Felix Cantu
Felix Cantu, 57, of Junction, died Monday, May 5, 2003, in Kimble Hospital. Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at First Baptist Church in Junction with burial following in Junction cemetery. Family visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Aubrey Fife Funeral Home.
He was born March 6, 1946, in Nuevo Larado, Mexico, to Tersa and Modesto Cantu and worked for General Dynamics. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sophia, of Junction; one son, Felix Cantu Jr., of Fostoria, Ohio; one daughter, Veronica Martin, of Adel, Georgia; one brother, Eloy Cantu, of Laredo and five sisters, Estella Cantu and Aurora Cantu of Detroit, Michigan, Theresa Moses of Taylor, Michigan, and Rosa Swaney and Dora Cantu of Greeneville, Tennessee. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Sophia Martin, Alicia Cantu, Gonzalo Martin and Patricia Matrin.
Pallbearers will be Larry Maddux, Juan Lombrana, Robert Valenzuela, Jr., Rob Roy Spiller, Lee Roy Loeffler and Richard Foster.

Ronald A. Graham
Ronald A. Graham, M.D., 83, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2002, in Kerrville. Funeral services were Saturday, October 5, at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with burial following in Junction cemetery. Arrangements were by Aubrey Fife Funerals.
Dr. Graham was born March 5, 1919, in Tulia, to W.S. and Cora Graham.
After graduating from Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine, he served in the Army Aircorp as a flight surgeon. He practiced general medicine for over 50 years retiring in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, of 29 years in January, 2002, and a son, Kerry Kinsey in October 1980.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Debbie Graham of San Antonio, Dr. James and Virginia Graham of Kerrville; two daughters and sons-in-law; Barbara and Richard H. Klitch, Jr. of San Antonio, and Vicki and Jack Hoggett of Bluffdale; a sister, Jo Betsy Talek of Lorena; and by 13 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy and pride.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Leslie Willie Fish
Leslie Willie Fish, 90, of Junction, passed away Friday October 4, 2002, in Kimble Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday October 6, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Aubrey Fife Funerals. Burial followed in Junction cemetery.
Leslie was born November 6, 1911, in Junction. He was a truck driver and a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by a son, Tommy Wallace Farris.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Fish of Junction; daughters Jean Brice and husband, Tommy, of Jefferson, Carolyn Trimble and husband, C.A., of Junction; Rhonda Lofkin and special friend, John Benson, of Montgomery; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Daniel Brice, Billy Trimble, Kirk Lofton, Leslie Lofton, Tony Farris and Jim Tom Farris.

Clinton G. Ersch
Mr. Clinton G. Ersch, 70, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2002, in a San Antonio Hospital.
Ersch is survived by his wife, Jonnie Hollmig Ersch of Fredericksburg; two sons, Kenneth W. Ersch of Corpus Christi, Gene A. and Mabel Ersch of Tucson, Arizona; two step-daughters, Marcy and Steve Kelley of Austin, Tommie and Homer Mansfield of Junction; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Leland and Connie Ersch of Mesquite; one sister, Lila Fae Eli of Austin.
A memorial service for Clinton was held on Monday, October 7, at 11 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg with the Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating.
For those who so desire, you may make memorial contributions in his memory to the Hill Country Memorial Hospital Hospice, American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Schaetter Funeral Home of Fredericksburg.

Benita Burt Barnes Chenault
Benita Burt Barnes Chenault, 89, passed away October 5, 2002, in Hill Country Care Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 8, at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of Aubrey Fife Funerals. Burial followed in Junction cemetery.
Benita was born March 19, 1913, in Carson, Iowa, to Minnie Jetton Barnes and Charles E. Barnes. Benita's father, Charles, was in the cattle, horse, and mule buying business and was in Iowa with his family at the time of Benita's birth. In Benita’s early age, her family returned to Texas and settled in Anahauc. Mr. Barnes continued in the cattle business with his brothers Bill and Rufus.
Benita was preceded in death by her parents, her uncles, a sister, Minola, and three brothers, Charles, John Lewis and William Kitrel.
Benita was a homemaker, substitute school teacher, clerk for the City of Junction, sales clerk for Lathrop Jewelry, receptionist for Dr. Wiedeman and Dr. Neigut. In 1964, she and her husband, Blake, bought the Mason Gulf and Sporting Goods from Mrs. Alton Mason and established Chenault’s Gulf and Sporting Goods Store. They continued in that business until their retirement.
They enjoyed traveling in their R.V. and visiting with their children and grandchildren. She really enjoyed watching the birds feeding on their patio.
Benita is survived by her husband of 69 years, Blake; sons C.B. Chenault and wife, Shirley, of Comfort, Billy Chenault and wife, Billie, and Jimmy Chenault and wife, Judy, all of Junction. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were under the direction of Aubrey Fife Funerals.

