Earnest Wilson
Earnest Wilson, 84, of Greenville died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Elem Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Hood officiating. Burial will be at Grundy Cemetery.
Mr. Wilson was born on Aug. 22, 1916 in Jefferson to Sebe and Myrthe Hodge Wilson. He married Mattie Lee Scott in 1938.
He worked various jobs including construction and farming. Many people knew him as the "Woodchopper" because he would cut and deliver firewood to residents of Greenville and surrounding areas. He was a deacon at Mt. Elem Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by four sons, Ray Lee Wilson of McKinney, Smith Wilson of Garland, George Wilson of Greenville and Wayne Grisby of Mesquite; six daughters, Rosetta Canady, Myrtle Wilson, Minnie Wilson and Mary Williams of Greenville, Earnestine Armstrong of Garland and Lula Coleman of Dallas; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cozine and Tarver Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Billy Neal, Clinton Grisby, Terry Carpenter, Larry Bryant, and Rev. Jimmy Sherman.

Verbie Dodd
Verbie W. Dodd, 84, of Greenville died Friday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Weems and Mark Fawcett officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris.
Mr. Dodd was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Bairdstown to George Dodd and Lucy Towers Dodd. He married Winnie Evans on April 23, 1988 in Eureka Springs, Ark. Mr. Dodd was a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked as a maintenance department foreman for Temco until his retirement.
He was a member of Mineral Heights Baptist CHurch and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge No. 335 in Greenville.
Mr. Dodd was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lorene Dodd; four sisters and a brother.
He is survived by his wife; stepson, Randy Erwin of Greenville; stepdaughter, Judy Lederman of Kemp; brother, Cloyd Dodd of Greenville; sister, Buel GOrdon of Paris, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Travis Dodd, John Gordon, Larry Dodd and Michael Dodd will serve as pallbearers.

Morris Kuhn
LEONARD " Morris Ray Kuhn. 58, of Rapid City, Mich., and formerly of Leonard, died Friday at his home in Michigan after a long illness. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Leonard Cemetery with Gary Seaton officiating. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.
Mr. Kuhn was a professional over-the-road truck driver for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Retha Kuhn of Rapid City, S.D.; son Jeff Kuhn of Spearfish, S.D.; brothers, R.C. Kuhn of Leonard and Charles Kuhn of Brekenridge, Texas and one grandson.
Memorials may be made to the benevolent fund of the Strathavon Wesleyan Church at 1823 Sheridan Lake Road in Rapid City, Mich.

Thomas Young
QUINLAN " Thomas Young, 29, of Quinlan died Wednesday in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Wieland Cemetery.
Son of Tommy and Margie Louis King Young. He was a tatoo artist. Mr. Young was a Baptist.
Surviving are his parents; a sister, Tonnyia Branch of Garland and grandparents Clyde and Louis King.
Pallbearers will be Randall King II, Fly McRee, Sean Ingram, Danny Stewart, Leslie Cole and Garod Richardson.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Maurine Ansley
COMMERCE " Maurine Riddle Ansley, 56, of Dallas died Tuesday at her home. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today at the Church of Christ in Commerce with David Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah at 3 p.m. in Hanesville.
Born Jan. 31, 1945 in Tyler, she was the daughter of Raymond Franklin Riddle and Arlene Riddle. She was married to Charles Ansley on June 8, 1963 in Commerce. She attended Commerce public schools and joined the Church of Christ at age 13. She worked for Texas Instruments and Varo Electronics for many years and was a computer analyst for several federal savings and loan companies in the Dallas area. She moved to Dallas from Commerce in 1991 and attended the Bartalamu Baptist Church while living in Dallas.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Lloyd and Arlene Wilkins of Commerce; daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Greg Joslin of Royse City; son and daughter-in-law David and Tracy Ansley of Dallas; brother and sister-in-law Douglas and Melba Riddle of Mineola; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Chuck Houghton of Golden and Doris and Joe Scott of Greenville; brother-in-law Kenneth Ansley of Royse City; stepbrother and wife Gary and Toopie Wilkins of Clarksville; stepsister and husband Betty and James Hardman of Plano and three grandsons, Scot Ansley, Michael Ansley and Brice Joslin.
Her father and grandparents preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Sullivan, Kenneth Ansley, Gary Wilkins, Glen Savage, Bill Webb and Harold Handke.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ in Commerce.
Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Pemberton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Delores Arledge
BEDFORD " Delores O. "Dee" Arledge, 77, of Bedford died Tuesday at a local hospital. A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday at Richland Hills Christian Church, 3908 Ruth Road, Fort Worth.
Daughter of Lon and Kate Oxford of Grapevine, she was born May 10, 1924. She was married to W.F. "Bill"Arledge of Dallas in 1946. Mrs. Arledge was a current member of Richland Hills Christian Church and was a past member of Crestview Christian Church in Greenville. She was a longtime resident of Greenville and Hurst before moving to Bedford in 2000.
Mrs. Arledge is survived by son Buz Arledge of Hurst; daughters Jean Mitchell of Hurst and Gail Neese and husband Richard of Sugarland and grandchildren Parker Mitchell of Corinth, Nathan Neese of Austin and Taylor Neese of Sugarland.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to Richland Hills Christian Church, 308 Ruth Road, Fort Worth, Tx. 76118 or Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 710 West 168th Street, New York, N.Y. 10032.

