August 13, 1919 - April 18, 2015
Farwell, Texas

Nola Fern Bethel, age 95, (née Holsenbeck) passed away on April 18, 2015 in Farwell, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Moore Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada.

Fern was born August 13, 1919 in County Line, Texas. She was a longtime faithful member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her son, Royce Bethel; and her husband A.V. Bethel.

She is survived by two children; daughter, Sue Shelton of Clovis, New Mexico; son, Rogene Bethel of Arlington, Texas; daughter-in-law, Jamye Bethel of Farwell, Texas; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Abelino Luna
November 10, 1947 - March 16, 2015
Lockney, Texas

Abelino Luna Sr., age 67, of Lockney, passed away, Monday, March 16, 2015 in Lockney. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Lockney. Interment icon will follow at the Lockney cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2015 at Primera Iglesia Bautista from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., and 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2015 at Moore Rose Funeral Home in Lockney. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.

Abelino Luna, Sr. was born in Hondo, Texas to Hilberto and Theresa (Rendon) Luna on November 10, 1947. He married the love of his life Rosalinda (Granados) Luna on October 9, 1966. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage. Abelino was a strong man of faith and had a deep love for God. He enjoyed spending time with family, going to church and praising God, landscaping and recycling metal. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by parents; Hilberto and Theresa Luna, a son, Natividad Luna, a brother, Natividad Luna, two sisters; Olga Fierros and Maria Cuevas, and a son-in-law; Esteban Guerra Jr.

He is survived by his wife of the home, Rosalinda Luna, two sons; Abelino Luna, Jr. of Lockney, Gerardo Luna of Lockney, three daughters; Emma Luna of South Carolina, Elida Guerra of Lockney, Erma Luna of Lockney, three brothers; Richard Luna, Hilberto Luna, Jr., Ernest Luna, six sisters; Adelaida Sanchez, Maria Sanchez, Elena Sanchez, AltaGracia Mendoza, Linda Silva, and Lidia Barrera, 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Dolly Emert
August 27, 1928 - January 23, 2015
Floydada, Texas

Dolly Emert, age 86, of Floydada, passed away, Friday, January 23, 2015. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Floydada with Ken Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Dolly was born August 27, 1928 to J.W. and Annie Laura (Brown) Graham in Dougherty. Dolly better known as "Janny" loved to cook and sew for her family and friends. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a homemaker and worked for FISD Cafeteria Food Divison from 1979-1998. She was a fantastic cook and was well known for her "Janny" beans, chocolate pie and back rubs. Dolly was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Floydada.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert Lee Emert in 1999.

Dolly is survived by 3 children; son, Roger Emert and wife Dianne, of Floydada, daughter, Carolyn Green and husband Don Green of Floydada, son, Steve Emert of Floydada, granddaughter Mandy Curry and husband Chris Curry of Midland, grandson Robby Green and wife Sherre Green of Floydada, grandson, Chad Green of Floydada, grandson, Scott Emert and wife Amanda Emert of Lubbock, grandson, Zach Emert and wife Jennifer of Floydada, great grand-daughter, Lilly Curry of Midland, Texas, great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Trevor Green of Floydada, great grandson, Jaden Green of Floydada. Dolly is also survived by one sister, Carmen Starkey of Floydada, brothers Wendell Graham and wife Patsy of Floydada and Morris Graham of Lubbock and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Dolly's name to the Floydada Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 573, Floydada, Texas 79235.

Cynthia Ford
November 13, 1956 - October 8, 2014
Lockney, Texas

Cynthia Lucille Ford, passed away, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Lockney United Methodist Church. Family will receive visitors Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 901 Lavada in Lockney. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

She was born November 13, 1956 in Dimmitt, TX. Cindy graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1975 and from Texas Tech University in 1979. She began her teaching career in Lockney, TX in the fall of 1979, and she retired from that school district after 32 years of service. She was an active member of Lockney United Methodist Church, the Lockney Booster Club, and many other school activities. She married Bernie Ford of Lockney on August 16, 1980. Cindy and Bernie had two children, Jenna and Mark, who she enjoyed immensely all of her life. They blessed her with three grandchildren.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Bernie Ford, of Lockney, daughter Jenna Heflin and her husband, Ty, of Floydada, TX and son, Mark Ford and his wife Jamie, of Magnolia, TX, two granddaughters, Briley Heflin and Kate Ford, and one grandson, Brantley Heflin, and her mother, Carol Dyer of Lubbock. Other survivors include three sisters, Ruth Bennett of Lubbock and her husband Harold Bob Bennett, Diane Sanders of Dimmitt, and Lori Wilhite and her husband, Robert, of Canyon, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Goldman Dyer, a brother, Richard Dyer, and brother in law, Joe Bob Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, the family request a memorial be given in Cindy's honor to Lockney United Methodist Church or your favorite charitable organization.

