Oscar Loy Hubach

WINTERS - Oscar Loy Hubach, 39, died Sunday at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Lakeview Cemetery with the Rev. Wynette Halford and Louis Halford officiating, directed by Winters Funeral Home.

Mr. Hubach was born and attended school in Winters. He was a rig operator for Jolley Well Service, Inc., and was a Baptist. He married Kelli Busher Davis in 1989 in Winters.

Survivors include his wife, of Winters; his mother, Mary Hubach of Winters; one brother, Michael Hubach of Coleman; four sisters, Kathy Young and Betty Eldred, both of Coleman, Carol Clark of Plano and Crystal Gayle Hubach of Winters; two sons, Justin Davis and J.T. Davis, both of Winters; and four daughters, Kayla Hubach, Tiffany Hubach, Kaci Hubach and Courtney Hubach, all of Winters.

Cecil Lorah

BROWNWOOD - Cecil I. Lorah, 67, of Tucumcari, N.M., and a longtime Brownwood resident, died Friday at his home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Lorah was born in Chattanooga, Okla., and was retired after many years with Civil Service. He was a member of American Legion Post 308 in Bangs and the Baptist church and a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge. He was the widower of Minnie Lorah.

Survivors include three sons, Ray Lorah of Burkburnett, Robert Lorah of Grapevine and Clayton Lorah of Early; one daughter, Patricia Lorah of Brownwood; his father, W.C. Lorah of Oklahoma; three brothers, Clifford Lorah, Robert Lorah and Eugene Lorah, all of Oklahoma; five sisters, Catherine Plante of New Mexico, Geraldine Bourlier, Evelyn Mize, Imogene Booher and Frances Good Knight, all of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Goss

Robert E. Goss, 79, died Monday in a local hospital.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange, with the Rev. Caro Russell officiating. The body was cremated. A second memorial service and burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Lakewood, N.Y. at a later date.

Mr. Goss was born in Pennsylvania, where he grew up, and served in World War II and the Korean War. He married Susan H. Johnson in 1979 and worked for Blackstone Corp. in Jamestown, N.Y. for 33 years before retiring in 1982. He then moved to Abilene and was employed by the local YMCAs for 10 years before retiring in 1993. He participated in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for many years and was a past coordinator of the Abilene Volunteer Weatherization Program. He attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two stepsons, Stephen Johnson of Abilene and the Rev. Jeffrey Johnson of Cincinnati; four sisters, Margaret Lee, Catherine Bell, Beverly Slobodian and Miriam Stahl, all of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1741 Sayles, Abilene 79605; or West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene 79605.

Claudine Frances Klepper

Claudine Frances Klepper, 74, of Rockdale and formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday at her home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel in Rockdale. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. H.B. Terry officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.

Mrs. Klepper was born in Caps, and was a homemaker and a rancher. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale and was the widow of Ira Foy Klepper, whom she married in 1940 in Ground Field, Okla.

Survivors include one son, Joe Edward Klepper of Malakoff; one sister, Ida Mae Collum of Abilene; one brother, Rodrick McClure of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Gayle Myatt

NEW BRAUNFELS - Gayle F. Myatt, 63, formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday at his home.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Zoeller Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

Mr. Myatt lived most of his life in Abilene and owned Keno's Barbecue in New Braunfels.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra K. Myatt of New Braunfels; one daughter, Cindy Myatt of Austin; one son, Scott Myatt of Canyon Lake; two sisters, Billie Mensik of New Braunfels and June Norris of Canyon Lake; one brother, Fronz Myatt of Amarillo; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. today in the funeral home.

Roach Perry

LOCKNEY - Roach Perry, 70, brother of an Abilene resident, died Monday in a Lubbock hospital.

Graveside services with Masonic rites will be at 2 p.m. today in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, directed by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.

Mr. Perry was born in Walters, Okla., and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1942. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and moved to Aiken in 1945. He married Versie Barclay Roberson in 1959 in Lockney and farmed until retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Lockney Masonic Lodge and First Christian Church in Brownfield.

Survivors include his wife, of Lockney; one daughter, Gay L. Bradley of Corsicana; one son, Joe D. Roberson of Lockney; one brother, Max Perry of Midland; one sister, Monah King of Abilene; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity or Midland County Public Library.

Clay Delman Garner

DUBLIN - Clay Delman Garner, 83, lifelong local resident, died Monday in a De Leon nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Harrell Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Glenn Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Erath Gardens of Memory.

Mr. Garner was born near Proctor in Comanche County and attended St. George School. He married Louie Evelyn McGinnis in 1935 in Dublin and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He also served in the U.S. Calvary and U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a farmer and rancher, and was a director of the Dublin Rodeo Association. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, of Dublin; one son, Jack D. Garner of Dublin; his mother, Alice Louise Garner of Dublin; three sisters, Lola Lorene Labaume and Neilen Ruth Sherrard, both of Dublin, and Mary Alice Cambell of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren.

Viola Fay Chambers

CROSS PLAINS - Viola Fay Chambers, 78, lifelong local resident, died Tuesday in Abilene.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Schaffer officiating. Burial will be in Cross Plains Cemetery.

Mrs. Chambers was born in Calvin, Okla., and was a homemaker. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church and was the widow of Van Everett Chambers, whom she married in 1935 in Wewoka, Okla.

Survivors include two sons, Van E. Chambers Jr. of Scranton and Jerry D. Chambers of Gillis, La.; four daughters, Marlene Sanders of Cross Plains, Dee Anna Peacock of Texarkana, DeVelle Blackwell of Pflugerville and Angela Whittington of Novice; three brothers, Billy Sneed of Midway City, Okla., J.C. Sneed of Wewoka, Okla., and Donald Sneed of Holdenville, Okla.; one sister, Rita Campbell of Phoenix, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Grace Marie Barker

LANCASTER - Grace Marie Barker, 87, formerly of Wilmeth in Runnels County, died Monday in a local hospital.

A memorial service was held Tuesday in De Soto. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Wilmeth Cemetery with the Rev. Gayland Broadstreet officiating, directed by West/Hurt Funeral Home of De Soto.

Mrs. Barker was the widow of King Barker.

Survivors include one son, Bill Barker of Winters; one daughter, Betty Newhart of San Antonio; one brother, John Campbell of Red Oak; one sister, Kathaleen Morrow of Italy, Texas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
