Ella Beatrice 'Bea' Green

BROWNWOOD - Ella Beatrice "Bea" Green, 83, of Abilene, died Friday at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Austin Avenue Church of Christ with Dr. David Wallace and Paul Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Mrs. Green was born in Paducah. She was the widow of E.B. Green Jr., whom she married on Sept. 5, 1940, in Lubbock. She had worked as a Bookkeeper for Palace Drug Store and was a member of Austin Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, John Michael Green of Richmond, Va. and Gary Edward Green of McKinney; one daughter, Linda Jo Wallace of Abilene; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Aurora Ramirez

COLEMAN - Aurora Ramirez, 85, died Friday in a San Angelo hospital.

Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Lawrence Cyr officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.

Mrs. Ramirez was born in Coleman. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Guadalupe Society.

Survivors include one son, Reinaldo (Ray) Ramirez of San Angelo; two brothers, Lorenzo Ramirez of Coleman and Julio C. Ramirez of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Durene Boone

HASKELL - Durene Boone, 79, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shane Brue officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery, directed by Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors of Haskell.

Mrs. Boone was born in Haskell and graduated from Weinert High School. She was the widow of Nored Hudson Boone, whom she married on Sept. 14, 1940, in Haskell. She owned and operated "This Old House Antique Store" for 10 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Jo Nored Lane of Haskell; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Avenue F, Haskell, TX 79521.

Ricki Lynn Cummings

WINTERS - Ricki Lynn Cummings, 47, of San Angelo, died Friday at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Lakeview Cemetery with Nelan Bahlman officiating, directed by Winters Funeral Home.

Mr. Cummings was born in San Angelo and lived most of his life in Winters, where he graduated from high school. He graduated from Draughon's Business School in Abilene and worked as an oilfield consultant. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include two daughters, Wendi Cummings and Kimberlie Cummings, both of San Angelo; and several cousins.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Anita Kemp Dense

RANGER - Anita Kemp Dense, 71, formerly of Abilene, died Friday at an Abilene hospital.

A prayer service will be at 6 p.m. today at the Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel in Abilene. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 17, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with the Rev. Desmond Obi officiating.

Mrs. Dense was born in Abilene and had lived in Honolulu, Hawaii. She moved to Ranger in 1993. She was the widow of Lou Dense. She was a homemaker and a member of the Saint Rita Catholic Church in Ranger.

Survivors include one sister, Juanita Kemp Grubbs of Abilene; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Hendrick Hospice Care of Abilene, P.O. Box 1933, Abilene, TX 79604.

Billy Pete Leach

Billy Pete Leach, 69, of Abilene, died Friday at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Paul Vasquez and Roy Shake officiating. Military graveside rites will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mr. Leach was born in Comanche County, where he attended public schools. He moved to Abilene from Odessa in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Mental Health/Mental Retardation and for Christian Homes of Abilene. He married Lois Ewing on September 26, 1954, in Abilene. He was a member of the Minter Lane Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Larry Leach of Abilene; two sisters, Doris Braswell of Justin and Maggie Leach of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Larry Leach Fund, Minter Lane Church of Christ, 2502 Minter Lane, Abilene, TX 79603.

Dorothy Nell Clark

BAIRD - Dorothy Nell Clark, 70, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene with the Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.

Mrs. Clark was born in Merkel and graduated from Merkel High School. She moved to Baird from Abilene in 1975. She was the widow of Robert Vernon "R.V." Clark, whom she married on Oct. 18, 1947, in Merkel. She was a homemaker, and also worked at Shady Oaks Country Club and was a seamstress. She was a member of the Doll Collector Association and Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene. She was a past member of the Baird 48 Study Club.

Survivors include one son, Joe Clark, of Baird; two daughters, Diane Bonnano of Philadelphia, and Cyndy Engel of Abilene; one brother, Robert Lee of Tyler; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Broadview Baptist Church Building Fund, 2500 S. 27th, Abilene, TX 79605.

Elizabeth Dee 'Liz' Garza

COLEMAN - Elizabeth Dee "Liz" Garza, 39, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 17, at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Coleman with the Rev. Paul Matta officiating.

Mrs. Garza was born in Hobbs, N.M., where she attended school. She graduated from Beauty College in Hobbs. She married Mike Garza in Lovington, N.M., in 1973. She had lived in Hobbs, N.M., and Phoenix, Ariz. before moving to Coleman five years ago. She was a hairdresser and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband of Coleman; one daughter, Michelle Eileen Garza of Phoenix, Ariz.; her mother and stepfather, Edna and Earl Wright of Coleman; three sisters, Johnnie Mae Bradford of Carlsbad, N.M., Romie Jeanne Nowlin of Warren, and Paulinda Sue Boyer of Denton; and three grandchildren.

Mary Ione Longbine

CHILDRESS - Mary Ione Longbine, 80, died Thursday.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Childress with Bill Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Estelline Cemetery.

Mrs. Longbine was born in Lockney. She was the widow of James C. "Jake" Longbine, whom she married on November 25, 1936, in Childress. She worked with the Childress County Heritage Museum and was a member of the Estelline Church of Christ.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandy Backus, of Clarksville; three sons, Bennie Doyce Longbine of Merkel, Dan R. Longbine of Childress, and David P. Longbine of Abilene; one brother, Herman Bragg of Iowa Park; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth H. Kline Sr.

BROWNWOOD - Kenneth H. Kline Sr., 78, died Saturday at a local nursing home.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early with the Rev. Mike Riley officiating.

Mr. Kline was born in Emporium, Pa., and moved to Brown County in 1990. He was a Pentecostal and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Kline Jr. of Stephenville and Timothy Kline of Brownwood; three daughters, Lori Osborn of Brownwood, Rachel Riley of Santa Anna, and Megan Kline of Winters; and 12 grandchildren.
