Rayburn Sudderth

LEONARD - Rayburn Sudderth, 79, of Leonard died Wednesday at Wilson J. Jones Regional Health Center in Sherman. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. James Henry officiating. Burial is in Burns Cemetery in Trenton.

Mr. Sudderth was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Leonard; the son of Hubert and Ora Allen Sudderth. He married Theda Burleson On Feb. 6, 1943, and after her death on June 8, 1978, married Inez Murray on April 14, 1982, in Bonham.

He was retired from road construction work and a member of the Valley Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of Leonard; daughter, Becky Jones of Leonard; sisters, Nell Giles of Bonham and Peggy Northcutt of Dallas; step-daughters, Phyllis Coker of Denison and Ruth Taylor of Phoenix, Ariz; step-sons, Jim Williams of Broken Bow, Okla., Grady Williams of Durant, Okla. and John Williams of North Zulch; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Grady Williams, Dwayne Coker, Wayne Allen, Howard Neatherton and Ralph Northcutt.

Visitation is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William Young

DALLAS - William R. "Bill" Young died Wednesday. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Richland Baptist Church in Richardson with Rev. Thomas Adams, Rev. Manley L. Jones, Rev. John Pollard, Rev. Carter Lyles and Rev. Weldon Vietel officiating. Burial is at 1:30 p.m. in Tidwell Cemetery in Greenville.

Mr. Young was born in Honey Grove to Jack and Lillian Young. He graduated from Laing High School in Tipton, Okla. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from East Texas State College in Commerce, now Texas A&M University-Commerce.

His career in the education field as a teacher, principal and superintendent in Oklahoma and Texas included schools in Tidwell, Arp, Miller Grove, Alvord, Hudson in Lufkin, Talco and Tarkington in Cleveland.

Mr. Young was in administrative services at the Texas Education Agency for five years. He retired in 1979 as principal of Canyon Creek Elementary School in Richardson.

Mr. Young served as superintendent of Sunday School, teacher and longtime deacon of his church.

Surviving are his wife, Jewel Maurine Beane Young; children Bill E. Young of Sugar Land and Judy Clara Pippin of Euless; sisters Mary Sue Ray of Greenville and Carolyn Finkler of Clairmore, Okla.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bob Young and a sister, Katie Grose.

Memorials may be made to Baptist Men of Texas, 333 North Washington Street, Dallas, 75246, or to a charity of choice.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.

William Garrett

William Harold Garrett of Campbell died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Campbell with Rev. Cary S. Kinnaird and Rev. Joel Arnold officiating. Burial is in Brigham Cemetery in Campbell.

Born Dec. 28, 1914 in Campbell, he was the son of Tal Garrett and Lela Sandifer Garrett. He married Bessie Brummett on Jan. 31, 1946 in Campbell.

He graduated from Campbell schools and in 1936 he graduated from East Texas State Teachers College.

Mr. Garrett taught at Bivins until entering the Army Air Corps. He served in England as a chief master sergeant during World War II in the ground support B-17 452nd bomb group. He taught at GI vocationals after the war.

Mr. Garrett retired from Ward's Manufacturing Company. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Campbell.

Surviving are his wife of Campbell; a son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Charmaine Garrett of Campbell; daughter and son-in-law Diana and Dan Gossett of Campbell; grandchildren, Donna Freeman, Debbie Gossett, Dena Gossett, Cherokee Escalante and Paul Garrett and great-grandchildren Morgan and Ashlie Freeman and Haley Ann Escalante.

A sister, Mary Lavera Wiggs, preceded him in death in 1991.

Peters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Rembert Lechner

TERRELL-Rembert A. Lechner, 86, died Wednesday. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ernie McCoulskey and Rev. Robert Hawkins officiating. Burial is at 3 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dallas.

Mr. Lechner was born March 13, 1913, in Dallas; the son of Walet and Allen May Kyle Lechner. He married Nora Poston on July 14, 1942, in Dallas.

Mr. Lechner was employed for 27 years with E-Systems; retiring in March, 1978. He had ministered at several churches in the North Texas area. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Terrell.

Surviving are his wife of Terrell; daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvai and Gene Stanbery of Farmers Branch and Cindy and Carey Johnson of Terrell; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Debbie Lechner of Waco; grandchildren, Ami and Kevin Smith; Alan, Dawn and Suzy Coker; Andrew, David and Kim Lechner; Rachel, Emily, Aaron and Mary Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Austin and Katie Coker.

