Stoebner
CAMERON – Lloyd F. Stoebner, 76, of Cameron died Monday, Nov. 6 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. James T. Wheeless officiating. Burial followed in the Burlington Cemetery in Burlington.
Mr. Stoebner was born March 28, 1930 in Burlington to Will and Erna (Ohlenbusch) Stoebner. He was a gradaute of Rosebud High School and from the University of Texas in 1957 with a bachelor of arts degree. Mr. Stoebner married Maxine Kohring on June 25, 1955. He served as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He had worked as a manager in the industrial development department of Texas Electrical Service Company for over 35 years. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church of Ben Arnold where he had served as church treasurer. He served as the Burlington Cemetery Association President, Burlington School Reunion President and was a member of the Sons of Herman for over 59 years.
His parents and a brother, Thomas Ray Stoebner preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Kohring Stoebner of Cameron; daughter, Carolyn Weathermon and husband Billy of Brownwood; son, David M. Stoebner of Harbor City, CA; sister, Willie Mae Stoebner of Cameron; niece, Janice Boecker and husband Russell of Austin; nephew, Mark Stoebner and wife Imelda of Austin.

Havins
Dorothy Havins, 67, of Rockdale, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale after a sudden illness.
Friends are invited to join with family members at a reception celebrating her life here on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Patterson Civic Center in Rockdale from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Mrs. Havins, a homemaker, was born Jan. 26, 1939 in Stamford to Jim and Bertha (Lammert) Vasek. She lived most of her young life in Lubbock where she met and married John Havins.
She was a member and past president of the Thursday Reading Club of Rockdale. She also volunteered with the Capitol District of the Texas Federation of Woman’s Clubs.
Mrs. Havins was an avid bridge player and was a member of several bridge clubs, and she loved to work in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bob Vasek.
She is survived by her husband, John Havins of Rockdale; son, John Havins Jr. and wife Janice of Houston; two daughters, Tonya Copeland and husband Scott of Carrollton and Michelle Boyd and husband David of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Whitney, Jake, Rachel Havins, Andrea, Ben, Aaron and Daniel Boyd.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library, or the Thursday Reading Club Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Carole Simank, 6956 N. FM 486, Thorndale, TX 76577.

Sides
Funeral services for Brady Sides, 87, of Rockdale were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Charles Salmon of Forest Grove Christian Church officiating. Interment was in Forest Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Sides died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
He was born May 6, 1919, to Marie Mae Sides in the Forest Grove community.
He married Phyllis Becker on June 26, 1979.
Mr. Sides was retired from the U.S. Army and became a security officer for Woodberry Private School in Virginia.
He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rockdale.
Mr. Sides was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Sides.
Survivors are his wife, Phyllis Sides of Rockdale; a stepson, Peter Gayton Claymore of Fairfax, Virginia; a stepdaughter, Shirley Marie Claymore-Nelson of Marble Falls; an uncle, Marvin Sides of Rockdale; also, four cousins and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Forest Grove Christian Church or Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library.

Fair
Funeral services for Lonnie Fair Jr., 54, of Rockdale will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at Pecan Street Church of Christ in Rockdale.
Mr. Fair died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at his home in Rockdale.
A lifetime Rockdale resident, he was born Sept. 17, 1952, in Rockdale to Lonnie Lee Fair Sr. and Mary Lee Riggins Fair.
Survivors are his wife, Tommie Faye Fair of Rockdale, and his parents, Lonnie Lee Fair Sr. and Mary Lee Fair of Rockdale.

Gjedde
MINERVA – Graveside funeral services for Gerald Wayne (Jerry) Gjedde, 56, of Burleson, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Minerva Cemetery with Charles Denman officiating. Burial was at the Minerva Cemetery.
Mr. Gjedde died in a Fort Worth Hospice on Dec. 22, 2006. He was born Oct. 25, 1950 in Corpus Christi to Bonnelle Hubert Gjedde and the late R. M. Gjedde of Minerva.
He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Arlington and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was recently retired from the Lockheed Corp. in Fort Worth after 30 years of service.
Survivors include wife, Kathy Ehlert Gjedde; daughter and son-in-law, Jera and David Jensen of Fort Worth; daughter, Christa Gjedde of Fort Worth; mother, Bonnelle Gjedde of Burleson; and brother, Fred Gjedde of Fort Worth. Also, two aunts, Doris McCutcheon of Rockdale, Margaret Denman and husband Charles Denman; four uncles, Don Hubert of Rockdale, Charles Hubert and wife Marie of Milano, Jack Hubert and wife Lu of Bryan, and Ralph Hubert and wife Barbara of Cleveland, Texas.

May
CAMERON – Willie Lee May, 82, of Cameron, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 in an auto accident. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cameron with Bro. Earnest Clifton officiating. Interment was held in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.
Mr. May was born May 12, 1924 in Coatopa, Alabama. he was retired from the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Riggan May of Cameron; daughter, Cherrie (Connie) of Killeen; three sons, Edward (Rochelle) May, Leo (Shameria) May and Levi (Monica) May, all of Cameron; five sisters-in-law, Earnestine Clifton, Evelyn Brown, Mary Lee Crawford, Ruby Williams and Minnie Mae Riggins; four brothers-in-law, George Clifton, Clarence Washington, Booker T. Williams and Ninnie Velvet; host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Chris Brown, Ricky Haynes, Michael Smith, Charles Watson, Emory Canady and, Axiavier Campbell.

Vaughn
Memorial services for Genevieve (Jeanne) Josephine Karpien Vaughn, 62, of the Blue community in Lee County will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Emillian Fultyn officiating.
Mrs. Vaughn died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at her home near Blue.
She was born June 26, 1944, in Rome, New York, to Joseph Felix and Genevieve Gratian (Babinski) Karpien.
She married Claude W. Vaughn on April 17, 1999, at Adina Christian Church.
Mrs. Vaughn was an office manager for American Electric Power, working in their legislative affairs office.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lexington.
Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors are her husband, Claude W. Vaughn of the Blue community; two sons, Christipher Ferriola of Round Rock and Nick “Larry” Ferriola of El Paso; a daughter, Diana Castellion of Littleton, Colorado; a brother, Ron Karpien of West Sand Lake, New York; three sisters, Dot Karpien of Argyle, NY, Sandra Yellen of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Linda Foster of Gransevoort, NY; also, five grandchildren, Aaron, Caleb, Owen, Nate and Caitlyn.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78759.
