Henry 'Benny' McWilliams
Henry "Benny" McWilliams, 79, died Saturday at his residence in Abilene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Revs. David Verbeck and Mike Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
Mr. McWilliams was born in Dickens County and moved to Abilene in 1954. He married Aldaphyne Spraberry in Dickens County on Feb. 1, 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the First Assembly of God. He owned and operated Texas Refrigeration in Abilene prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; three sons, Charles McWilliams of Houston, and Steve McWilliams and Ben McWilliams, both of Abilene; one daughter, Kay Fangohr of Temple; two brothers, Lawson McWilliams of Spur and Raymond McWilliams of Arkansas; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Evelyn Jean Branch Hopper
Evelyn Jean Branch Hopper, 75, died Monday in a local hospital.
Memorial graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Lyda officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be under the direction of Abilene Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hopper was born in Muskegon, Mich. and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, Mich. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Marie Rossiter of Shelby, Mich. and Nancy Aston of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; four sons, Dan Hopper, Charles Hopper, Randy Hopper, and Rob Hopper, all of Abilene; one brother, Allan Branch of Wyandotte, Mich.; two stepbrothers, Bill Lau of Perrysburg, Ohio and Bob Lau of Lincoln Park, Mich.; 24 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
The family will be at 1414 N. Willis following the service.

Elda Nieto Rodriquez
Elda Nieto Rodriquez, 53, of Abilene, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 North 12th Street. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26, at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in City of Abilene Cemetery.
Mrs. Rodriquez was born in Roscoe and raised in Mathis. She married Ramon Rodriquez on Dec. 15, 1960 in Mathis. She moved to Abilene in 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; her parents, Macario and Maria Nieto of Abilene; four sons, David Rodriquez and Noe Rodriquez, both of Abilene, and Ramon Rodriquez Jr. and Eloy Rodriquez of Austin; two daughters, Melinda Rodriquez of Abilene and Melissa Flores of Lubbock; two brothers, Mario Nieto and Jesse Nieto of Hawley; three sisters, Elva Marquez of Austin, Esmeralda Gutierrez of Lubbock, and Maria Baladez of Anson; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will follow the rosary the funeral home until 9 p.m.

Fred G. Young
CLYDE - Fred G. Young, 82, died Friday in an Abilene care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the Clyde First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Joplin and the Rev. Linda Hill officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Young was born in Hamilton, Ala. where he attended high school. He received a B.S. degree from Clemson University and a Masters degree from Auburn University. He married Artie Mae Hughes on Sept. 2, 1967 in Abilene. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a pilot. He taught vocational agriculture in York, Ala. for 10 years and later worked for Washington Manufacturing Company and Levi Strauss Company. He moved to Clyde in 1980. He was the owner and producer of a fruit orchard in Clyde. He was a member of the Clyde First Baptist Church and the Gideon's.
Survivors include his wife of Clyde; three sons, James Houston Young of Selma, Ala., Daniel Eugene Young of Birmingham, Ala., and John Hughes of Austin; two brothers, Hoyt Young of Jasper, Ala. and Foy Young of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sisters, Gladys Thomas of Atlanta, Ga. and Deanne Young of Hamilton, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Johnnie Brown
ROTAN - Johnnie Brown, 81, of Abilene and formerly of Rotan, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will be in the Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born in Scurry County. She was the widow of Ray Brown, whom she married on June 15, 1941 in Lubbock. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Murray of Abilene; one son, Stan Brown of Abilene; two sisters, Arline Phelps of Mulsehoe and Christine Keeney of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Erin Collene Mongrain
ABILENE - Erin Collene Mongrain, 21, formerly of Knox City, died Friday in a local hospital following a car accident.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, on the King County Mongrain Ranch with Leon Burkham and Gene McCarty officiating, directed by Smith Funeral Home. Friends and family are asked to meet and leave together Monday at 9:15 a.m. in procession to the ranch cemetery.
Miss Mongrain was born in Shamrock and attended Knox City schools for seven years and graduated from Paint Creek High School in 1997. She was employed by the Abilene Petroleum Club and was a member of the Knox City Church of Christ.
Survivors include her parents, Emily and Jackie Swafford of McClean, and Rocky and Pam Mongrain of Knox City; two brothers, Alan Donaldson of Folson, Calif. and Greg Donaldson of Wichita Falls.; four sisters, Mandy Terry of Poetau, Okla., Angela Carnley of Round Rock, Crissy Swafford of McClean, and Jessica Fleming of Cross Plains; and grandparents, Marie Darr of Knox City, and Clarence and Osa Billingsley.

Alphal Leclaire
LEWISVILLE - Alphal Leclaire, 86, died Thursday in a local medical center.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the Mulke-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 26, in the Willow Cemetery in Haskell.
Ms. Leclaire was born in Seminole. She attended North Texas State University and graduated from Stamford School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Homer Leclaire of Flower Mount; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to donor's favorite charity.

Mary Lee Dunham
WEST COVINA, CALIF. - Mary Lee Dunham, 88, formerly of Aspermont, died Tuesday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 26, at the Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Aspermont.
Mrs. Dunham was born in Stonewall County. She was the widow of J.D. Dunham. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include six sons, Glen "Pide" Dunham of Old Glory, Lessie "Fessor" Dunham and Arthur Dunham, both of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Herman Dunham of Jayton, Jerry "Huck" Dunham of Gilbert, Ariz., and James Alvin "Doc" Dunham of Hobbs, N.M.; two daughters, Ona Faye Messinger of West Covina, Calif. and Billie Sue Taylor of Allen; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Marshall E. Morrell
ALBANY - Marshall E. Morrell, 84, died Saturday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, at the Albany Church of Christ with Brian Cope and Dale Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Albany Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home of Albany.
Mr. Morrell was born in Albany. He married Mary Angela Gallagher on March 16, 1935 in Albany. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was an independent oil operator and a rancher.
Survivors include his wife of Albany; one daughter, Ann Riley of Albany; one son, W.R. "Bill" Morrell of Albany; and five grandchildren.

Clotie Elender Hopkins
Clotie Elender Hopkins, 89, formerly of Abilene, died Friday in a Fort Worth care center.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Hopkins was born in Forsyth, Ga., and moved to New Hope and later Abilene. She lived in Abilene for 60 years before moving to Crowley and later to Fort Worth. She was the widow of Jimmy Hopkins. She was a homemaker and a 50-year member of the South Side Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Golden Eagles in Crowley, and a volunteer at the Crowley Public Library.
Survivors include three sons, Homer Ray Hopkins of Brownsville, James Robert Hopkins of Silver Springs, Md., and Gene William Hopkins of San Antonio; two daughters, Clotie Susan Hopkins Head of Fort Worth and Patricia Hopkins Vera of Crowley; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the Friends of the Crowley Public Library in Crowley.