Faye Johnson Rogers
Faye Johnson Rogers, 84, of Marble Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 13, 2003.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, at Buchanan Dam Church of Christ with pastor Willis Jernigan officiating. Burial was in Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet County, directed by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home of Kingsland.
Faye was born May 6, 1918, to Etchel and Sally Johnson in Coke, and was raised in Winnsboro. She married Grady Rogers, and they moved to Junction where they were active in the church and community for 36 years before retiring and moving to Marble Falls in 1986.
Survivors include four daughters, Janice Williams and husband, Harold, of San Antonio, Gail McNinch and husband, Leon, of Alice, Debby Gilliam and husband, Gary, of Midland, and Sally Red and husband, Lyle, of Fairfield; one brother, Gerald Johnson of Snyder; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady, two brothers, one sister, and granddaughter Kimberly Williams.
A visitation was held Saturday, February 15, in Kingsland.
The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude for the love and care from the staff at Kingsley Place and VistaCare Hospice Foundation of San Antonio. Memorial contributions may be made to VistaCare.

Clyde William Ham, Sr.
Clyde William Ham, Sr., our very dear and special husband and father, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2003, in Austin after numerous health complications.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, at Graham Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde William Ham, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Little Saline cemetery. Pallbearers were Doug Parks, Jr., Ben Keillor, Matt Keillor, Hubert D'Spain, Sam D’Spain and Woody Woodard.
Clyde was born on December 25, 1920, in Gardendale, to Horace William Ham and Rosa Ethel Gates Ham. He graduated from high school in Charlotte, in 1934. In November of 1941, Clyde enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in World War II as a Boatswain’s Mate, Second Class, and was honorably discharged in September of 1945.
Following the war, Clyde earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and had a long career as a professional engineer in the petroleum industry in Corpus Christi. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Mildred, lived in Ingleside, for seventeen years where he loved to work in his vegetable garden and pecan and fruit tree orchard, They moved to Austin in the spring of 2000 where they lived with their daughter, Deborah.
Mr. Ham was preceded in death by his parents and also a sister, Evelyn Ham Parker. Survivors include his wife of more than 54 years, Mildred Ham of Austin; two sons, Vance Ham and wife, Deborah, of Houston and Clyde William Ham, Jr. and wife, Janice, of Shawnee, Kansas; two daughters, Deborah Ham of Austin and Brenda Ham Keillor and husband, Pete, of Midland, Michigan; two step-daughters, Mary Pedigo and husband, Al, of Pasadena and Joyce Parks of Baytown; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Darlene Pilkington
Darlene Pilkington was born in Junction on March 8, 1938, to Glen and Ethel Conner. On Friday, March 7, 2003, Darlene went to be with the Lord and to join her loved ones who passed before her, including her parents; her son, Rocky Pilkington; her sister, Billy Jean Floyd and two brothers, Edward Conner and Felton Conner.
Mrs. Pilkington is survived by her sons, Bobby Pilkington, and wife, Donna, of Christoval, and Monty Pilkington of Florida; a daughter, Teresa Anderson and special friend, Vaughn Chatham, of San Angelo; two brothers, Melvin Conner and wife, Joselyn, and Cecil Conner and wife, Donleta, all of Junction; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, loving friends Billy Joe and Ethel Pilkington of Eldorado and Becky Johnson of Junction; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Graham Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Riley officiating. Burial followed in the Junction cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnny Martin, Jamie Cleveland, Cecil Martin Conner, Melvin Glen Conner, Rocky Sexton and Travis Powers.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Holly Hannis Fillmore
Holly Hannis Fillmore, 54, of Wichita Falls, died Thursday, February 27, 2003, in Wichita Falls.
Services were held Saturday, March 1, at the First Baptist Church in Olney with the Rev. Cliff Sims, pastor, officiating. Interment icon was in the Restland cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fillmore was born November 30, 1948, in Olney, to Will Morriss and Bettye Hannis. She and Paul Harris Fillmore, III were married November 18, 1972, in Weatherford. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1988.
She attended Baylor University, the University of Texas at Austin, and received a degree in Mass Communications and Special Education at Midwestern State University. She was a Special Education teacher at Zundy Junior High School in Wichita Falls.
She moved to Wichita Falls in 1998 from Olney and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olney.
She was a granddaughter of the late Clay and Ara Holland of Kimble County.
Survivors include one son, Paul Harris Fillmore, IV of Fort Worth; two daughters, Holly Shannon Rankin of West, and Alyssa Beth Fillmore of Wichita Falls; her parents, Will Morriss and Bettye Hannis and one brother, Bill Hannis, all of Olney; and five grandchildren, Jordan and Carmeron Fillmore, Zoe, Zachary and Zadie Rankin.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, 76308, or the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 734, Olney, 76374.