Marjorie Davis
Marjorie Davis, 87, of Greenville, died Thursday morning at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Jacobia Cemetery.
Born June 4, 1914 in Emory, she was the daughter of Dr. P.W. Pearson and Ruby Duffey Pearson. In 1935 she married L.R. Davis. She and her husband were co-owners of L.R. Davis Dry Cleaning and Pressing in Greenville. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include sister-in-law Barbara Pearson of Campbell; nieces Paula Ballew of Campbell and Jan Murdock and Pam Thompson of Midland; a nephew, Mose Trimble of Athens and cousins L.M. Braziel of Emory and John Robert Braziel of Austin.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, P.W. Pearson Jr. and sisters Ruth Pearson Braziel and Louise Pearson Trimble.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Virginia Dooley
Virginia Dooley, 67, of Lone Oak died Wednesday at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Point with Heidi Rice, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Valley Cemetery.
Daughter of M.E. Harris and Lucy May Smith Harris, she was born April 15, 1934 in Cody. She and J.B. Dooley were married Nov. 18, 1951 in Point. Mrs. Dooley was a secretary at Raytheon Systems for 32 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Point United Methodist Church and she served as music director, pianist and organist and was chairperson for the Pastor/Parish Committee. She was a member of the Quinlan Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hunt County Aggie Moms Association, was secretary of the Prairie Valley Cemetery Association and was a lifetime member of the Lone Oak PTA.
Mrs. Dooley is survived by her husband of Lone Oak; a son, Brandon Dooley of College Station; daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn and Mike Bowen of Dallas, Pam and Robert Hidler of Greenville and Gayle and John Rodgers of Plano; two brothers, James Harris of Kemp and Neil Alex Harris of Point; sisters Vashti Wiggs, Anna Sonnier and Bobbie Barger, all of Dallas; grandsons Justin James and Jackson Rodgers; granddaughter Sarah McCallum and great-grandsons Micah and Matthew McCallum.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joseph Marshall Harris, William Edward Harris and Melbourne Ernest Harris and a sister, Nella Rose Nagel.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Hazel Hale
Hazel Bridges Hale, 92, of Greenville died Wednesday at her residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gaither Day officiating. Burial is in Greenview Cemetery in Miller Grove.
Daughter of Elbert Bridges and Carrie Phillips Bridges, she was born Feb. 23, 1909 in Hopkins County. In 1950 she was married to Mack Hale in Weatherford. She was a homemaker. Her church membership was with the Salvation Army.
Mrs. Hale is survived by daughter and son-in-law Betty and Charles Husbands of Sulphur Springs and grandchildren Keith Husbands of Austin and Lisa Nezer of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Anderson, in 1965; husband Mack Hale in 1982; a sister, Lois Baker in 2001 and a brother, Howard Bridges in 1991.
Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tommy Ishmael
Tommy Ishmael of Greenville died Thursday at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elmo Best and Rev. Charles Boaz officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Son of William Perry Ishmael and Tiny Mae Kitchens Ishmael, he was born Aug. 12, 1931 in Apple Springs. He married Mary Louise McDonald in Dallas on Sep. 6, 1953. He was a truck driver. Mr. Ishmael was a member of Eastside Pentecostal Church of God.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; sons Tommy Lynn Ishmael of Tyler, Don Edward Ishmael of Forney and David Michael Ishmael and Richard Dale Ishmael of Greenville; a daughter, Carolynn Annette Daugherty of Red Oak; brothers Bobby Joe Ishmael of Quinlan and Walter Perry Ishmael of Diana; sisters Johnemma Horton of Rockett, Hazel Mae Dotson and Betty Jane Wilkinson of Quinlan, Patsy Lou Lennon of Kaufman, Mary Louise Miller of Royse City and Wanda Pauline Murphy of Dallas; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
His parents, a brother and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Tessie Thompson
Tessie "Aunt Payne" Anderson Thompson, 79, of Greenville died Tuesday in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church in Greenville with Rev. M. Jolla officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.
Daughter of John Edward and Lillie Harris Anderson, she was born Nov. 5, 1921 in Leesprings, Rusk County. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Auguster Robinson of Greenville; two grandchildren, Ricky Stribling of Copperas Cove and Eleanor Brown of Greenville; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, five sisters and four brothers.
Deacons of St. John Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Culver
LONE OAK " Gladys Marie Culver, 92, of Lone Oak died Tuesday in Greenville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Christian Church of Lone Oak with Rev. Danny Calk and Rev. Robert Priest officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak City Cemetery.
Daughter of Herbert and Myrtle Lawson Burkheart, she was born Sep. 22, 1909 in Labette, Kan. She retired from Borden Ice Cream with many years of service. She lived most of her life in Kansas City, Mo., then moved to Garland and had lived the last 20 years in Lone Oak.
Surviving are two daughters, Seattle Lee Silvey of Weatherford and Wanda June Smith and husband Robert Reed of Lone Oak; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Culver on April 3, 2000 and two sons-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Steven Smith, Edward Lee Davenport, Michael Jon Smith, Kent Paluga and John Kaleb Cherry.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bartley's Lone Oak Funeral Home.

