Brinser

Chu Brinser, age 76 on August 16, 1931, of Tarkington Prairie, Texas, passed away, Tuesday at the Woodland Memorial Hermann October 16, 2007. Her family originated in Central China, The Kiangsu Province. Her father was killed during the China’s war with Japan and her mother raised the children and cared for the grandparents and other family members. She is preceded in death by her father, Wei-Ching Shiah; mother, Chu-Shen Shiah; and her loving husband, Amos Albert Brinser.

Survivors include daughters, Connie Chu Lehnen and husband, James Joseph, Sue Hsia Taylor and husband, Kenneth Charles; son, Amos William Brinser and fiancé, Tracy Mize; sisters, Chan Zhu (living in China), Chan Hsia Yeh (living in New York), Hsia Zy Jou (living in Massachusetts); brothers, Liang Hsia (living in California), Guang Hsia (living in Taiwan), Paul Shiah (living in Philadelphia); grandchildren, Erin Rae Tanner and husband, Daniel Keith, Alison Chu Krawacki, Jamie Nicole Lehnen, Kyle James Lehnen, Christopher David Brinser, Nicholas William Brinser, Derek Alan Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews, and many other family members and countless friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 19, 2007, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Robert Brown will conduct funeral services 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, with interment immediately following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.

Daniels

Richard D. “Rick” Daniels, Jr., 49, of Dayton died Thursday, October 18, 2007 in Houston. He was born January 4, 1958 in Texarkana, Texas to parents: Richard Daniels, Sr. and Ailene Buford Daniels. He had lived in the Dayton area for the past 12 years, previously of Dallas. He was previously employed by Hunt Co. in Pasadena as a forklift operator. Rick enjoyed fishing, boxing, and martial arts. He was a member of the Baytown Revival Center.

Services for Mr. Daniels will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his father: Richard D. Daniels, Sr. and is survived by his wife Murlene Jordan Daniels of Dayton; his sons: Richard Dakota Daniels of Dayton, Johnny Knight of Baytown, Leo Knight of Alvin, and Chad Allen Daniels of Bonham; his daughters: Michelle Alexander of Baytown, April Lynn Young of Old River, Jessica Daniels of Bonham, Patricia Lynn Daniels of Bonham, Dosha Daniels of Bonham; his mother: Ailene Fields of McKinney; thirteen grandchildren; also numerous other family member and a host of friends.

Smith

Hazel D. Nelson Smith, 93, of Beaumont died Monday, October 22, 2007 peacefully at her residence. She was born February 11, 1914 in Dayton, Texas to parents, Carl D. and Anna K. Seaberg Nelson and graduated from Dayton High School in 1931. She was a resident of High Island for over 50 years, a member of the High Island ISD PTA, worked as tax collector for the High Island ISD, and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winnie where she was active in the choir. Mrs. Smith enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers especially her roses, the piano, playing dominos, and canasta.

Services for Mrs. Smith will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with interment to follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at the Funeral Home.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband: Louis J. Smith; her grandsons: Lanny McBride, Jr., and Danny Smith, Jr. and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter: Judy Meaux of Beaumont; her sons: Donny Smith and wife Velma of Groves, and Marvin Smith and wife Penny of Winnie; her brothers: James Nelson and Silas Nelson both of Dayton; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 6 great great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Taff

Dr. Willeford Norris Taff, age 81, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, October 22, 2007. Dr. Taff was born in Gilmer, Texas on March 21, 1926 to Herbert S. and Fay Taff who preceded him in death.

Visitation begins Tuesday, October 23, 2007, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Westside Church of Christ, Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Jane Taff; daughters, Brenda Taff Gardner, Janie Taff Prather, Allison A. Taff; sons, Norris Taff, Jr. and Michael S. Taff; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his Aunt Alta Helms and so many other cherished family members and friends.

