BRUDNICKI

Baby Alishah Kaylnn Brudnicki, born to Bert and Jamie Brudnicki, left the world on August 8, 2006. Graveside services will be held Sunday, August 13, 2006 5:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens “Baby Land”.

RICE

Franklin David Rice, Sr. of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the age of 69. He was born in Mendvill, PA on November 5, 1936 to Harry Albert and Mary Martha Rice.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 12, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Pin Oak Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. George Hayden conducted the service with interment at Red Rock Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Rice, daughters, Tina Tapp and husband, James, Cindy Mantley and husband, Carl, Sharon Parkman and husband, Jim; sons, Robert Rice and wife, Darlene, Jim Rice and wife, Becky, Franklin Rice and wife, Brenda and Chris Rice and wife, Carsissa; sister, Harriet Reeves; brother, Charles Albert Rice and wife, Gayle; eleven grandsons, 6 granddaughters, thirteen grandchildren, two nephews, one niece.

RUNNELS

Ever May Runnels, born in Diboll, Texas on May 1, 1900, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the age of 106. Graveside services were held Friday, August 11, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Deadwood Methodist Cemetery, Deadwood, Texas.

CLEAVER

Mildred Cleaver, 80, of Dayton, died Thursday morning, August 10, 2006, at home after an extended illness. She was born August 22, 1925 in Combine, Texas to parents, William and Lula Wheat Rubile. She was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Cleaver enjoyed Bingo, collecting Betty Boop items, enjoyed country western music and liked to go to the “Boat” in Louisiana.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 13, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Schultz officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.Mrs.

Cleaver was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Adilou Mendel, and aunt, Ira Fields.She is survived by her son, James W. Montgomery of Dayton; daughters, Caroleen Hammons of The Woodlands, Paula Caudill and husband, Walt of Pasadena, Jamie Meekins of Cypress, Joi Shaver of Dayton, and Rebecca Lou Patton and husband, Buddy of Dayton; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie Rubile and wife Shirley of Santa Fe; sisters, Doll Corley and husband, Roy of Spring, Betty Jean Landry of Hull; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday evening, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.

BARNETT

Ricky Joe Barnett, 43, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away August 10, 2006. Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

TEW

Teresa Lynn Tew, 45, of Camilla, Texas, passed away August 10, 2006. Arrangements were made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

WATSON

Louella “Lou” Lee Watson, 95, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away August 14, 2006. She was born on August 11, 1918 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Ralph R. and Virginia McPheeters.

She is survived by four grandchildren with countless great and great-great-grandchildren, many senior friends in the Cleveland and Tarkington communities along with her church family of Rural Shade Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 19, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Dr. Byron Reeves conducted the service with interment at Cleveland, Memorial Park Cemetery.

SCHNEIDER

Charles Allen Schneider, 46, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away August 14, 2006. Funeral services were held August 17, 2005, 4:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery.

Najera

Rebecca M. “Beckie” Najera, RN, MSN, CNM, 52, of Dayton, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at the Northeast Medical Center in Humble.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Beckie was born November 20, 1953 in Amarillo, to parents; Gerald and Betty Jean Woods Ford, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 17 years.

She was a graduate of the Madison High School class of 1971, and received her Certificate of Technology, Licensed Vocational Nurse Degree from San Jacinto College in 1994, Bachelor of Science, Nursing Degree from Texas Women’s University, College of Nursing in 1999, Master of Nursing Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch and Certification as a Nurse Midwife in 2002, licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in 2003, and granted Prescriptive Privileges in 2004. She held memberships in the American College of Nurse Midwives, Consortium of Texas Certified Nurse Midwives, Galveston County Advanced Practice Nurse Association, International Childbirth Educators Association, Sigma Thera Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Texas Students Nurses Association, UTMB Student Nurse Midwives Organization, Vocational Nursing Club, Women’s Healthcare Network, Girl Scouts of America, San Jacinto Council, UTMB Student Nurse Midwives Organization’s Boxes for Babies Project 2001.

She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Najera was preceded in death by her father: Gerald Ford, mother: Betty J. Woods Ford, and brother: George Kirby. She is survived by her husband of 26 years: Ronald L. “Ron” Najera of Dayton, daughters: Veronica L. Najera, Nicole N. Najera, and Victoria K. Najera all of Dayton, grandchildren: Aspen Lee~Monet Najera-Griffin and Ayden Ashton Merino, sisters: Salena Morris of Houston, Kandy Sewell of Houston, Loretta Nelson of Charlestown, RI, and Patti Summerville of Eureka Springs, AR, brother: Patrick Kirby of Austin, step-mother: LaVerne Ford of Eureka Springs, AR, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

SWARTZ

Steven Alan Swartz, Sr. 36, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away, August 17, 2006. He was born in Humble, Texas on April 22, 1970. Arrangements were made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

JONES

Arnett Jones, Jr. was born in Point Blank, Texas on January 3, 1920. Lived on the same old family place, near Darby Hill, his entire 86 years. He passed away August 17, 2006.

He served in the Army during WWII as Communication Expert performing duties as Wire Corporal.

He earned the bronze star medal installing and maintaining communication lines under enemy fire.

He enjoyed life, especially using his famous lawn mower around his house and pasture. You just had to see the mower, because it is a "Jones Original", held together with the necessities; wire, string, and duct tape. Piddling around the house, mowing grass and poisoning thorn bushes took up a lot of his time.

His beloved wife, Ellen Kelly "Mutt" Jones passed away in 1997 and he missed her everyday. He was unique ... what you saw is what you got. He was a very proud and private man. He loved to share old stories and history of surrounding areas and he could tell a lot of them too.

Arnett is survived by his daughters, Sue Walker and husband, Phillip, Lucy England and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Phyllis Walker Wilkins, Peggy Walker Stump, and Alan Walker, Cayl England and wife, Cheryl, Bricia Glovan, Kimmy Middleton and husband, Bobby; great-grandchildren, Nate England, Caylah England, Bailee England, Austin Angel, Eric Glovan, A.J. Glovan, Kayleigh Middleton and nine great-grandchildren of Sue and Phillip Walker; three great-great-grandchildren; special nephew, George Mann; close friends, Lloyd Bryant and Doris Blanks Hudgins and many cousins and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucy Groom Jones and Arnett Jones, Sr. and grandson, Norman Walker.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 21, 2006, Paul Horton Methodist Church, Stephens Creek, Texas. Pallbearers, Herman Walker, William Walker, Russell Smith, Jimmy Capers, Frank Black, and Curtis Johnson, all guided Arnett Jones, Jr. to his final resting place at Foster Cemetery, Point Blank, Texas.