Carolyn Gordon
DALLAS " Carolyn Horn Gordon died Monday following a battle with multiple systems atrophy. A memorial service is set at 2 p.m. today at Highland Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Graveside services will be private.
She was born March 17, 1936 in Ladonia to Jake and Thelma Horn. She graduated from Commerce High School at the age of 16 and attended East Texas State University. Mrs. Gordon was an artist and owned an interior design business in Waco and Dallas until she was forced to retire prematurely.
Survivors include sons Bradley Gordon of Dallas and Brent Gordon of Glen Ridge, N.J.; her mother of Tyler; brothers and sisters, Donna Thetford and James Horn of Lubbock, Valee White of Tyler, John Horn of Mesquite, Loretta Kibler of Commerce, Jenny McFadden of Whitehouse, Brenda Jeter of Memphis, Tenn. and Sherry Maysonave of Austin and four grandchildren.
Her father preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Division of Highland Park United Methodist Church in honor of her grandchildren, Avery, Greer, Sydney and Isabel.

Hazel Hale
Hazel Bridges Hale, 92, of Greenville died Wednesday at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery in Miller Grove.

Lora Hulsey
Lora R. Hulsey of Paris, Texas, formerly of Greenville, died Tuesday at Deport Nursing Home. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memoryland Memorial Park, Greenville, with Rev. Bob Bush officiating.
Daughter of William C. Sibley and Rena Allison Sibley, she was born March 6, 1906 in Mansfield. On Aug. 15, 1927 she was married to John W. Hulsey in Greenville. She retired from Mary of Puddin Hill where she worked in production. Mrs. Hulsey was a member of Central Christian Church in Greenville.
Mrs. Hulsey is survived by a son, Gene Hulsey and his wife, Wilma, of Paris, Texas; son-in-law Bob Greaves of Greenville; a daughter, Jimmye H. Priester of Houston and grandchildren Teri Harrington of Plano, Tina Backsen of Greenville, Pamela Harrod of Wichita, Kan., Lyn Salas of Paris and Greg Hulsey of Tyler and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 20, 1959; one brother; five sisters and one daughter, Jane Greaves.
Visitation was from Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Morris Neagle
CADDO MILLS " Morris Carroll Neagle, 45, of Celeste died Monday at Baylor Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel-Caddo Mills with Rev. Loren Everett officiating.
Born in Waco on March 5, 1956, he was the son of Edward Neagle and Virginia Biles Neagle. On April 2, 1986, he married Lisa Patterson in Athens. Mr. Neagle was a telephone lineman.
He is survived by his wife of Celeste; his mother of Corsicana; two sons, Patrick Neagle of Celeste and Joshua Neagle of Utah; a daughter, Holly Neagle of Celeste; two brothers, David Neagle and Marcus Neagle both of Corsicana and sisters Frances Neagle, Bonnie Neagle, Brenda Alexander and Beckie Nelson of Corsicana.
His father preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