Jerry "Skipper" Keith
Jerry "Skipper" Keith of Brady went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2003, in Brady at the age of 58. The family received visitors Saturday, March 8, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. The services were Sunday, March 9, at the First United Methodist Church.
Skipper was born on October 6, 1944, to Thomas and Marguarite (Cuckler) Westbrook in McAllister, Oklahoma. She married Carl Keith on July 11, 1961, in Mason and together the couple had two children, Karen and Chad. Skipper was a rural mail carrier for many years and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also the president of the Lydia UMW Circle, member of the Emmaus Community, a wonderful grandmother, (Grammy), mother, and wife, and loved to travel and garden. Survivors include her husband, Carl, of Brady; daughter, Karen Jacoby and husband, William, of Ponder; a son, Chad Keith and wife, Connie, of Fredericksburg; a sister, Barbara Rodgers and husband, George, of East Sweden; a brother, John C. Westbrook of San Saba, two granddaughters, Jacie and Kristen Keith of Fredericksburg; many nieces and nephews; all the Farm Bureau family, and her friends at the post office and on her postal route. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jimmy Westbrook and Dick Westbrook, and one sister, Mary Lee West.
The family would like to acknowledge all the "kids" who were so special to her. She opened her heart and her home and loved them as her own. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Bernice Cobb
Bernice Cobb, 91, passed away Monday, April 14, 2003, in the Kimble Hospital in Junction. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Morris Cook of the First Baptist Church, was Wednesday, April 16, at the Fife Funeral chapel with burial afterward in the Junction City cemetery.
Bernice was the last surviving member of ten children of the late Ollie and Irene Cobb family who moved to Kimble County in 1898. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret Cobb Hull, Lola Cobb Ramage, Lida Cobb, Edna Cobb Reynolds and Lillian Cobb Hyde; and brothers, Bryan Cobb, O.H. “Wolf” Cobb, Robert Cobb and Ben Cobb.
Bernice lived her entire life on the family ranch in eastern Kimble County except for a brief period during World War II, and the last year and four months in the Hill Country Care Center in Junction. She was a member of the Harper Baptist Church.
She is survived by ten nieces and nephews, many cousins and many friends.
Active pallbearers were Richard Foster, Greer Kothmann, Kelly Kothmann, Buz Hull, Gary Lewis and V.C. Whitworth. Honorary pallbearers were Dude Beasley Jarvis, Lewis Ferguson and Brother Sam Coffey.

Jack Munn
Jack Munn, 87, of Odessa, died April 16, 2003, in Odessa. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19, in Odessa.
Jack was born September 26, 1915, in Eastland County, and on May 8, 1937, he married Carrie Ruth Conner in Midland.
He is survived by his wife of Odessa and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is survived locally by nephews, Melvin and Cecil Conner.

Donna Jean Chapman
Donna Jean Chapman of Harrison, MI, formerly of Marion, MI., died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at her home. She was 69 years old.
She was born on January 12, 1934, in Middle Branch Township to Vern and Bernadine M. (Austin) Williams. She graduated from Marion High School in 1952. She married James Chapman on December 31, 1983, in Marion.
Donna was a loving mother and homemaker. She was employed as a lunchroom aid at Marion High School for several years. She was an avid snowmobiler. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #6015 in Marion, the Women of the Moose #2235 of Harrison, and the Harrison Snow Riders Snowmobile Club. Her hobbies included quilting, playing music, flower gardens, and family dinners. She liked country music, dancing, flowers, and traveling. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and extrodinary grandmother whose life revolved around her grandchildren. Donna had a great enthusiasm for life and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, James Chapman; her mother, Bernadine M. Williams of Marion; three children, Gregg Gardner and wife, Denise, of El Paso, Eric Gardner and wife, Davi, of Grant, MI, and Joy Danae Gardner of Paris, MI; two step-sons, Bill Chapman and wife, Nancy, and Bob Chapman and wife, MarLea, all of Junction; three sisters, Patty Michell and husband, Max, of Marion, Verna Warner and husband, Bernard, of Farwell, and Linda Baughan and husband, Lonnie, of Marion; as well as 21 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and 33 neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vern, and her first husband, Carleton L. Gardner.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 11, at the Fosnaught Funeral Home in Marion, with Pastor Lyle Criscuolo officiating. Burial was at the Middle Branch Township cemetery.