Dona Reed
September 30, 1928 - January 29, 2015
Floydada, Texas

Dona Reed, age 86, of Floydada, passed away, Thursday, January 29, 2015. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Dona was born on September 30, 1928 to Theodore "Jack"and Edith (Watson) Thompson in Hopkins County, Texas. She pursued her passion as an LVN for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking for her family, gardening, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Dona was an active member of the City Park Church of Christ.
Dona was preceded in death by her husband; Gene Reed, her parents, a brother and a sister.
Dona is survived by her sons; Kendall Reed and wife Bev Ann of Hutchinson, Kansas, Kerry Reed and wife Sue of Floydada; her grandchildren; Andrea Johnson and husband Craig of Lubbock, Kenny Reed and wife Melissa of Lubbock, and Jason Reed of Floydada; and five great grandchildren.

Joyce Ruth Wilson
November 18, 1931 - February 1, 2015
Fort Worth, Texas

Joyce Carthel Wilson, age 83, stepped into heaven Sunday, February 1, 2015 at her daughter Lesa's home in Argyle, TX. Services will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at West College and 3rd Church of Christ in Lockney with Steve McClean officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

Joyce was born on November 18, 1931 to John Thomas Carthel and Lula Ruth (Copeland) Carthel. She was born and raised near Lockney and attended Texas Tech University, where she received a bachelor's degree in music education. During college, she met and married Charles E. (Chuck) Wilson, Jr. and over the next few years had three daughters, Lesa, Melinda and Ruth Elaine. Together, Chuck and Joyce operated Wilson Photography for nearly four decades, and were an important part of the Lockney community and the surrounding area. Joyce also loved gardening and regularly supplied bouquets for church services for her beloved church family at West College and 3rd.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, infant sons David and Michael, her parents, John T and Ruth Carthel and special nephews Lee Carthel and Brandt Leondar.

She is survived by her daughter Lesa Bledsoe and husband John of Argyle, TX, and their children Nancy, Wilson and Jack, her daughter Melinda Thompson and husband Jeff of Mineral Wells, TX, and their children, Amber, Brandon and wife Corey, Chase, wife Shannon, and son Reid, Danesa DeLong, husband Zach, and daughter Eloise, and her daughter Ruth Elaine Molina and husband Hector of Carrollton, TX and their children Sabrina and J.T.

Adrian Littleton West
May 22, 1922 - October 18, 2014
Floydada, Texas

Adrian Littleton West, age 92, of Floydada, passed away, Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Lubbock. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Floydada with Jack Elliott and Ronnie Hedges officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakeview cemetery in Floyd County. Visitation will be Monday prior to service. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

James Minter
January 15, 1941 - July 8, 2015
Lockney, Texas

James E. Minter, age 74, of Lockney, passed away, Wenesday, July 8, 2015. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Lockney cemetery with Earl McDonough officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.

Jimmy was born in Walters, Oklahoma, January 15, 1941, to Earl Wayne and Bette Jean (Jones) Minter but wherever he lived he remained a proud Okie. James and his family moved to Lockney in 1952 and when he graduated Lockney High School in 1959 he promptly joined the Army as a 17 year old. He was proud of his service and retired as a Sergeant First Class in 1980. He taught Army ROTC in high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for 14 years and another year at San Marcos Baptist Academy. He reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Pricilla Carthel, and they were married in Lockney, June 21, 1997. He and Pricilla moved back to Lockney in 2001 and he was a Deputy Sheriff in Lubbock and Hale Counties.

James is survived by his wife, Pricilla of the home, two daughters, Jamie Nelson and her husband, David of Columbia, MO; and Tracy Tippy and spouse John of Morgans Point Resort, Texas, and two grandsons, Travis and Blake Nelson. Also surviving are his step daughters Shelia Laing and husband, Jeff of Corpus Christi, Shawn Harlos of San Antonio, and Shelly Purselley and husband Gary also of Corpus Christi. His step grandchildren are Danielle Harlos, Clayton Laing, Lauren Laing, Desiree Harlos, Kelsey Purselley, Tyler Purselley and Elyssa Laing. Jimmy's sisters Marcia Duerksen of Lubbock and Marta Gay Hardin of Plainview also survive.

The family suggests that memorial gifts be made in Jimmy's name to the American Cancer Society, 3411 73rd Street, Lubbock, Texas 79423.
