Dora Lee Clayton

Dora Lee Clayton, 91, died Sunday at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Wayne Oglesby officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Clayton was born in Belzoni, Okla., and attended school in Antlers, Okla. She lived in Shackelford County for 40 years before moving to Abilene from Albany in 968. She attended Scoggins School of Beauty in Albany and was a beautician in Moran and Albany for many years before retiring. She was a member f Eastern Star, Abilene Chapter 30, nd Calvary Baptist Church and was quilting coordinator for Rose Park Seniors. She married James Yates Clayton in Hugo, Okla.; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one brother, Olen J. McKinney of California, two nieces and two nephews.

The family will be at 1702 Rosewood.

Ruth Stinson

Ruth D. Stinson, 87, died Sunday at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Revs. Bob Allen and Chris Diebel officiating. Burial will be in Tuscola Cemetery.

Mrs. Stinson was born in Alanreed, where she attended school. She lived in Winnebago, Ill., for 20 years before moving to Abilene in 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. She married Dan H. Stinson in 1928 in Amarillo; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, John Hartman Stinson of Abilene; two stepbrothers, Ned Craig and Harvey Craig, both of Lubbock; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Peggy King

Peggy M. King, 95, of Abilene died Monday at an Eastland hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wedneday in Elmwood Memorial Park with Rex Boggs officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mrs. King was born in Galena, Kan., and attended school in Pittsburg, Kan. She had lived in Abilene most of her adult life. She was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ. She married E.T. King in 1946 in Breckenridge; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Escue of Eastland; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Sarah Montague Chapman

Sarah Montague Chapman, 82, of Abilene died Sunday at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Langeland Funeral Home Chapel in Kalamazoo, Mich. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Local arrangements were by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mrs. Chapman was born in Mount Forest, Canada, and worked as a cook for Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo for 18 years. She moved to Abilene from Temple in 1989 and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. She married Hugh J. Chapman Sr. in 1942 in Plymouth, Mich.; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Hugh J. Chapman Jr. of Kalamazoo and Thomas E. Chapman of Temecula, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Ann Santos of Abilene and Sarah S. Perez of Arlington; two brothers, James Robertson and Tom Robertson, both of Michigan; two sisters, Rhoda Townsend and Shirley Forinash, both of Michigan; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Baptist Church Building Fund, 3050 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene 79605.

Ruby Elena Winn

Ruby Elena Winn, 101, formerly of Abilene, died Saturday at an Alpine care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 U.S. Hwy. 277 South, with James Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Winn was born near Centerville in Leon County and attended school at Silver Valley in Coleman County. She moved to Abilene from Goldsboro in 1930 and worked for Abilene State School for several years, beginning in the late 1930s. She was a homemaker and a member of Northpark Church of Christ. She married John B. Winn in 1942 in Goldsboro; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Jack Whitley of Alpine; one stepson, J.C. Winn of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Nina Jo Ann Carter of Fort Worth and Doris Minchey of Cleburne; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, 13 stepgrandchildren, 25 stepgreat-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

John Jackson 'Jack' Pattillo

EL PASO - John Jackson "Jack" Pattillo, 57, died Feb. 23 in El Paso.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest in Abilene with the Rev. Scott Mayer officiating, directed by Mission Funeral Home.

Mr. Pattillo was born in Abilene and graduated from Texas Military Institute in 1959. He attended the University of Texas and Hardin-Simmons University. He was a Navy veteran and worked for Texas Instruments in Dallas and Australia.

Survivors include one daughter, Leslie Morgan of Dusseldorf, Germany; one son, Scott Palmer of Plano; two sisters, Patricia Jennings of El Paso and Peggy Beckham of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Eva King

BROWNWOOD - Eva D. King, 75, of Zephyr died Sunday.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Baker officiating. Burial will be in Zephyr Cemetery.

Mrs. King was born in Chickasha, Okla., and had lived in Brown County all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Mercers Gap Baptist Church. She married J.W. King in 1945 in El Paso; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, John King and Billy King, both of Zephyr, and Jimmy King of Brownwood; two daughters, Charlotte Strain of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Linda Hargrove of Abilene; four brothers, Jamey Sims of Kemp, Jody Sims and Hubert Sims, both of Arlington, and Bobby Sims of Fort Worth; four sisters, Virginia Cox of Salem, Ore., Billie Jarvis of Waxahachie, Jerri Kuethe of Fabens and Frances Webb of Boswell, Okla.; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. today.

Nancy Hanks Bounds

Nancy Hanks Bounds, 67, died Sunday at a Tulsa hospital after an illness.

A memorial service is pending with Christian-Gavlik Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Okla.

Mrs. Bounds was born in Birmingham, Ala., and graduated from Eaton Village, Ala., High School. She married Charles Bounds in 1955 in Birmingham, Ala.; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Michael Bounds of Abilene; two daughters, Janet Doss and Sandi Deale, both of Broken Arrow; one sister, Beverly Miles of Annapolis, Md.; and five grandchildren.

Mary Frances Bisbee

CLYDE - Mary Frances Bisbee, 81, died Monday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Riley Fugit officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery.

Mrs. Bisbee was born in Scranton and was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Bill Edwin Bisbee in 1936 in Cisco; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Joel Bisbee of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Joyce Morgan of Baird and Janis Miller and Jana Canada, both of Clyde; one brother, John Johnson of Dallas; one sister, Amy Wagley of Cisco; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene 79604-9938.