Boudreaux-McKnight

Lacey S. Boudreaux-McKnight, 18, of Huffman, died Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Dayton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Dayton with private family interment following. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Lacey was born February 14, 1989 in Humble to parents; Mike Boudreaux and Sherri Dawn McKnight, a former resident of Dayton, and has resided in the Huffman area for the past three years. She was a leasing agent for Fair Lake Crossing in Huffman, graduate of the Marque Christian Academy class of 2007, and enjoyed photography, dancing, and spending time with her friends.

Miss McKnight was preceded in death by her grandparents: W. C. Averitt, Elvina Corrick, and Robert W. Matthieu, great-grandmother: Emma Gene McKnight, aunt: Sandra Fish, and cousin: Carolyn Stentz. She is survived by her mother: Dawn Young and fiancé Jim Maxwell of Huffman, father: Mike Boudreaux and wife Tammy of Cypress, brothers and sisters: Jacob Thompson of Shreveport, LA, Breeanna Thompson of Cypress, Dalton Boudreaux of Montgomery, Lyndsi Woods of Huffman, Kristin Maxwell of Huffman, Drew Maxwell of Huffman, Michaela Boudreaux of Cypress, Mason Boudreaux of Cypress, and Graci Young of Huffman, grandparents: Sherry Matthieu of Huffman, Luanne Kopecky and husband Larry of Houston, Benny McKnight of North Shore, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mizell

Patricia Ann Mizell, 60, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2007. She was born in Cleveland, Texas on April 28, 1947 to Joe Samuel and Dora Angeline Stephens who preceded her in death along with her granddaughter, and brother. Survivors include he loving husband, Arthur Mizell; daughters, Tamera Richardson, Jerilynn Smith; grandchildren, Robin Richardson, Stephen Smith, Ricky Owens; sister, Dorothy Moore; brother, Jerry Stephens; with numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving and caring family members and cherished friends. Memorial service will be held Friday, November 2, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at North Cleveland Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas

Przyborski

Dennis George Przyborski of Somerville, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the age of 76. He was born in Latium, Texas on November 11, 1930.

He is survived by daughters, Kathy Hollas and husband Robert, Pamela Ray and Patricia Blackmon; grandchildren, Wesley, Matthew, Katie, Wendy, Monica, Laura and Angela; and 11 great grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, October 30, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church Cleveland, Texas with interment at Forest Hills Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

Hawthorne

Edna Hawthorne, 95, of Shepherd, Texas, pass away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. She was born in Shepherd, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Shepherd born on July 8, 1912. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey Arthur Hawthorne; daughter Clara Eloise Hawthorne, grandson, Harvey Edward Hawthorne, Jr.; sisters, Elvie Viola Reeves, Alice Gertude Hood, Mattie Irene Beene, Mary Agnes Hawthorne, Vera Mae Sammons; brothers, Charlie Monroe Taylor, Robert Hardin Taylor, Joe Hubert Taylor.

Survivors include her son, Harvey Edward Hawthorne, Sr. and wife, Faye; grandchildren, Donald Gwen Hawthorne and wife, Glinda Yvonnne, Carla Renee Hoard and husband, Carol Denise; great-grandchildren, Holly Renee Harrison and husband, Jason Warron, Erin Yvonne Goad and husband, Roy Dean, II, Scott Allen Hoard, Brandi Leann Hoard, great-great-grandchild, Ally Nicole Fountain; her loving caregivers, Kathy Booker, Geneva Goodwin; numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and a host of friends beyond measure.

Visitation will be held Friday, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., November 2, 2007 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at Church of Christ, Shepherd, Texas with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.

Martin

William Carlos “W.C.” Martin, 65, of Dayton, died Wednesday, November 29, 2007, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at a later date in Selma, AL. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

W.C. was born October 21, 1942 in Lamison, AL, to parents; Carl R. Martin and Irene Dyson, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 25 years. He was a former millwright, and a retired carpenter, veteran of the US Army, and enjoyed woodworking and collecting knives.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father: Carl R. Martin, mother: Irene Dyson Mosley, and brother: Richard G. Martin. He is survived by his daughter: Michelle Folse and husband Dwayne of Des Allemands, LA, son: Brian Martin, five grandchildren: Dakota, Cierra, and Kanyon Folse, and Austin and Tyler Martin, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
