twin infant grandsons.
Survivors are his wife, Doris Wadlington of Rockdale; three sons, Gary Wadlington, Charles Wadlington and wife Sheila, and Carman Wadlington, all of Rockdale; two daughters, Karen Taylor and husband David of Caldwell and Dana Fatheree and husband Mark of Rockdale; eight grandchildren, Charles Henry Wadlington Jr., James Dean Parker Jr., Harlan Parker, Jordan Fatheree, Torin (Wadlington) Morgan and husband Scott, Stacy (Parker) McDonald and husband Kelly, Kayla Wadlington and Josephine Parker; and three great-grandchildren, Travis and Carlee Morgan and Alexis McDonald.
Pallbearers were Clyde Luetge, Charlie Coleman, Bennie Earl Wadlington, Larry Wadlington, Scott Morgan and Rudolph Schneebeli.
Honorary pallbearers were Jordan Fatheree, James Dean Parker Jr., Charles Henry Wadlington Jr. and Harlan Parker.

Junek
BUCKHOLTS – Services for Ella Mae Junek, 72, of Buckholts will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Hope Lutheran Church in Buckholts with the Rev. Gary Kleypas officiating. Burial will follow in the Hope Lutheran Memorial Park in Buckholts. She died at Scott & White Hospital in Temple on Monday, April 2, after a long struggle with cancer.
Mrs. Junek was born Nov. 17, 1928 in Brenham to Ernest Weidner Sr. and Ella Marie Kettler and lived around Buckholts most of her life. She was a lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church in Buckholts.
Mrs. Junek was a homemaker and worked at Colonial Nursing Home in Cameron as a cook for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church Hope-Rebekah Circle and was a member of the Cameron Ladies Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Junek was preceded in death by her husband, W.B. Junek, Feb. 1, 1992; her father on Jan. 14, 1985 and her mother on Sept. 7, 1993.
Surviving are: One son, David Junek of Temple; three daughters, Shirley Weddle of Mesquite, Marilyn Gonzalez of Belton and Susan Dean of Minerva; one brother, Ernest Weidner Jr. of Katy; six grandchildren and three nephews.
Family visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
Memorials may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church or the Hope Lutheran Memorial Park.

Miller
CAMERON – Funeral services for Judith Ann Miller, 56, of Temple were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Liberty Community Cemetery with Rev. Joe Weldon Bailey officiating.
Mrs. Miller died Friday, March 30, in her home.
She was born June 25, 1945, to Adrian (Pug) and Opal Swift Miller in Cameron. She worked as a medical secretary in Temple.
Survivors are a son, Jason Edward White of Navasota; a sister, Brenda Andrews of Little River-Academy; and her mother, Opal Miller of Cameron.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Community Church, Rt. 3 Box 112, Cameron, TX 76520.
