WHITMIRE

Zonie Belle Whitmire, age 80 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006. She was born in Fostoria, Texas on December 7, 1925 to Oscar E. and Melissie Hoy.

She is survived by her daughters, Lucy Jane Whitmire, Barbara W. Ford; sons, W.J. Whitmire, Jr. and wife, Linda, Larry G. Whitmire and wife, Tiffany, Jerry Lee Whitmire and wife, Yvette, Robert H. Whitmire; grandchildren, Lisa M. Whitmire, Brian Whitmire, Justin Whitmire, Jonathan Loving, Brittany Whitmire, Cody Whitmire; nephew, Oscar Cooper; nieces, Anna Morrison, Betty Luckey, Dilene Logan and many great-nieces, great-nephews and other cherished family members and caring friends.

Bro. Krimbrough conducted funeral services held Thursday, May 4, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Montague Cemetery.

STORY

Gladys E. Waldrep Story, age 80 of Channelview, Texas, passed away, Monday, May 1, 2006. She was born in Hortense, Texas on November 4, 1925 to Gus and Bessie Waldrep.

Pastor McKnight conducted funeral services held Thursday, May 4, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.

WILLIAMS

Mary Anne Youngblood Williams, 57, of Dayton, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at the Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2006, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Dayton with burial following at the Holland Cemetery in Kountze. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm, with wake services 6:30 pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mary was born June 13, 1948 in Beaumont, to parents; Byron and Kathrine Aquilina Youngblood, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past seven years. She was a graduate of the South Park High School class of 1966, had attended the Houston Community College, former Customer Service Manager for Garlands Grocery in Houston, member of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and Alter Guild, and enjoyed church activities, crocheting, and other arts and crafts.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband of 28 years: Lewis Williams of Dayton, son: Jason Youngblood of Port Neches, sister: Martha Mannino of Nederland, nephew: Steve Mannino of Sugarland, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Massey

Louise Massey, 72, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, May 5, 2006. She was born in Anderson County, Texas to Corbett and Fannie Webb on July 17, 1933.

She is survived by her children, Carla Ann Wentworth and husband Christopher, Cynthia Dianne Pickering and husband Paul, James Wayne Wilbanks and wife Debbie, Russell Kim Massey; grandchildren, Lawayne, Blake, Jessica, Vanessa, Debora, Derrick, Chase, Jessica, James, Shelby; seven great grandchildren; brother, Reagon Webb and wife, Ruby.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 8, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Melvin Holifield conducted the service with interment at Morgan Cemetery, Splendora, Texas.

Fredenburg

Naomi G. Fredenburg, 83, of Liberty, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 in Houston, Texas. She was born January 6, 1923 in Oklahoma to parents George C. and Ora Hanley Hughes. Mrs. Fredenburg had lived in the Liberty area for over 37 years and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. She was a beautician for many years and had been in the Funnel Cake business.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Liberty Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mrs. Fredenburg was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years, Moody Lee Fredenburg, Sr. She is survived by her sons: Moody Lee Fredenburg, Jr. and wife Marsh of LaMarque, Pete Fredenburg and wife Karen of Belton; her daughters: Debbie Hanagriff and husband Walter of Crystal Beach and Pam Dowell of Liberty; Eleven Grandchildren and Nineteen Great-grandchildren; Sisters: Nora of Lubbock, Rachael Alburtis and husband Sonny of San Angelo, Nelma Harrington and husband Al of Georgetown; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Fredenburg will be Monday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton.

Riffle

Rollin Clinton Riffle, Jr., 55, of Dayton, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 in Baytown, Texas. He was born September 3, 1950 in Heneritta, Oklahoma to parents W.E. and Mary Lee Keith Ingram.

He graduated from High School in Salinas, California, worked in transportation as a truck driver, loved fishing, camping, and outdoors. He had been a resident of Dayton for the past 10 years.

Mr. Riffle was preceded in death by his mother; two sisters: Dianna Ingram Haasl and Darlena Sue Baker. He is survived by his wife: Shelia Riffle of Dayton; sons: Rollin Riffle and Clinton Riffle both of Dayton; daughter: Marella Harper and husband Richard of Dayton; sister: Carlene Contreas of Modesto, California; five grandchildren and his special friend, his dog Brandy Riffle.

Arrangements were under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.

LEWIS

Alvis H. “Buddy” Lewis, Sr., passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006. He was born on June 17, 1939 to Archie and Ellen Lewis in Fairfield, Texas. He retired from IBEW 716.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Lewis; 5 children, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, and 1 sister.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 14, 2006, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home 14250 Hwy 150 West, Coldspring, TX. Services will be held at the Pace-Stancil Chapel on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with 3:00 p.m. graveside services at Brookside Cemetery, Houston, TX.

DURR

Melvin M. Durr, 76, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eloise. Mel survived by son, Michael Durr and wife, Deborah and granddaughter, Juli Kolenovsky. He is also survived by his wife of six months, Pamela and her two children, Jorge and Jasmine. Mel was a retired employee of the Texas Department of Corrections in Huntsville. Prior to joining TDC, Mel worked for many years for several oilfield equipment companies in Houston. He was also a former State Patrolman in Nebraska.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2006, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held Thursday, May 11, 2006, 11:00 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 702 E. Houston, Cleveland, Texas.

STEPHENS

Malinda Caroline Stephens of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the age of 93. She was born on May 6, 1913 in Edna, Texas to Ferdinand Joseph and Wilhelminna Caroline Schneider.

She is survived by her children, Patricia and Michael Dach of Houston, TX, Linda Carol Yazell of Soquel, CA, John Stephens of Everett, WA, Homer Stephens of Cleveland, TX; siblings, Dora Deyo Caddo of Mills, TX, Walter Schneider of Midland, TX, seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and caring friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 11, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery.