Memorials may be made to the Union Gospel Mission, 3211 Irving Boulevard, Dallas 75247.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home in Terrell, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Aaron Minyard

Aaron Stephen Minyard, 20, of Greenville died Tuesday in Cumby. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Arnold officiating. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Minyard was born March 22, 1979, in Dallas; the son of Stephen Grady and Doris Jean George Minyard. He was a cable puller for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.

Surviving are his parents; sister, Barbara Minyard, of California; and grandparents, Patricia Minyard and O.E. Minyard, both of Greenville and Roy and Jean George of Pope Valley, Calif.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Naomi Tice

COMMERCE - Naomi Jewell Tice, 74, of Mesquite died Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Mesquite with Rev. Ken Hamric officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.

She was born in Delta County on Aug. 3, 1924 to Marlin Tice and Della Littrell. Formerly of Commerce, she graduated from Commerce High School in 1942. She moved to Liberal, Kan. where she received office administrative training.

Ms. Tice was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Camp Maxie in Paris. She moved to San Antonio and was employed at the San Antonio Arsenal.

She moved to Dallas in 1952 and was office manager for the City of Dallas for almost 30 years, retiring May 1, 1981. She served in the Naval Reserves in Grand Prairie for 21 years.

Ms. Tice was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and the Coffee Cup Sunday School Class. Her hobbies included travel and music; she played the piano, guitar, violin and organ.

Surviving are nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is 6 to 7 p.m. today at Pemberton Funeral Home in Commerce.

William Garrett

:'Bones' Hampton

WOLFE CITY - William Raymond"Bones" Hampton, 92, of Wolfe City died Monday at Smith Nursing Home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Robert Renfro and Rev. Kevin Mitchell. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The son of S.F. and Alice Lindsey Hampton, he was born Oct. 13, 1906 in Westminster. He married Lady Geraldine Gilmer on Dec. 9, 1938 in Greenville.

Mr. Hampton served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retail merchant for 60 years in Wolfe City.

Mr. Hampton served as church treasurer at First Baptist Church for several years. He was a charter member of the Business Men's Sunday School class, a life member of Blue Lodge Excelsior 505 AF&AM and served on the board of directors for Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of Wolfe City; a brother, Other Hampton of Wylie and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Diane Hampton and four brothers.

Pallbearers are J.T. Woodruff, M.W. McWhirter, Dwight Gardner, Steve Stidham, Allen Thomason and Reuben Milton.

Honorary pallbearers are E.M. Howard, Howard Davis, W.A. Christian, R.C. Lewis, B.W. Clayton, Bobby Owens, C.D. Giddiens, James Nelson, Paul Roundtree, Dillard Wilkerson, Sidney Wasson, Howard Burnes and the Business Men's Sunday School class.

R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Jimmie Wolf

COMMERCE - Dr. Jimmie Darrell Wolf, 70, of Commerce died Saturday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Commerce with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.

Born March 13, 1929 in Dustin, Okla., he was the son of John Fibern Wolf and Louise Henry. On June 8, 1949 he married Rilda Baker in Ramone, Okla.

He graduated from high school in Wetumka, Okla. and received his bachelor of science, master of science and doctoral degrees in agricultural education from Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Wolf taught high school agriculture science in Seminole and Agza, Okla. He was an instructor at Imperial Ethiopian College of A&M Arts in Alemaya, Ethiopia.

Dr. Wolf moved to Commerce in 1966 from Stillwater, Okla. and was currently professor of agricultural science at Texas A&M University at Commerce where he had taught for 33 years.

He was a member of the Poultry Science Association, C.A.S.T., Phi Delta Kappa and the Texas Association of College Teachers. Dr. Wolf was superintendent of the Market Poultry Division of Houston Livestock Show for 30 years.

He was superintendent of the Breeding Sheep Show at the State Fair of Texas, past president of the Lions Club and past president of the Hunt County Fair board.

Dr. Wolf was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as deacon and taught children in Sunday School classes for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of Commerce; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Gary and Ann Wolfe of Mansfield and Steve and Katie Wolf of Wichita Falls; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and James Greer of Center and Elisabeth and Andy McGuire of Kings Port, Tenn.; two brothers, John Marvin Wolf of Ashland, Ala. and Paul Enoch Wolf of Guthrie, Okla.; and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Frances Marie Liles and a brother, Robert Henry Wolf.

Pallbearers are Teddy Reel, Bob Draughn, Greg Horn, Joe Venable, Kirk Webster and Heath Fisher. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Hunt County Fair Board and the Adult 3 Men's Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church.

Randy Weatherley

FRIONA - Randy "Red" Weatherley, 55, of Friona, formerly of Celeste, died Monday at his residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Friona with Leon Talley and Rev. Don Boren officiating. Burial is in Celeste Cemetery at 4 p.m. Friday.

He was born Jan. 27, 1944 in Greenville. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Mr. Weatherley was formerly employed at Hi-Pro Feeds in Friona as a sales manager for several years and was presently a self-employed cowboy.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Men's Breakfast Club, American Quarter Horse Association and American Paint Horse Association.

Surviving are his mother, Owana Weatherley of Celeste; a daughter, Kassie Weatherley of Amarillo; a sister, Linda Hicks of Celeste and a brother, Michael Weatherley of Van Alstyne.

He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Weatherley, in 1988 and a brother, Jerry Weatherley in 1984.

Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona is in charge of arrangements.

Ben Anderton

QUINLAN - Ben Anderton, 60, of Quinlan died Sunday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Wells and James Smith officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

The son of Jimmy and Bessie Nowlain Anderton, he was born April 29, 1938 in Hunt County. He worked in landscape.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Anderton of Quinlan; his father; a son, Jasson Linn Anderton of Lake Dallas; three brothers, Joe Anderton, Darrell Anderton and James Anderton, all of Quinlan; two sisters, Dorothy Thompson of Lewisville and Wanda Cannon of Kaufman and two grandchildren.

William Franklin

Funeral services for William J. "Dub" Franklin, 64, of Cash are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Combs officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

He died Sunday at Medical City Hospital in Dallas.

He was born May 22, 1934 in Shamrock to Major Lee Franklin and Thelma Inez Davis. On Jan. 6, 1976 he married Bobbi Williamson in Greenville.

Mr. Franklin served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from E-Systems where he worked as an estimator.

Surviving are his wife of Cash; a son, Jay Franklin of Grand Isle, La.; daughter Joni Andrew of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law Ginger and Royston Lightfoot of Dallas; brothers and sisters-in-law Royce and Loyce Franklin of Roanoke and Ray and Gerri Franklin of Marion; three grandchildren, Brian Humble, Tucker Lightfoot and Colton Lightfoot and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Pallbearers are John Williams, Gary Rash, Tim Drake, Brian Aube, Ray Williamson and Zack Moore.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dr. Donald Ingold

COMMERCE - Dr. Donald Alfred Ingold, 64, of Commerce died Friday in Dallas. A memorial service is scheduled today at Corinth Baptist Church in Ravenna near Bonham. Rev. Casey Ingold will officiate.

The son of Fred Ingold and Martha Klug, he was born Dec. 12, 1934 in Columbus, Neb. On May 30, 1959 he married Gladys Marty in Columbus.

He was a 1953 graduate of Kramer High School in Columbus and then worked for the FBI with J. Edgar Hoover.

Dr. Ingold attended the University of Nebraska where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees in biology in 1960. He taught school in Sterling, Kan. for three years. He received his Ph.D. in biology at the University of Wyoming in 1969.

He moved to Commerce in 1969 where he had a tenure in the Department of Biological Sciences until 1997. He gained the rank of full professor in 1984 and from 1990 until 1997 he was the department head of biological sciences.

In addition to extensive service to the University, Dr. Ingold served as chair of Athletic Council for many years. He retired in 1998.

He was a member of the Society of Sigma XI, American Association for Advancement of Science, Texas Academy of Science, Association of Southwestern Naturalists and Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society.

Surviving are his wife of Commerce; his mother of Columbus, Neb.; three sons, Danny Ingold of Cambridge, Ohio, Jaimie Ingold of Corpus Christi and Casey Ingold of Ravenna; a daughter, Kristi McCasland of Texarkana; three brothers, Fred Ingold Jr. of Ottawa, Ill. Jack Ingold of Columbus, Neb. and Paul Ingold of Ashton, Neb.; a sister, Myrna Wetgen of Columbus, Neb. and five grandchildren, George McCasland, Kristin McCasland, Donny Ingold, Tanner Ingold and Braeden Ingold.

His father preceded him in death in 1996.

Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Texas A&M-Commerce in Dr. Ingold's name or to Corinth Baptist Church, Route One, Box 282A, Ravenna, 75476.
